Chapter 1: A Blue Rose

Chapter 1: A Blue Rose

Kagome leapt out of the well, and took in her surroundings. Then something in the sky caught her eye. Kikyo's soul stealers. How many times has she caught Inu-Yasha and Kikyo in a loving embrace? Three years she's been here and she feels more undead then Kikyo. She shook her head and headed for the village to drop off her bag, only to find none of her friends were there, not one. Miroku and Sango were helping Kaede heal a sick villager while Shippo was out playing. Kagome read the note explaining their where about. Kagome started to unpack all of the supplies except for one shoulder bag; she never opened that in front of the others. As she unpacked an organized Kagome thought about all the thing she had been doing in the few years. She had been training excessively hard during a two-year period; her grandfather, Kaede, Sango, and Miroku helped a lot. She made them all promise not to tell anyone, not knowing they were all helping. She was a much better archer, priestess, and fighter then Kikyo could ever be. Sango even taught her how to fight with swords and for her seventeenth her grandfather gave her a sword passed done from generation to generation. Did she tell anyone? Of course not, she let everyone to believe she was still a weak human, incapable of taking care of herself. She also used a concealment spell so no could feel how strong her aura had become.

Kagome then started for the tree line to find Inu-Yasha and his undead whore. She could sense them. She then heard moans and grunts; foolishly she fallowed the sounds, only to be greeted by the most disgusting sight she had ever seen. There they were, Inu-Yasha and Kikyo, runting on the forest floor. Kagome looked away, then looked back just in time to see Inu-Yasha mark Kikyo as his mate.

"Oh, Inu-Yasha," Kikyo moaned after he had marked her, "what about my reincarnation?"

"Forget about her Kikyo," Inu-Yasha touched Kikyo's face lovingly, "she is only a friend and a person to track down shards." Kikyo smiled and kissed her mate.

Kagome made no sound, all she did was turn and walk away from the scene in front of her. She felt like a whore, she felt dirty, and dishonorable. For you, see she gave herself to the hanyou just a year ago, with his promise that she would be his mate. She stopped at the springs by the village and knelt down, no tears came, she cried them for him and now she had nothing left. Kagome looked at her reflection and saw nothing but filth to the earth, nothing but a common whore. Inu-Yasha had been right; all she is is copy of Kikyo and nothing more. Just then, she felt a presence it was strong and powerful. "Sesshomaru-sama." She said his name clear and toneless.

"Miko." Sesshomaru stepped out of the shadows, "why are you not with your pack?"

Kagome stood and looked at him with hallow blue-grey eyes, "why does it concern you my lord?"

Sesshomaru was taken aback by her lifeless eyes, "what has he done to you that has broken you so?" Sesshomaru wanted to know where the miko who challenged him, who fought him, who fought with him, who won against him, who stood in his way, and gained his respect. He wanted to know where that miko went.

Kagome smiled a little she found it funny that he would ask, "he did nothing Sesshomaru-sama." Sesshomaru did not believe her, "it was me this time, if I had not believed him and gave myself to him I wouldn't be like this." Kagome then looked at him with pleading eyes, "what would I have to do to make you take pity on me and end my life?"

Sesshomaru turned away and began to walk, could feel her eyes burning on his back. He stopped, "you don't deserve to die in that matter." He shifted his head to turn to her just a little bit, "no matter what that half breed says, you are worth more then that." With that he continued on his way as Kagome stared after him until he was out of sight. Once she could not see him anymore, turned and made her way back to camp.

Once she arrived, she could feel the anger coming from Sango, Miroku, and Shippo. Kagome shifted her eyes to Inu-Yasha and with him was Kikyo, 'no wander they're mad.' Kagome sat beside Sango and spoke up, "what brings you here Kikyo?"

Kikyo turned to Inu-Yasha to explain, "well Kikyo is going to join us," he paused and looked about the group, "she is my mate now."

Everything went dead silent, they all stared a the hanyou, while Kagome kept preparing their meals and acted unfazed by the new. Sango was the first to recover; she shot up for her seat. "YOU DID WHAT?!" she yelled at the hanyou, "WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO HER! SHE'S BEEN WITH YOU THROUGH THICK AND THIN, AND THIS IS HE THANK YOU?!"

"It isn't your business who he chooses to be his mate." Kikyo stated coolly, "it just so happens he picked the stronger one." Kagome almost dropped the spoon in the soup she was preparing, trying not to let Kikyo's words get to her.

Sango jump at Kikyo but Miroku was faster and held on tight so she would not kill Kikyo. "Listen my sweet," Miroku said calmly, "it is he's choice one who he takes as a mate, even if it's a total disregard for others feelings." Miroku said the last part harshly and as calm as he possibly manage.

"Kagome do you have anything to say?" Inu-Yasha asked almost scared.

Kagome looked up from the soup and smiled at him, "soup's ready!" she cheered in a fake happiness. Everyone just stared at her as she stood and grabbed the bowls from her supplies.

