Chapter 1

Kagome Hugrashi was an average girl who every now and again would go 500 years into the past. She had been born in the past and was raised in the future after her mother had been killed. No one knew of this except her father, adopted mother of the future, and her.

She told no one of this secret and the fact that her father was the king of the Northern lands. She was a princess and to the other lords and kings she was a missing princess. And her father told no one where she was and could not go out of his kingdom to meet her since the last time he saw her she was only 12 years old. (By the way she is 16 almost 17 in this fanfic).

They both missed each other but knew the only safe way was to stay separated until she turned 17. And her birthday was coming up fairly soon.

Kagome hopped out of the well. "Wench your late" Inuyasha said. "So what" Kagome said sitting her backpack down. "So your not supposed to be late" Inuyasha said. "Can it" Kagome said. "Can what" He said. "Never mind why don't you go see the dead pot and leave me alone" Kagome said. "Shut it Wench" Inuyasha said.

Kagome had gotten over Inuyasha and Kikyo. Inuyasha thought Kagome was weak because he always had to save her. Little did he know that she had full control over her powers but never showed it for the safety of her identity.

Kagome got up took her back pack and walked away ignoring Inuyasha yelling. She walked back to Kaedes hut.

She reached the hut 10 minutes later. She walked in and Shippo jumped in her arms. "Mommy" He shouted as he jumped in her arms.

"Hello Shippo" Kagome said patting his head.

''Hello Sango Miroku (sp?)" Kagome said. "Hello Kagome" They said. Kagome sat down and got out her backpack. "Ohh did you bring me something" Shippo asked. "Actually I did" Kagome said handing him a lollypop(sp?). "Yea" He said as he took the lollypop from her.

Kagome sat the back pack down and started to talk to Sango about what had happened while she was gone. She told her Kikyo had come back and Inuyasha had went to her but that was about it.

'I'm glad Kagomes over Inuyasha otherwise she would be really depressed' Sango thought. "Hentai" Sango said as she slapped Miroku across the face. "He never learns" Kagome said with a sigh. "Yep" Shippo said.

Inuyasha was walking in the forest to met Kikyo. He saw her lying(sp?) on a tree. "Hello Kikyo" "Hello Inuyasha" Inuyasha went over to Kikyo and gave her a passionate kiss and then a hug. (*barfs* I hate Inuyasha and Kikyo pairings but I have to for this story).

"Kikyo my love will you be my mate" Inuyasha asked. "Yes" Kikyo said and Inuyasha took her as his. (I don't like explaining all that stuff).

The next day Kikyo had joined the group to Kagome's despair. The day went by perfectly they got 1 shard but that all changed when the most hated person showed up.

They had gotten one shard the day had gone perfectly until the most hated person showed up.

"Naraku" Inuyasha growled. Naraku laughs. "Hello Inuyasha" Naraku says. "So Kikyo has joined the group" Naraku said looking at Kikyo.

With that the battle began. (This is the real Naraku not a golem(sp?) )

They were losing and Naraku was gathering a ball of energy. 'Should I take the risk of exposing my identity to save them' Kagome thought. She decided she had to.

"Everyone get behind me" Kagome said getting in front. "What will that help" Inuyasha said. "Just shut up and get behind me" Kagome said. She stuck her hands to the side. Naraku let the blast go. "I'm sorry father" Kagome said putting up a very strong barrier. The blast bounced off.

The group was shocked no one thought Kagome was capable of this. "Naraku today you must die" Kagome said putting her hands in

front of her chest. Naraku laughed. "You amuse me girl" Naraku said. "I have a name" Kagome said. An energy formed in Kagome's hand and got bigger with each passing second. It hit Naraku but he wasn't dead yet but near it.

"How girl" Naraku said as he winced in pain. "I told you I have a name" Kagome said. She whistled a cloud appeared. She jumped on.

It took off and in a blink of an eye in front of Naraku. "Naraku you must pay for what you have done" Kagome said. She snapped her fingers and a sword appeared. It was a beautiful sword made of silver with a sapphire at the hilt. She swung the sword and hit Naraku.

He tried to attack only to fall over. Kagome delivered another swing. Naraku could not move he gasped in pain. Kagome swung her sword one more time and Naraku died. (*punches air* Finally Naraku is dead). Kagome picked up Narakus shards and fused it with the others it became whole.

She jumped back on the cloud and it took off toward the others who had shocked looks on their faces.

