Mistake by Chantelle

"Get it straight, Inuyasha! I am not Kikyou! I've never been Kikyou and I never will be!" yelled Kagome. "Did I say that you were Kikyou?! No, I didn't!" yelled back Inuyasha. "Yeah, but you assumed that I was looking like her yet again! Ugh! Inuyasha I swear I hate it when you compare me with her. And I seriously dont know what you saw in that girl. I'm not sayin' I'm jealous...I just wanna know. But since you won't tell me I guess then you don't have to. It's your business not mine." Kagome turned and walked toward the village, leaving a very speechless Inuyasha.

Back at the Kaede's hut, Shippou was taking a little nap. While Kaede was just making them lunch. It was so peaceful at the village. Miroku was just wandering around looking at the women in the village (wink wink ^_^;; LoL). Sango was just walking towards Kaede's hut asking where Kagome and Inuyasha were. "Hey Kaede, where's Kagome and Inuyasha?"

"Hmm? Oh, Kagome said she felt a shard near by, so Inuyasha went with her. But I doubt it was a shard. I guess they needed a little talk. You know how it's been between them now. They've been fighting a lot. In fact, they're fighting a lot more than usual." "Yeah...I see what you mean. Well thanks for telling me Kaede." answered Sango. "No problem dear. They should be back any minute now."

Sango stepped out of the hut and saw Kagome coming her way. But Sango didn't see Inuyasha with Kagome. "Hey Kagome! Where's Inuyasha?" asked Sango. "Hmmm? I thought he was behind me. I guess he's back there thinking..." answered Kagome. I wonder if i said something that offended him in some way...I hope he's safe. thought Kagome. "Do you want me to go back and get him?" asked Kagome. "Sure. And besides, it's almost lunchtime and I need to get Miroku here too." "Okay then. I'll be back in a few minutes!" Kagome turned back around and ran towards the forest to where she thought Inuyasha could be. "Inuyasha! Inuyasha!" Kagome yelled, looking around and up above. "Inuyasha c'mon! It's almost lunchtime and we need to eat! Look I'm sorry if I offended you in any way. You just got me mad that's all. So please come out where ever you're hiding." Inuyasha then came down from a tree branch he was sitting on...to just...well...think. "You're really sorry for what you said?" asked Inuyas ha. "Well I dunno what I said that offended you...but whatever it is, I am so sorry. So please come back with me to Kaede's hut. We really need to get back." Kagome grabbed Inuyasha's hand and ran towards the village. What they both didn't know was that someone was watching their every move. Hearing their every word.

*Chuckle* "This time little half-brother...that Tetsusaiga will be mine..." said Sesshoumaru. He was watching Inuyasha for some time now. Waiting for the right moment to attack him to get the Tetsaiga. But Kagome was always getting in the way, making Sesshoumaru delay his plans. Sesshoumaru turned around and left the spot. I need to think of a good plan to get that Tetsusaiga! But what... thought Sesshoumaru. Another chuckle came out of him. I know...Maybe I should kidnap that little wench he has with him. He might give up the Tetsusaiga for her. Now Sesshoumaru knows that Kagome loves Inuyasha. Since he has been following them for quite some time, he's been observing every single companion with Inuyasha. But Kagome was always the one that got him interested the most. Everytime Sesshoumaru looks at her without her knowing, he sees the love in her eyes for Inuyasha. If that fool hanyou of a brother doesn't want to give up the Tetsusaiga for the bitch, then she will know that he is not worthy at all. Now with that out of the way, Sesshoumaru headed back to the castle.

"Kagome slow down!" yelled Inuyasha. "Inuyasha, you're a demon aren't you? Keep up the pace already!" "Well for your information you idiot, I'm half demon." "OSUWARI!" *BAM!* "Ooh...sorry Inuyasha! Look we're gonna be late if we don't hurry up! We're almost there anyways!" said Kagome.

"Well if we're almost there then why are you in such a damn hurry?!" yelled Inuyasha. "Inuyasha I don't wanna be late. And besides, I'm getting hungry. So c'mon already!" Kagome then grabbed his hand again and ran for Kaede's hut.

When they got there Miroku, Sango, and Shippou were already eating. "Awww...you guys started without me?" whined Kagome. Miroku spoke up, "Heh, sorry Kagome. But we had to. Shippou was whining about how hungry he was. There's still enough food here for you and Inuyasha though." "Thanks Miroku." said Kagome.

"I'm not hungry..." said Inuyasha suddenly. "What? Why not?" asked Kagome, confused. "It's not any of your business Kagome! Just stay out of it and eat your food!" Inuyasha then walked out of the hut towards Inuyasha's Forest. Stupid Kagome...she doesn't know what's going on. I know that Sesshoumaru has been around. I've been smelling him around lately. And I have a feeling that he's gonna take the Tetsaiga...

Inuyasha started running. Why am I acting mean to Kagome lately? Inuyasha didn't know why he asked himself that. "Why am I?..." Inuyasha stopped at his favorite tree. Well I guess I can just think about it more up here. I really need to get myself some more alone time. Inuyasha climbed up to the branch he usually sits on and closed his eyes.

When Inuyasha closed his eyes all he saw was Kagome's face. He opened his eyes again. Damn it! Why the hell do I keep seeing Kagome's face everywhere I look?! Ahh I need answers! thought Inuyasha. "Do you hear me?! I need answers!!" yelled Inuyasha. A flock of crows flew out of the forest. "Feh...I just wish that she never came here. I wish that I never met Kagome." said Inuyasha. But all of a sudden Inuyasha hears a voice out of nowhere. "You don't really mean that do you?" It was Kagome's voice. She has followed Inuyasha to the God Tree without him even knowing it. Even with his sense of smell. "Inuyasha...you seriously don't mean that right?" asked Kagome once again. Tears were starting to form in her eyes. And yet Inuyasha couldn't stand to look at those eyes. Inuyasha looked away from Kagome. "You do mean it...I mean after all I've done for you...you still don't want me here?" Inuyasha looked at Kagome. Her eyes were a grayish color now. Cloudy colors. It was as if her e yes were turning into rain clouds and her tears were the rain drops. "Feh...Does it sound like I'm serious about it Kagome? I mean all my wishes have never come true yet. So why should this one be any different?" answered Inuyasha. Kagome stood up, face down. Her eyes were shadowed by her bangs. Kagome made a fist. "Fine then! If you don't want me here, you could've just said that to my face instead of to yourself and having me eavesdrop on you. I'll just pack up my things, say goodbye to the others, then leave....for good." said Kagome

Kagome then ran towards the village, crying. Oh Inuyasha. I thought you were my friend. But I guess all I was to you was just a...a shard detector! thought Kagome. When Kagome got to Kaede's hut she stopped at the door. Well...this is gonna be my last day here...I hope everyone understands...