"Are you that stupid?" Kikyo asked rudely, "he has mated with me not you." Kagome just kept smiling, which angered Kikyo more, "that means you are no longer needed, you are now useless!"

Kagome smiled and looked at Kikyo, "that nice, congratulations Inu-Yasha." Everyone was in complete shock that Kagome hadn't run off and cried somewhere.

When they finished eating she set up the sleeping bags, she gave hers up to Kikyo and Inu-Yasha to share. "Aren't you going to need that Kagome?" Shippo asked irritated. Why was Kagome doing this for that whore? She deserved so much more then this she is acting like everything is ok and nothing's wrong.

"I'll be fine Shippo don't worry about it?" Kagome smiled at the small child. She knew there would be no need for it. She would be leaving tonight there would be no point in her trying to sleep. Once they were all in sleep land she would leave and if their paths were to come together again then so be it but when that happens they would not recognize her.

She had to sit at the bottom of a tree with her shoulder bag beside her. As she waited for them to sleep she planned out what she was going to do. For the last year she had been helping the main of the lords if anyone was sick, mostly the Eastern Lord, that was why she away most of the time. She and the Eastern Lord had become close, like a father-daughter relationship, the way she knew how the Eastern Lord need her aid was with a white falcon. The falcon would land five feet from the group and screech three times. One day as a thank you for helping his general he gave her a gift, it was a cat demon. It looked very similar to Sango's, but Kagome's was black and had dark blue stripes. All she had to do to call it was to hold the necklace that came with her and call out her name.

After an hour of waiting for everyone to fall asleep, Kagome stood up and started to make her way to the Bone Eater's Well. Once she got there she jumped down and walked into her kitchen where she talked to her mom. "You probably not going to be seeing me very often." Kagome stated point blank.

Kagome's mother looked at her with sad eyes, "I know honey, we all discussed it and you do what you feel is right." Kagome's mom hugged her and called everyone down to say goodbye. "I'm guessing Inu-Yasha won't be coming around anymore?" she guessed. Kagome nodded yes and then kissed her family and then headed to the garden.

When Kagome got there she went over to the shed and got a pair of clippers. She then walked over to the blue rose bush and snipped a single rose from the garden. Kagome then ran to her room pullout a piece white stationary paper, she wrote a small note for her friends. After she headed back to the well and returned to the Feudal Era, where she walked back into camp. Once there she carefully removed Inu-Yasha's necklace and placed the rose as well as the note beside it. She looked around lovingly and then slipped again once more to the night.

Once in the forest she made her way to the spring where she was earlier. She then walked behind a boulder and subsided a concealing spell, which hid all of her armor and swords. She then changed into a night-sky-blue long Chinese style kimono, with white leggings and matching shoes. The kimono's edges where lined with gold and the pattern of roses were on the dress. Also, she places a blue semi-translucent scarf over her nose and mouth, allowing you only to see her eyes. The then placed her hair into meatballs with hair still hanging lose (imagine Sailormoon with black hair). She wrapped a belt especially made to hold her swords and daggers. She then put her black chest plate, which looked like Kouga's but smaller, on.

She then held on the her necklace and called upon her demon, to come and get her. When she arrived Kagome jumped gracefully on her back and petted her in top of her head. "To the Eastern Lord please." Kagome requested in monotone. Just as she was leaving the sun was rising, the gang would wake up soon, only to fin Kagome gone.

************************************************************************

Sango was the first to wake and find the note, she then at once woke everyone up. "You guys Kagome's gone!" once those words escaped her lips everyone bolted awake. Sango showed them the note and all of the items with it.

"That can't be!" Inu-Yasha snatched the note and prayer bead away from Sango, and then touched his neck.

Miroku then snatched the note from Inu-Yasha and read at loud, "dear friends I am sorry that I had to leave without a word but I see no other way. I not needed here and I need else where, Kikyo is right I have no place in the group anymore. I will be however taking the shards I have with me to finish what I started, I will see you guys again once it gets close to the final battle. As you may have notice but I have removed Inu-Yasha's prayer beads and I have also removed the magic. So, Inu-Yasha if you want you can still wear them but they contain no more magic. In others words, you wont be able to go see my family anymore. I leave you know my friends with the supplies and with this single blue rose. Goodbye. By the way, I'll know if you are running out of supplies and you will receive what you need. Good luck."

Everyone was shocked by the sudden disappearance of Kagome. Took them a long time to get used to Kagome not being around. For the first year Inu-Yasha kept trying to go back to Kagome's time and every time he failed. However, Kagome kept her word and replenished their supplies completely puzzling them. They went without Kagome for four years not knowing whatever happened to her, or how she was, but deep down they all knew that she was alive and everyday the prayed to see again. They would see her again, however, they wont recognize her and it will be under circumstances, which would be unexpected.