"How did you do that" Inuyasha asked. "I can't tell you until I am seventeen" Kagome said. "Thats in two days" Sango said. "Yes we must travel to the north" Kagome said.

"Why the north Wench" Inuyasha asked. "To see my father" Kagome said. "Oh" They said. They began their journey north.

They were a day from the northern lands and everybody was asleep except Kagome. 'why can't I sleep I'm normally the first one asleep' Kagome thought. Just then Sesshomaru and Rin appeared. Kagome jumped. "What is it Sesshomaru" Kagome said.

"We are just passing by" Sesshomaru said as he continued walking. "Kagome-sama" Rin said as she ran and hugged the girl.

"How do you know her Rin" Sesshomaru asked.

"Rin met her when Rin was going for a walk Kagome gave Rin something to eat" Rin said. Sesshomaru nodded and continued walking.

"Come Rin" Sesshomaru said. "Yes milord" Rin said as she followed Sesshomaru. When they were out of sight Kagome lied back down.

Kagome and the others slept and Kikyo gathered souls and then slept.

They awoke ate and continued on their journey. They had been nearing the northern lands. When they saw a huge wall surrounding the kingdom. It was nearing night but they walked on.

"I don't think they will let us through" Sango said. "I think Sango's right" Miroku said. "It will be alright I promise" Kagome said and continued walking. They reached the huge wall and saw guards.

"Who goes there" They asked. "Kagome and friends" Kagome said. "Hello milady" They said and bowed. "Open the gates" One yelled.

"Welcome home princess" The other said as the gates opened. "Thank you" Kagome said as she continued walking. The others gaped in shock but continued walking. Their mouths were open. "Oi Wench what did he say" Inuyasha said a guard appeared with a dagger at Inuyasha's neck.

"You insult the princess again near me and you will regret it" the man said. "Buyo stop" Kagome said. "Yes princess" Buyo said as he put the dagger down and walked away. "What was he talking about" Sango said. Kagome laughed. "It will be explained when we reach the castle" Kagome said.

A trumpet sounded. "THE PRINCESS HAS RETURNED AFTER 5 LONG YEARS" A person shouted. Cheers were heard. As they walked towards the castle.

As they walked through the village everyone they passed bowed. They were nearing the castle. They reached it the guards bowed and opened the door.

They walked inside as they did streamers were thrown and gongs sounded. "Happy birthday princess" They shouted. A woman ran to her. "Princess you have returned" The woman said. "Yes Hitachi" Kagome said giving the woman a hug. "Where is my father" Kagome said.

"In his study no ones told him so you can" Hitachi said. Kagome laughed. "I hope I don't give him a heart attack" Kagome said.

"Me too" Hitachi said. Kagome and the gang went to the study. Kagome opened the door. "Surprise" She said. Her father looked up.

"Kagome" He said. "Father" Kagome said and gave the man a hug.

"My daughter you have grown" The man said. "Yea" Kagome said as she went back over to her friends and led them to her dad.

"Dad this are my friends Inuyasha Kikyo, Miroku, Sango, Shippo and Korari" Kagome said. "Hello" They said.

"Guys this is my father Kanto" Kagome said. "Hello" They said. "Come Kagome it is time for your party" Kanto said.

Kagome followed her father out to the grand hall. They celebrated her birthday and messengers were sent everywhere telling them the princess had returned. Later that evening Kagome told them a secret.

"Uh guys you do know I'm not really human right" Kagome said. "WHAT" They said. "Yea I used my powers to make my aura and body appear human I'm really a full demon" Kagome said as she changed herself to her true form. She had a cat tail and ears like Sesshomaru.

Her friends stood there shocked. They knew all the people in the village were demons but didn't know Kagome was. She explained how she had been separated from her father.

Later that evening her father asked to talk to her. She went to her father's study. She knocked. "Come in" Was heard on the other side of the door. She opened the door and walked in. Her father was sitting behind the desk looking at what seemed to be a letter. He looked up from it. He had a smile plastered on his face. She shut the door and walked up to him and sat down in a chair. "What did you need me for" Kagome asked.

"I was wondering if you remember the one you loved before you left" He asked. I nodded. "I met him a while back. He has turned cold since I left" Kagome said. "Yes he will not talk and I have wanted to tell him you were ok many times" He said.

Inuyasha and others pov

Inuyasha and the others had been walking when they heard Kagome's dad talking so they went over to the wall and listened in on the conversation. What they heard almost made them faint. They had heard it. "Yes I realize I am still engaged to be married to him" She said. They left to go back to their rooms.

