Kami Bottle by Grape Flavored Beans

Prologue

Here I am.

I've had some chapters of this story sitting in my notebook for months, and I've been slowly working on it. This story has lots of original characters, mainly them being Sesshomaru's relatives. Yes, because he has relatives other than Inuyasha. And you know, his parents.

I'm very excited to be bringing this story to you guys.

This story will be featured on FF.net eventually, but for now, it will be on A-Single-Spark only.

Also, I am looking for a beta reader because I make lots of errors, so if you are interested, email me at friedpears@gmail.com.

And so you know, Sesshomaru will not be featured until chapter four, ok? Ok. Good.

Prologue

It was impossible to try to avoid making this bottle. A blood bond was a blood bond, after all. It didn't matter if the people involved didn't agree, because this agreement was decided before you were even born.

Which is why a barrier was constructed around a cave in a mountain.

A woman draped in purple and black and gray set a bottle on a large flat stone. The bottle was long and skinny at the rim, but grew wider like the shape of a pumpkin at the bottom. It was tinted a purple so light that it could be mistaken as evil or pure, bad or good. Whatever the owner wanted it to be. Whatever they could dream up.

Two black candles sat beside the bottle and burned brightly. The woman pulled out a new red one from her large coat and set it down. Her thumbs pinched the wick and as soon as she pulled them away, a fire was left in their wake.

Then she waited. She twisted locks of silver hair as she watched the wax melt and vanish. This was boring work, but it had to be done.

Hours past and eventually the black candles began to flicker. The first black candle burnt out and left a silver smoke that just floated in the air, unmoving. The second black candle flickered out as well, but this one releasing a pink smoke.

Hands guided the smoke into the bottle. Once trapped in the bottle, the colors clashed against one another.

"Mai." A male voice said, breaking the silence as the woman corked the bottle. She used the red wax to seal the bottle. "Are you quite finished?"

A low growl was heard. "Shut the hell up and mind your own damn business, Manes."

"Isn't this my own damn business, sister?" Manes laughed as he kicked a nearby stone. "Since you dragged me to help you make a Kami Bottle, you should at least thank me." More laughter echoed out of his throat. "Or do you think you can really make it by yourself?"

Mai stood up slowly and walked towards her brother. Green acid colored eyes met briefly before the bottle was placed in Manes' outstretched hand. "You'll give it back, right?" She asked quietly.

Manes wrapped his long fingers around the bottle and a flash of yellow came and went.

"No, I don't think I will." He said thoughtfully as he put the bottle into a pocket on the inside of his coat. "You see," Manes sarcastically explained. "I have this feeling that you wouldn't take care of it. I even get this feeling you want to abuse the powers of the Kami Bottle."

Manes would need to leave this cave soon, and he couldn't use any of his powers to help him leave. He would have to walk until he regained some strength, which wouldn't be too long, he supposed, but it would still be about a day.

"Well sister, I'm afraid I must be off." The barrier opened itself for Manes, and he quickly ran off, not looking back.
