Yeah Inuyasha was her first love, and real first relationship, but Kikyo was his first love and relationship. So when she left for college in America and they broke up she had comforted Inuyasha and had been the hanyou's friend after the ordeal, then the romantic feelings came up, and one day she confessed and here she finds herself today. But today was different, unfortunately, Kiyo had come home for the holidays.

Kagome just stood and walked out, she didn't hear her sister approach behind her. "I still wonder what it would be like if he and I were still together." she said nonchalantly. But there was meaning behind those words. It was her way of saying 'He's mine, and he always will' And she was right. Whenever the white-haired hanyou looked at her, he only saw Kikyo not Kagome.

"Me too." She said blankly.

"I do still care for him Kags." She confessed quietly. Kagome turned and looked at her sister.

"I suspected as much." she said with a small smile, even though on the inside she wanted to tear her sister's head off. She parted ways with her sister and walked into her apartment building. Kagome opened the door to her small apartment and tossed her keys onto the counter.

"I'm home." she said to the empty rooms. She walked into her bedroom and was about to fire up her computer when her cell rang.

"Hello." she answered.

"Higurashi, office now." It was her boss, Naraku, the twisted bastard didn't really let her off the clock, just called whenever he needed her.

"Be right there, sir." she said before hanging up. He probably needed her to go get another copy of a merger that he lost in his desk that was needed the next day.

Kagome quickly changed into her black dress suit and walked back out of the building and took a cab to Naraku Corp.

The building was quite large, but the one next to it made it look miniscule. Inutaiasho Inc. Naraku tried countless times to buy out the Inutaisho business but the old demon was firm on it. Hell, even the worst businessman wouldn't sell to Naraku, he was a lying hanyou that could only be trusted as far as he could be thrown.

And your probably wondering, then why does she work there?

Kagome couldn't find a job anywhere else and this one paid well, and helped for both college and rent. She refused to get involved in anything illegal so if Naraku was taken down for the many crimes that helped get him where he was today, she would not be caught up in jail time.

When Kagome got up to Naraku's office she found officer's standing by almost every office doorway. And when she got into Naraku's office, there were four police officers handcuffing him.

"Umm...Naraku?" she asked curiously. One of the police officers walked over to her and introduced himself. He was a thunder demon, and quite handsome.

"Hello, Miss-"

"Higurashi." she filled in.

"Well, Miss Higurashi, I'm Sgt. Hiten, Im afraid your boss here has been found out to be the culprit of many crimes against not just Inutaisho, but numerous other competitor corporations."

Kagome knew all of this would catch up to Naraku, but she had hoped it would be after she had quit or given her two weeks notice. "Am I under arrest as well officer?" she asked nervous.

"No, we have no evidence against you, but if you have commited something or was an acomplice now would be the time to say." he informed her. Kagome shook her head, she was at a loss for words. She needed to find a new job, and quick rent was due by the end of the week and her checking account had only about 20 bucks left. She was screwed.

"Good day miss." he said as the other officers began hauling Naraku out of the office.

Kagome just sunk down into a chair and placed her head in her hands, what was she to do now? She couldn't ask her mother or grandfather for the money...and she'd never ask Kikyo for money.

But she still had time to find a job, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. She had always said. She eventually walked out of the police infested building with her possessions from her desk and tried to hail another taxi when the box tumbled from the ground, including a picture of her late Father onto the sidewalk with a clatter.

She was in the middle of picking her things up when she heard a familiar voice, that made her head turn.

She couldn't hold back the sobs, once she got into her small apartment. Eventually her sniffles faded and she fell asleep on her couch. Completely miserable.

"Kagome? Kagome! Wake up!" the woman yelled as she shook her. Kagome opened her puffy eyes and looked up at Sango, her best friend that was more like a sister than Kikyo ever was.

"Geez, Kagome its almost noon, I thought you'd be at school by now." Sango said looking at her watch. "But I called your cell to see if you were still meeting me for lunch and you didn't answer. Usually your asleep when you don't answer that thing, so I came over to check on you. What happened to you?" Sango asked kneeling down by Kagome who was now sitting on the floor sniffling again.

"I-Inuyasha, Naraku, Kikyo..." she said with tears rolling down her cheeks."Naraku got arrested, which means I don't have a job, then when I was about to head home, I saw Inuyasha with Kikyo...and...and..." she couldn't make anymore words form whiel her sobs took over again and she hugged her best friend.

"My kami Kags...Why didn't you call me?" Sango asked hurt.

"I r-remembered you and M-miroku were out on a date and didn't want to bother you." she said still sobbing.

"Baka, You're more important than some dinner with Miroku! Now, I'll let you mope for 24 hours, then you're going to get going again and show Inuyasha who the better sibling is." Sango said with a smile. She could always somehow find a way to cheer her up.

"I'll be right back." Sango said heading for the door.

"Where are you going?" Kagome asked confused.

"To go get the Ben and Jerry's and a Johnny Depp Movie. You need a girls night." she said walking out the door.

"C'mon Kagome! Your 24 hours are up. Time to go job hunting!" Sango said dragging Kagome out of bed. She had spent the night watching movies and eating Ice Cream, but now she was ruining her dream of her brutally beating Inuyasha repeatedly over the head with a very large stick.

"You're a pain in my ass." Kagome mumbled as she walked into the bathroom to take a shower. It still felt like her heart was cracking in half whenever the image of that hanyou came to her mind. She wiped away another single tear and decided to get into the shower before Sango started yelling again.

After Kagome got out of the shower and dressed Sango dragged her down to her car and made her get into the passenger seat.

"You're not going to like where I'm going to take you, but he's is an old friend of mine and I'm sure he can give you a job in his son's office." Sango said as she started up the engine.

"Who's this 'old friend'?" Kagome asked suspiciously.

"Just someone." Sango chimed.

Sango drove downtown, and pulled up in front of the Inutaiasho building. Suddenly the whole thing slammed dawned to Kagome.

"No Way! Take me back! I want my Ice cream!" she said.

"No I'm Sure InuTaiasho-sama will give you a job."

"He's Inuyasha's father! Why would I work here?" Kagome whined. But Sango had already walked around to the other side of the car and was dragging Kagome inside. She gave up struggling and just decided to walk inside with some dignity, but she wasn't going to like it.

Kagome walked out of the towering office sometime later, in fact the sun was already beginning to set. Getting in the car she glared at Sango.

"You..." she simply said narrowing her eyes at Sango, who only laughed and started up the car, driving back to Kagome's apartment.

When the two women entered the tiny apartment Kagome plopped on the couch and sighed in despair, and waited for Sango's next method of torture.

When Kagome saw the woman come out of the bathroom with numerous hair products and flat irons and curlers Kagome almost bolted for the door, but Sango was faster. "Sit!" she comanded her as she pointed to a kitchen chair. Kagome sat down and before she could protest she heard the sound of tape and next thing she knew she was taped to her kitchen chair and unable to move.

"You will Thank me for this later." Sango said as she turned on the flat iron and squirted hair product into her hand.

Walking up to the bar, they saw Miroku and waved. Kagome sat down at the bar and ordered a drink and pulled at the dress that Sango had wrestled her into.
