It did not matter how it had begun. What mattered was that it should never end.

It had happened gradually, ever so slowly. But once it was there neither wanted it gone. Neither could deny it.

So they met, secretly, each night to share it: their love for one another.

Who would've thought from the beginning that things would turn out this way?

Hostility turned to respect, respect to trust, trust to love. In the beginning, who would've thought?

A secret that no one else could know.

He had been a powerful taiyoukai, she a kind miko. But love burned down the walls that held them apart.

She had helped him in his time of need and captured his heart. He had saved her from certain death and delivered her to true love.

It did not matter how it had begun. What mattered was that it should never end.