Kagome pov

"Kagome you do realize although you were gone so long he has not canceled the engagement" Kagome father said. "Yes I realize I am still engaged to be married to him" Kagome said.

"Good and I hope you still love him although the way he has turned" Her father said. "Yes and as you have wanted to tell him I have also the last time I met him. All I wanted to do was tell him who I was and give him a hug so he would go back to the way he used to be" Kagome said tears forming in her eyes. "Yes you can go now" he said. I left to go back to my room.

When I walked in I found it looked exactly like it did before. I went to the closet and changed into a more comfortable sleeping Kimono and went over to the bed and went to sleep almost instantly.

other guy pov. (I know I am giving more detail its because most of my reviews asked me to)

I was in my study when a knock came to my door. "Come in" I said harshly. A servant walked in. She had been his servant all his life. I wondered why she was smiling but didn't press the matter.

"Milord a letter came for you from the northern lands" The servant said. She handed him the letter and left. 'He will be so surprised' she thought as she went out the door.

I opened the letter and it read.

Dear lord,

I would like to tell you that my daughter Kagome has come back. She has come back to the kingdom just today. I have wanted so much to tell you she was alive but I could not for her safety. We would like to invite you to the castle in two days. So you can see how she has changed and decided whether or not you would like to keep you proposal to my daughter or not.

Lord Kanto

As I read the letter his eyes gaped in shock and anger. Shock because she had returned after 5 years and anger because the lord knew about it and didn't tell him but knew it was for her own good. For once in the past 5 years I he would get to see his love again but this time he would not let her go like last time. He would hold onto her if it meant his own death.(romantic and dedicated also over protective).

He couldn't believe it she was alive. He let his mask slip. He immediately ran out of his study and went to pack for the journey. As he went to his room he passed the servant who had been in his room earlier. She smiled as for once in 5 years her master was happy. He also ran past his servants who stopped him. "Milord why are you in such a rush" one asked.

"I do not have time for questions I need to get to the northern lands" He said his voice for once not capped with ice. "Ok milord" he said as I continued to my room.

When I got there I packed and immediately left for the northern lands although it would only take a day and a half I want to surprise Kagome by coming early.

Normal pov

Kagome woke up with the sun rays beaming on her face. She slowly opened her eyes. She got up and walked over to my window. Today was a beautiful day. I was happy I had found out he was coming and this time he would treat me like he did 5 years ago and not like I was Inuyasha's wench. I got dressed in a beautiful pink kimono and went down to breakfast. While there she noticed her friends were acting weirdly but decided against asking because it would probably get Inuyasha all worked up and he would start cussing and I don't want him to cuss around my father.

After breakfast I went to the library. I found an old photo album of which was of me and him as kids (I love to build up tension). I remembered we laughed and played without a care in the world until that day.

Flashback

I walked into my mothers study to find her bloody body on the floor with a sword through her heart. I immediately screamed and went over to where she lay. I hugged her for dear life and cried. My father walked in and gasped. Mother was taken out of the room to get ready for her funeral while my father stayed and comforted me.

Her funeral was held and then that evening after the funeral my father took me to an old well. He gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek and told me I had to jump in the well and not come back until I was 17. I was crying but nodded and jumped in the well. I used my miko powers to change my appearance to human and jumped out of the well.

It was raining there and I sat down. Later on a woman came and took me in from then on I was known as Kagome higurashi until I was seventeen.

End Flashback

I sat there staring at the pictures I was crying until I felt a hand on my shoulder I looked up and saw Sango. I motioned for her to sit down in a chair beside me. She sat and then asked me an unexpected question.

"Kagome yesterday we heard you and your father talking he said that you were engaged to be married can you tell me to who" Sango said. I nodded. "I will tell you are like a sister to me Sango so I will tell you" Kagome said. She took out a picture.

"It all started when I was little I had fallen in love and was engaged to be married when I was 11. We were so excited we couldn't wait until we grew older and got married. We knew it wasn't just a simple crush but love" Kagome said.

"And who are you engaged to be married to" Sango asked smiling. "I am engaged to be married to.....

Sorry have to end it there.

Last time.....

This time...

