The Snow Globe Life by silent spring

Chapter One

It was hard to believe she was actually here. Actually in England. A childhood dream come true.

Inside an airport in London, in the midst of at least a hundred others, there was a petite girl of medium height (a little over 5'5") with shiny onyx colored hair. In one hand was the handle of her suitcase and in the other she held a gym bag as she walked out of the airport terminal. The warm summer breeze rushed at her the moment she steped outside. She was literally standing in London. She was estatic and still in disbelief as she walked around looking for a cab. She turned the corner and found one parked by the curb.

The cab stopped at a tall building. She stared at it with awe, the cab driver's chuckle snapped her out of her stupor. She paid her fare with a smile and got out of the car. Upon entering the building, she felt the rush coming from the air conditioner vents directly proportional to the first step inside the doorway. She headed straight for the elevator that was across the enterance and she pushed the button for the top floor. While the elevator continued to move higher up with the corny and rather lame elevator music, she fumbled through her pockets looking for the paper that had all the information about the apartment that she would be living in while she was in England. After pulling out all her jean pockets, she came to the conclusion she had lost it simlarly to how she lost many other things throughout her life. She gave a sigh and her shoulders fell just as she reached the top floor. The elevator doors opened and she saw a single door in front of her. She put her head outside, looking side to side. The door in front of her was the only door on the floor. She got the shivers as she felt that this was a rather eerie situation like one you would find in a horror movie. If anything, this thought made her want to squeal and jump. She hated scary movies, she couldn't stand them expecially the lepercaun movies. Once when she was about 4 years old, her 6 year old cousin Miroku had come over with that movie to watch. She had become so terrified by the movie that she had had nightmares about lepercauns out to get her for almost every night for the next 4 years. She shook her head at the thought that there could probably be some killer behind the door in front of her and finally stepped out of the elevator. She stood right at the door for a good extra 5 minutes before taking a deep breath and knocking on the door.

She waited for a bit and was about to knock on the door again when the door suddenly opened. Her hand, instead of coming in contact with the hard, polished wood, was touching smooth skin. Her eyes came face to face with a God-like chest and as her eyes trailed down, she saw a row of chiseled abs. She began to move her eyes up when she reached the top, she was stuck by quite possibly the most gorgeous male specimen ever. He looked every bit like a model with flawless skin, hypnotizing hazel-amber eyes, and the best semi-volumized, wavy hair she had ever seen on either gender. He reminded her of a statue of a greek warrior. "May I help you?" were the words of the bemused statue in front of her. She was still in a shock of awe which made it hard for her to try to formulate words.

"I..uh...I...um...this is the apartment..uhh...number that I was told...um I would be renting." He looked at her for a moment.

"I'm sorry. Please come in, I did not know that you would be arriving today. How rude of me, you must be tired. Let me take your bags to your room." So with that the hot and now established to be mobile statue had ushered her inside as he took her bags. He took a right from the door into a hallway and passed the first door on the left and entered the second right next to it. He reappeared shortly and offered her some breakfast, a combination of french toast, pancakes and eggs. "Your trip must have been exhausting. Please eat and if you'd like, I can show you around after you rest a bit."

"I'd like that very much if it's not a bother. Thank you. By the way, my name is Kagome, Kagome Higurashi."

"Pleased to be of your acquintance Miss Kagome. I go by Sesshoumaru Teller."
