Chapter 1- The Ancient Race

Once Long ago there was an ancient race of youkai known as the black inus. They were known for there kindness and their peaceful nature. One would think that such a creature would be weak in battle but this was not true. They were fierce fighters and never lost a fight to anyone. Until the incident...

The black inus lived inside of the mountains bordering the west and the east. The inside of the mountain was a castle of alabaster and white marble and was lighted by magical torches that always lit in the presence of an inu youkai. Only one other demon besides the black inus knew of this place. One white inu youkai. Ai the former Lady of the West, Mate to Touga and Mother to Sesshoumaru.

Another thing about these inus was that they worshiped demon goddesses. There used to be six until the youngest and second oldest of them were consumed by greed for more power. Now only the four left are worshiped. Nightshade, Goddess of Water and Time, a Water Tiger Youkai; Amrana, Goddess of Ice and Intelligence, a Snow Leopard Youkai; Amma, Goddess of Earth and Spirits. Called Mother Nature, a Sparrow Youkai; and Darkshy, Goddess of Fire and Darkness, a Phoenix Youkai. These Goddesses would bless each newborn black inu right when they were born. Blessings were anything from blessings of strength to beauty.

However there was one blessing that was the greatest of all and few ever got it. It was called the divine blessing or the blessing of divinity. Some called it a curse though. The blessing will grant you the power to become a living goddess. This is...you must go through training that is brutal. Most die during either training or their recognition ceremony. The recognition ceremony will turn the trainee into a full living goddess or god. A living goddess or god does the work of the real goddesses and gods that they trained under.

That is the ancient race and now it is almost extinxct because of their one enemy that was able to kill them despite and help from divine creatures. There is a realm of complete and utter sadness and pain that those exiled from heaven and hell even go there for punishment. This realm has no name and is filled with the few who can harm the inus.

400 years ago the creatures from this realm attacked to destroy the inus and the four who had been given the blessing of divinity. These four were only children at the time but by now they are much older. The four children were taken to Edo to the bone-eaters well and taken to the other side by a faithful servant whom left later on to join back in the battle in which two of the four lost their parents. All had died that day and there was much sadness. Lady Ai had come to the battleground as the Lady and Lord, whom were her best of friends, were dieing and she was given specific instructions for when the four would come back.

Lady Ai after completing her first tasks went to bury those whose bodies were still there and most were. They were encased in diamond, sapphire and emerald cases to preserve their bodies throughout time. The Lady and Lord Known as Nightngale and Daisuke were places next to each other.

Later Lady Ai died at the hand of her own possessed mate in front of her child at the same battleground.

However the four children who survived had their memories erased until 6 years later. These four Children are known as Kagome, Haru, Vanya and Souta. Kagome and Souta are brother and sister and Haru and Vanya are their cousins though they treat them like brother and sister. Haru and Vanya are living in Kyoko at the time while Kagome and Souta live in Tokyo. Now their memories are back and they are in training...in their dreams.

They are not to tell anyone of their real identities until the time is right. However that doesn't mean that they cant sneak away and hide markings and then come back to fight in their human sides place. And it seems that Kagome may just have to do that soon.
