A Broken Heart to be Mended by Angellinna

One never got a chance to say good-bye

A day had gone by since Narku was defeated. Though, everyone had battled to the bloody end. Inuyasha, Midroku, Sango, Shippo and even Kikyou were dead. Kagome was rendered unconscious when she was thrown back from the force that had pushed her. When she was finally roused from her weaken state. She fearfully looked around. The battlefield where she had been laying still smelt of split blood it almost made her sick. Everyone that she knew and had grown to love was dead. She could still see their remains cast about the dusty hard ground. Kagome finally able to stand up had only one person on her mind and that was Inuyasha.

She rose to her feet and yelled out to him. "Inuyasha." Her voice was the only sound that she had heard echo back. Then silence fell. He surly could have been able to live. Hope rose to her mind. She quickly made rounds searching and calling for him. Still silence fell on death ears. "Inuyasha... INUYASHA!" Still nothing. Tears were filling the young girl's green eyes. Her body felt numb with every shout. She no longer cared about the pain from her head. Some how, she could not feel it. Kagome sucking a heart-felt sob and hollered once more. "INUYASHA... Inuyasha please if you're alive answer me." Then her eyes fell a pond what her heart feared the most.

Inuyasha's lifeless body was strung between two boulders. She ran over to him and looked him over. Tears streaming down her dirty face. She knelt beside him. And finally saw what caused his death. Where his heart would have been was rough shaped claw mark. "Oh my GOD..." Kagome gasped sobbing loudly now. She could see the ground underneath Inuyasha clearly. His heart was ripped out. She buried her face in what was left of his chest and cried until she could cry no more. Her whole body ached. Then it started to rain and she just whaled loud enough for the world to know a terrible tragedy had taken place. She wanted to die right along with him. Why was she still alive when everyone else was dead? Why did she have to survive and pick up all the pieces of her shattered heart all alone? She cried uncontrollably. Why couldn't she die too? Kagome was now wet, angry, and heart broken. Why did she have to live? She no longer wanted to. These thoughts race d through her mind every time she opens her eyes and looked around. Finally something had caught her attention. Inuyasha's sword Tetsiga was no where to be seen. It was gone. She looked every where for it and still no sign of the sword. She shuddered and her teeth chattered. She whimpered softly to her self. Surely it would be here. But it wasn't.

Kagome finally getting able to stand once again wanted to bury everyone but how? She looked at her self. Finally getting feeling back to her skin. Her eyes burned. Her whole body was soaking. She needed to fine shelter. But wasn't in a hurry to leave. "I never got a chance to say good-bye" she whispered into the rain. "I never got a chance to say good-bye." She looked back down at Inuyasha's lifeless form. And knelt down beside him. She lifted his now mud/blood wet hair from his pale white face and kissed him on his now purple lips. That was the first time she ever kissed Inuyasha. But she never knew that she would be kissing him good bye. She rose and sadly walked away. The thunder crashed in the sky and the rain drops fell harder than ever. It was almost like Kagome was not the only one crying.

Some one watched the young woman slowly walk away from everything and every one. He had his brother sword in his left hand. Since the master of the Tetsiga was now dead. The sword was useless to him. He felt as if it had all been in vain. He no longer wanted the sword. But felt the need to take it anyways. He had known the young girl was still alive. He knew she was going to wake and realize she was the only one left. He frowns. She and the rest of them had proved themselves to him. Yes, even his half-brother Inuyasha. Sesshoumaru bowed his head. "Good-bye little brother." He murmured. "You have proven your self honorable enough to be recognized as family. You die with honor. Fare-well and May you rest in peace." With that he said a silent prayer and walked away with out looking back.
