~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I had been excited to go out with my friends. It was summer vacation and I had nothing to do. We had been planning to go to the new club for awhile now we just needed an excuse to go. When Rin's birthday coming up we seized the chance to go. The club was attached to a restaurant, but we weren't going to eat.
When I was dropped off I found that some of Rin's and my mutual friends where waiting outside just as we planned. I walked up to Kouga. He was invited by Kikyo, my cousin and a friend. She had had a crush on him throughout the school year and couldn't resist inviting him.
Kouga and I had a connection that I couldn't really explain. We hadn't talked much in school, but we had a similar back round. And maybe he respected me for being the only one that wouldn't put up with Kikyo's crap. Or maybe it was that I didn't bug him and seek his attention. Whatever it was I felt more comfortable with him then the others that were assembled in front of the club.
It was but five minutes later that Kikyo showed up. Her mother had brought her and I went to talk to her for a minute before walking with Kikyo to stand next to Kouga. She taking the chance to flirt with him.
Just then my friend Sango arrived. She wasn't a person to pain after some boy or even date. But she was very much in tune with everyone else's love life. She mentioned toward Shippo, who was here for one thing and one thing only: Rin. He was older then any of us and was deeply in love with Rin.
I couldn't help but grin and Sango winked at me. We were only waiting for Rin and Kanna. Kanna had been Rin's friend longer then any of us. They were close in ways that couldn't be explained. She was also a every fun person to be around. Unique in more the one way.
When they finally arrived Rin took one look at Shippo and blushed. Kanna playfully nudged her with her elbow. We walked up to Rin and talked to her. Playfully picking on her for her crush and Sango and Kikyo couldn't help throwing out some very dirty comments.
We went in with out any other delay and were surprised to find that we were the only ones there. It was fine with us though as it was much easier to be at home there. We made ourselves comfortable. Although it became very awkward after awhile. There was nothing to do and no one to do it with. We had no DJ and the music that was playing was being destroyed in unthinkable ways.
As I took a seat near Kouga; Rin, Kikyo, Sango and Kanna took to the dance floor. They were there to have fun and damn it they were going to have fun no matter what. Kouga shook his head and in my direction and I smiled at him and shook my head in return. Both of us having the same thought.
"Kagome," I looked over to Kikyo, " come on! Dance with us."
"I'd rather not," was my reply and to that Kikyo and Sango proceeded to drag me onto the dance floor. Having nothing better to do I dance. After awhile, though, I grew tired of it and sat down, again.
After awhile Kikyo grew tired of it too and we decided to play pool with Kouga and Shippo, both seemed to detest that thought of dancing. The pool tables were set on either sides of the dance floor in a heavily lit area. They required four quarters to play and no one had change. Kikyo decided to get some while buying something to drink.
After that Sango came over having bought a drink also and sat watching us play pool. Me and Kikyo sucked to say the least. I was normally really good at pool but I hadn't played in years and my game suffered. Kikyo had never really played at all and it was laughable how bad we were.
Shippo and Kouga were less then amused to say the least. After that mostly one-sided game and a couple of Redbulls me, Kikyo, and Sango decided to go back to the dance floor. Rin and Kanna had been sitting near by and as we walked to the dance floor they joined us.
After awhile of dancing Kikyo and Rin noticed that Kouga and Shippo were playing pool with two skanky look girls that weren't apart of our group. Kikyo of course was hurt and expressed it as anger. And Rin was just really pissed off. She had enough boy trouble as it was.
Of course I was the one that both of turned to. Kikyo ranting and Rin complaining and then pretending that she was okay with it. I had had enough so I told them to come and dance with Sango and Kanna. After dancing for awhile they seemed to forget all their troubles. Me on the other hand had gone down hill fast.
I hadn't been enjoying this night as mush as I hoped and drama was making it worse. I went and sat by myself to think. I didn't know what was wrong. Throughout this whole night something had been bugging me like there was something missing. Sango noticed me and came over.
"What's wrong, Kagome?" Sango asked while hugging me to her. I stayed quiet because I didn't know the reason. She hugged me, again, and walked back to the dance floor.
As I sat there I put my elbows on the tables and linked my figures together putting my chin onto my joined hands. I was observing my friends dance the night away when I suddenly felt a presence, it was strong. Strangely it was familiar to me. I turned my head slightly to see who it was. My eyes widened and I lifted my head to get a better look.
Someone. I think it was Sango, noticed my sudden movement and looked my way. Over the music she asked, "Whatcha looking at Kagome?" This got the others of the group looking at me.
The person that held my attention began walking towards me. I whispered his name and stood up so suddenly that my chair flipped backward and on to the ground. I knew then what I was missing all night.
There, walking towards me, was the man of my dreams. He's name was Sesshomaru. He was older then anyone there, my friends had never met him, and I hardly talked about him. I ran to meet him half way. When we met I rapped my arms around his waist. He pulled me back a bit putting his hands on either my face. Our eyes met for only a second but it was something that was deeper the words. Slowly he closed the distance between us and our lips meet in the sweetest kiss.
As we broke for air my friends came rushing up to us. We stood side by side with our figures laced together. Rin couldn't help snicker. She was just as bad as Sango with other peoples relationships especially mine.
"H-hey guys," I said a little shaky, "this is Sesshomaru."
Rin squealed, she was one of the few people I have told about Sesshomaru. Kikyo the other person present that knew of Sesshomaru bowed to him and told him that they were kidnapping me before she and Sango grabbed my arms and dragged me off to the middle of the dance floor. Where no one was dancing.
They then preceded with wounding me with questions like: "Who was this guy?", "When did you plan on telling me about him?", "How old is he, he looks no younger then twenty-five?", etc.
"Guys, calm down!" I yelled over all their voices, " He's a guy I've known for awhile now, and I didn't tell you about him, Sango, because I-I'm not sure, and he is older then us a lot older."
"So Kagome, this is the guy?" Rin asked me with a knowing voice. I new what she was implying. The reason why I loved the crescent moon so much. I nodded in reply and smiled.
"So what is the guy to you anyway, Kagome? I mean is he your boyfriend or what?" Sango asked.
"Well he's my," I didn't know how to answer this one. I wasn't too sure of it myself. The thing we hadn't noticed was that Sesshomaru had been approached us and answered the question for me, "I am her fiancé." Kanna and Rin Squealed again and Kikyo and Sango went into their "you better not hurt her" speech.
I smiled up at him slightly surprised. We hadn't talked for over a year and not to mention that I was only sixteen. I vaguely wondered what his brother Inuyasha would think about this. Him being one of my best friends, the only one that couldn't make it to the club that night. He and his roommate Miroku had to work that night. Oh well, I thought, I'll tell him tomorrow.