"Sesshomaru" Kagome said. Sango's mouth fell open. "That cold hearted bastard" Sango said. "He wasn't always like that he used to be different after I left he was heart broken and decided to shun all feelings" Kagome said as she showed Sango a picture of them as kids. They were both smiling in the picture. "My father invited him here tomorrow" Kagome said.

Sango who was still in shock nodded. "You can tell them if you want" Kagome said. "Really why won't you" Sango said. "I don't know Inuyasha will probably wonder how I could fall for his cold hearted brother blah" Kagome said. Sango nodded and left the room. Sango would tell the others after she took a bath and had dinner.

Kagome sat there going through pictures. An hour later she put the book down. She had skipped dinner but her father wouldn't mind.

She was tired so she decided to go to bed.

Sango pov

Sango slowly ate her dinner waiting for everybody to finish. They were curious she had told them to met her in her room after dinner and they had no idea why.

They finished eating and rushed off to Sango's room. They all sat down. Inuyasha cross-legged next to Kikyo, Miroku deathly close to Sango, and Shippo on the bed.

"Ok guys you know how the other day we over heard Kagome and her father" Sango said.

"Yea her father said she was engaged to be married" Miroku said.

"but we never found out to who" Inuyasha said.

"Well I know" Sango said. "Really? Who is it" They said/screamed. Sango took a deep breath and covered her ears ''Sesshomaru" Sango said. "WHAT!!" They screamed. "Yea" Sango said removing her hands from her ears. "How could she love that cold hearted bastard" Inuyasha said.

"You know she knew you would say that" Sango said. "She said he used to be different that he used to be more kind but after she disappeared it broke his heart so he decided to discard all emotions" Sango said. They looked at her wide eyed. Inuyasha laughed. "Sesshomaru.. nice ha ha" Inuyasha said. "Yes she showed me pictures" Sango said getting out the album she had snuck out of the library.

She showed them the pictures. He was indeed happy in the pictures. "She also said that he would be visiting in tomorrow" Sango said. They just nodded and left for their rooms.

Kagome woke up to a light pecking on her window. She turned and saw Sesshomaru on her balcony. She gasped he had come early. She got up and walked over to the window and opened it. She walked out onto the balcony and gave Sesshomaru a hug.

"I have missed you so much" Kagome said. "As have I" Sesshomaru said. "You have grown" Sesshomaru said. "You have too" Kagome said as she sat down in a chair. "I feel like I have seen you before now" Sesshomaru said. "You have" Kagome said. "Really? When" Sesshomaru said obviously curious. Kagome changed in to the form from when she traveled with Inuyasha.

Sesshomaru was shocked although he didn't show it. "You traveled with my brother" Sesshomaru said. "Yes'' Kagome said changing back. "but didn't you love my brother" Sesshomaru said. "No I never did I just thought I did" Kagome said. "I love you and only you" Kagome said as she leaned on his shoulder. "I love you too" Sesshomaru said wrapping an arm around her shoulder.

"I am sorry for what happened to your uh...arm" Kagome said gesturing to the left sleeve of his haroi(sp?). "It is alright it was not your fault it was my baka half-brothers" Sesshomaru said. Kagome moved her hand to the sleeve and concentrated her miko powers. Energy flowed into the nub of a limb and began to form an arm.

She traced out and arm. Beads of sweat were beginning to form on her forehead. She finally finished but unfortunately passed out from exhaustion. "Thank you my Kagome" Sesshomau said picking her up bridal style. He thought he was crazy but he could have sworn he heard her say "You are welcome my Sesshomaru". Sesshomaru walked back into Kagomes bedroom and placed her on her bed.

He got up and left her to her dreams. He walked out of her room and leapt off of the balcony and into a tree, where he could see her while she slept. She looked so peaceful to him.

While watching her he dowsed off into a light slumber senses on high alert.

Normal pov

Kagome groaned as she rubbed the sleep from her eyes. She sat up in her bed. Looking around she realized she was in her room. 'Was it a dream did I really see him again or not' Kagome thought. She got out of bed and put on a black kimono with a red dragon imprint on it. The dragons tail went from her stomach to her mid-thigh. She put her hair in a messy bun and went to the balcony and stared out the window. Her breath caught there he was sitting on a tree limb staring at her with those piercing gold eyes. 'It wasn't a dream' Kagome thought.

Kagome could think of only one thing to do she waved. He smiled. Then he mouthed thank you. She mouthed your welcome back to him. She went back into her room and Hitachi walked into her room right as she walked in from the balcony. "Your father requests you be at breakfast" Hitachi said. "Thank-you I will make sure I am there" Kagome said. "ok m-lady" Hitachi said leaving the room. She went back to the balcony to find Sesshomaru gone. She sighed and headed down for breakfast. When she reached the dining hall she walked in gracefully walked in thinking that Sesshomaru would probably in there.

Sure enough she was right next to her father at the table sat Sesshomaru quietly watching as she entered the dining hall. She sat on the other side of her father and smiled at everybody.

They smiled back except for Sesshomaru who kept his stotic mask although Kagome knew it was fake. Breakfast was uneventful except Kanto told Sesshomaru and Kagome that they should spend the day together so they could decide whether or not to continue the engagement.

After breakfast Sesshomaru and Kagome went to the garden. "It is just as I remember" Kagome said. "Yes it is as I remember too" Sesshomaru said. "Are we going to continue the engagement" Kagome asked out of the blue. "I do believe we should" Sesshomaru said. "Dad said that we should get to know each other again first although I think I know you well enough because you have not changed you are still the pride filled fighter I remember" Kagome said. "And you are still the spunky girl I remember" Sesshomaru said. "Nether of us has changed" Kagome said.

"I'm sorry for not telling you who I was sooner" Kagome said as she sat down on a swing. "It's Ok you are here with me now and Thats all that matters" Sesshomaru said standing next to the swing. Kagome nodded although she still looked gloomy. Suddenly she seemed to brighten up and get an evil grin. "What is it" Sesshomaru asked. "You have to get to know Shippo" Kagomes said. "And you have to get to know Rin" Sesshomaru said. They both sighed. "So when are you going to tell my father that you have not canceled the engagement" Kagome asked. "Tonight" Sesshomaru said. "He told me to meet me in his study with the answer so I will" Sesshomaru said.

"I will like having an adopted daughter not that I don't love Shippo its just that I have always wanted a daughter" Kagome said. "And I will like having an adopted son not that I don't love rin but I need a son to show hunting techniques too" Sesshomaru said. Kagome smiled. "I never told you something I found out when I first met Rin" Kagome said. "What is that" Sesshomaru said obviously curious. "She is a miko" Kagome said. Sesshomaru fell over anime style. "What!" He said when he got back up. "Yes I can sense her spirit energy although its not much at least I will have someone to teach my abilities to" Kagome said with a grin.

They walked back to the castle and went to dinner. After dinner Sesshomaru went to Cantos study. Sesshomaru knocked. "Come in" Was heard on the other side of the door. Sesshomaru walked in and shut the door behind him. "Ah Sesshomaru I see you have come to give me the answer" Kanto said. "Yes'' Sesshomaru said as he sat down. "What is your answer then" Kanto asked. "I wish not to cancel the engagement" Sesshomau said calmly. "Good good" Kanto said. "The arrangements will be made for your wedding and then after that you can decide when you will mate" Kanto said. "Ok" Sesshomaru said as he walked out of the study and to Kagomes room. He knocked. Kagome came to the door.

"Your father said that the wedding will be set for 2 weeks" Sesshomaru said. Kagome nodded. "And the mating ceremony" Kagome asked blushing slightly. "When we wish after the wedding" Sesshomaru said. She nodded still blushing. Sesshomaru smirked and walked down the corridor to his room.

The next 2 weeks went by until it was time for the big day.

A very nervous Kagome was with Sango who was fixing Kagomes hair. "Kagome don't be so nervous" Sango said. "Just wait until its your wedding and I'll be saying that'' Kagome said. Sango sighed. "Your right" Sango said. They were soon finished. Kagome was wearing a beautiful white kimono with tiger lily imprints. her hair was in a perfect bun and had a bit of make-up on. She got ready and went to the front of the ballroom doors. The guards opened the door and Kagome got ready to receive her fathers arm.

Her father was at the door with his arm stuck out. Kagome took his arm and went to Sesshomaru.

"We are gathered here today" The preacher said.

(BLAH. not telling all that)

"If anyone has any objections speak now or forever hold your peace" The preacher announced. "Objection!" Was heard from the window as it suddenly bust open. A man walked out of the broken glass. He wore a dark cape and hood. The guards surrounded him but he took them down as though they were nothing. "Who are you and what is your business here" Lord Kanto said. "My name is Akatsu and my business is to destroy these lands" The man now known as Akatsu stated. "And if that were true why interrupt a wedding" Lord Kanto stated.

"Best time to catch people off guard" Akatsu said. "Now hand over the kingdom and these people will not get hurt" Akatsu said. "I will not just hand over my kingdom without a fight" Lord Kanto stated. "Very well" Akatsu said and drew a sword. Kanto drew his sword and the battle between the two began. All of a sudden a swarm of ruthless demons came through the newly formed door (The hole in the wall)/

"I'm guessing these are friends of his" Kagome said getting into a battle stance. "I agree" Sesshomaru said drawing tokijin.

Inuyasha drew tetsuiga and Sango and Miroku got out their weapons.

They started to battle the demons. Sesshomaru fighting with whip and tokijin. Inuyasha with claws and tetsuiga. Sango with Hirikakotsai(sp?). Miroku with his staff and sutras. Kagome with miko energy and bow and arrow. Their were countless demons and the battle with Kanto and Akatsu was growing into a death battle. Kanto was losing not that he was a bad fighter but that he was getting a slight bit old and Akatsu was young and full of life.

The battle raged on like this for more than an hour when all the demons were slaughtered, although the battle with Akatsu and Kanto was growing more and more fierce. Kanto was severely wounded while as Akatsu had a few cuts and a gash in his stomach. Suddenly Akatsu let out a blow of energy with his sword and Kanto was knocked out barely alive. "Father" Kagome cried rushing to his side. Sesshomaru stepped in front of Akatsu. They started to battle with Kagome kneeling next to her father and the others calming down the guests.

Sesshomaru was winning the battle with Akatsu. Sesshomaru's anger was rising ever second not only had he injured Kanto one of his only and dearest friends but had interrupted his wedding. With Sesshomaru's speed he stabbed Tokijin into Akatsu's stomach. Akatsu howled in pain. Sesshomaru pulled Tokijin back out and plunged it into Akatsu's shoulder. Akatsu's eyes slowly glazed over as he cried out in pain. Akatsu then died of so much blood loss.

Sesshomaru sheathed Tokijin and looked around then he saw it the most awful sight to behold.....

Kagome pov

"Kagome my daughter listen" Kanto said. "Yes father" Kagome said. "My daughter my time is almost up. I wish for you to rule this kingdom. I wish for you to be happy with Sesshomaru. You can combine the North and Western kingdoms. You will make a great ruler for these lands. I will miss you my daughter, but now I get to see your mother." Kanto said as his eyes slowly glazed over and drew heavy.

"Father" Kagome said as she started to cry. "You can't die" Kagome said as she continued sobbing.

Back to Sesshomaru

Sesshomaru sheathed Tokijin and looked around then he saw it the most awful sight to behold. Kagome was weeping over her fathers dead body saying no you can't die over and over to herself. He walked over to her and gently put a hand on her shoulder. Kagome turned to look over her shoulder and plunged herself into Sesshomaru's arms sobbing.

Normal pov

Kagome continued sobbing into Sesshomaru's arms as he calmingly stroked her hair. They finished the wedding and Kanto's funeral was held the next day. Throughout the castle every thing was black: Black curtains, Black carpets, anything you could see was black. Black a sign of mourning. Kagome on the day of her father's funeral wore all black.

About 2 days after that Kagome and Sesshomaru were in their room talking.(Yes they share a room now).

"Sesshomaru I don't think I can run a kingdom" Kagome said. "I told you to stop worrying. When we mate We will combine the western and northern kingdoms and I will help you run the kingdom" Sesshomaru said in an unusually calming voice. He kissed her forehead.

Kagome sighed.

"I guess your right" She said as she looked up at him and smiled. Sesshomaru wrapped her in his arms and put her in his lap. Kagome snuggled up to his chest. She soon drifted off into a well needed sleep. Sesshomaru got up and put her under the covers and quietly as not to wake her slipped in beside her and wrapped an arm around her waist.

Sesshomaru did not plan on sleeping that night but her intoxicating scent was calming him and his beast so much that he went off into a peaceful slumber.

Later that evening....

Kagome was struggling in her sleep immediately awakening Sesshomaru. He soon noticed her sweat and could tell she had been having a bad dream. He gentle tugged her arm in trying to wake her and she slowly cracked her eyes open. As a relief he buried his nose into her hair.

She giggled. "Tonight" Kagome said. "Yes now Kagome you will be mine" Sesshomaru said.

That night they mated. Afterwards they slowly drifted off to sleep together.

The next morning they told everyone of the good news. They wrote letters to the other lords and ladies of the other lands who knew nothing of it.

Kagome sat in the library reading a book. She sat it down and stared at the letters on the desk and decided to go see what the lords and ladies wrote back.

Flashback...

With the lord and lady of the east

Lord Cabuto and Lady Motiki were opening the letter from lord Sesshomaru.

Lord Cabuto read it aloud.

Dear lord Cabuto,

I would like to tell you that lord Sesshomaru has taken a mate. I would also like to tell you She is the lost princess of the northern kingdom. I also regret to inform you Lord Kanto is dead. He died protecting his daughter and handed the kingdom of the north over to Kagome. They will also be a celebration for their mating and a combining of the Northern and Western Kingdoms. It will take place in 3 days.

The western kingdom

Cabuto couldn't believe his eyes. He looked to his mate to see she had surprise written all over her face.

"I can't believe it Lord Sesshomaru has a mate and she is the cheerful, spunky, princess of the northern lands. Not to mention her father is dead" Lord Cabuto said. His mate nodded.

"I never knew Mr. Iceman actually had feelings" Motiki said. Cabuto laughed.

With The lord and lady of the south

Lord Housie and Lady Kimono of the south were opening the letter from lord Sesshomau.

Dear lord Houshi,

I would like to tell you that lord Sesshomaru has taken a mate. I would also like to tell you She is the lost princess of the northern kingdom. I also regret to inform you Lord Kanto is dead. Houshi chuckled. "So he finally confessed his liking for her." Houshi said. His mate nodded in agreement although their were tears in her eyes. She began to cry. Houshi rushed over to comfort her. "I can't believe Kanto is dead" Kimiko said between sobs. "Yes I know I can't believe it either" Houshi said as he comforted her.

Present...

Kagome got one of the letters and began to read it it read:

Dear Lord Sesshomaru and Lady Kagome,

So Mr. Iceman has finally gotten a mate. I am sorry for the loss of Lord Kanto he was a good lord of the northern kingdom and Kagome you will be too. I am pretty sure Iceman will help you. We will be attending the celebration.

Lord Cabuto

Kagome laughed a bit as she read the letter. Sesshomaru walked in and saw Kagome laughing. "What is so funny" Sesshomaru asked. Kagome handed him the letter still laughing. Sesshomaru read the letter and growled. Kagome decided to open the other one from the southern kingdom.

Dear Lord Sesshomaru and Lady Kagome,

I am sorry for the loss of Lord Kanto he was a dear friend of mine. Although I believe Kagome you will make a fine Lady. I am also surprised Sesshomaru finally sucked up his pride and told you his feelings. We will be attending the celebration.

Lord Houshi and Lady Kimiko.

Kagome slightly laughed and handed Sesshomaru the letter. Again Sesshomaru growled a bit and gave the letter back to Kagome.

He walked out of the room. Kagome put the letter up and went to the grand hall to help prepare for the celebration.

"So it begins" A voice said in the shadows as he watched in the trees near the western castle. He laughed an evil laugh as he began to head towards his lair.

Kagome was out in the garden today sitting on a bench watching the wind blow through the flowers. 'the kingdoms are combined and its so peaceful' Kagome though as she continued to stare out into the garden. She felt someone sit down beside her and wrap an arm around her waist. She leaned on Sesshomau shoulder and sighed.

"You need to come sign these papers koiishi" Sesshomaru said. Kagome groaned. "I hate paperwork" Kagome muttered. "So do I but we have to sign them" Sesshomaru said as he nuzzled her cheek. "Fine" Kagome said as she stood up and walked with Sesshomau to his study.

Once in the study they signed the paperwork and went to check on the children. They heard a scream. "That sounds like Rin" Sesshomaru said as he looked towards his mate. Her eyes were blood red with rage at anyone who would harm her kit. Sesshomaru nuzzled her and her eyes flickered normal with a tint of red. They ran towards the castle doors to see. A giant bug demon with Rin in his arm and Shippo off to the side unconscious.

This time it was Sesshomaru's eyes that turned blood red and he went and killed the bug demon and grabbed Rin. As he sat Rin down he noticed 12 other bug demons more powerful than the one he had just fought.

'Just great' Kagome and Sesshomaru thought at the same time.

SORRY!!! I know really short chapter but I have tests coming up this coming up week and the teachers are trying to cram everything in our head they can this week and my dad just got back from California so I am totally busy but will still update although they probably be short.
