Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha or anyone else in the show Inuyasha. Why would I want to own Inuyasha? Heck, I'd go for Sesshomaru, but alas I don't own him either, just like I don't own Bowling For Soup band members or their lyrics or the song Almost.
Author's Note: Haha another song fic. Whoot! Anyways I just liked this one for Kagome x Sesshomaru, don't ask why, I just do. Anyways if there's a song someone really wants me to do, post it in a review. This is going to be a short fic, three chapters. One from Kagome's side, one from Sesshomaru's side, and one for closing.
Where I almost made out with the homecoming queen
Who almost went on to be miss Texas
But lost to a slut with much bigger breastes
I almost dropped out to move to LA
Where I was almost famous for almost a day
"Kagome?" Sesshomaru asked, tapping the ebony haired girl on the shoulder she turned to face him. Tucking a strand of loose hair behind her ear she looked up at him expectantly. "I need to speak with you."
Shrugging she slid off of her desk after receiving a look from Sango who she had been talking to. "What'd you need Sesshomaru?" Kagome asked following behind him, he didn't answer instead kept walking.
Now, she wasn't to be ignored so easily. Glancing at the back of the taller not to mention older student, she couldn't help but notice how perfect the demon's hair was. How silver, how smooth, how silky it looked. Then it overcame her.
The urge to pull Sesshomaru's hair.
It was one of the dumbest thought's she had ever had, and she knew it too. But the thought was eating at her. Her hand began reaching forward, it flew behind him to perfectly. There was something wrong with him to make it flow that perfect.
It was asking to be pulled.
The way it was bouncing on his back, as if it weighed nothing, and was a light as feathers. The desire to feel the silky-Or maybe it was soft, like kitten fur. Sesshomaru? Like a kitten? She choked back laughter. But it stopped the minute he tucked hair behind his own ear. It wasn't fair he should be able to touch that perfection while she was standing behind him fighting off the burning urge to touch it.
Never mind that it was his hair, never mind that he was the one to take care of it. And never mind that he didn't even think about it She wanted to feel it between her fingers.
No, his hair wasn't asking to be pulled, it was begging to be pulled.
"We are almo-" Sesshomaru stopped in mid sentence as he saw he heard a swish of air, meaning she was moving fast, before he had time to react his head had been yanked back. Kagome let out a small yelp as Sesshomaru fell on top of her.
"Sess....ho...maru..."Kagome breathed heavily, "I can't breath," she said, in a second the pressure was gone, taking in a full breath she sat up.
"This Sesshomaru's hair is to be touched by no one."'
But I guess that doesn't cut it
Almost loved you
I almost wished you would've loved me too
Okay, so it had been stupid. And it was a mistake, but whoever need a man could get so pissy about his hair?
After he had commented about no one touching his hair he had walked away, without offering to help her up. "Gentlemen my ass." Kagome muttered sitting on her bed she hugged her overweight cat. And that was the last time she had seen him for 12 years. No, that was a lie, she'd seen him once, since then.
"And just why am I thinking about him?" Kagome asked herself, she shook her head, scratching the ears of Buyo. Kitten fur, she still smiled when thinking about it. His hair felt better then silk, better then kitten fur. It felt like petals of a flower.
"Sesshomaru the Pansy." Kagome grinned laying back on her bed she rolled over, her thoughts still drifted towards 12 years ago. But this time to the day after.
"Kagome!" Inuyasha called shoving some defenseless kid out of the way. "The bastard left." He had finally reached her, after shoving more kids out of the way.
Miroku and Sango were also making their way through the crowd. "Inuyasha!" Miroku shouted, apparently her pervert of a friend was a bit more sympathetic then her idiot of a friend. Without thinking she dropped her bag to stare at them.
"Gone?!"
Sango picked up my backpack and handed it to her, "Kagome, yesterday, he meant to tell you, and say goodbye."
"Where'd he go?" Kagome asked looking around as if that would bring him back, she bit her lip, there was no mop-No mop was a bad word for his hair. His hair was heavenly. She could witness for that, no his hair was like...Like-
"You know, he was 18." Miroku reminded her. "We're 16, he's off in college." Sang put a comforting hand on her friend's shoulder.
Biting her lip even harder she looked at the circle her friends formed. It seemed small, small and empty without Sesshomaru.
Where I almost did 5 years and then 7 more
Cuz I almost got popped for a fight with a thug
Cuz he almost made off with a bunch of the drugs
That I almost got hooked on cuz you ran away
And I wish I woulda had the nerve to ask you to stay
"Bitch!" A man screamed as Kagome it his arm. Her drugs. Not his. No one took Kagome's drugs...Well she hadn't used them yet. But she was planning on it. And she'd worked hard to get those damn drugs, no addict was going to take them away from her...
Okay, so maybe THAT particular addict was going to take them away from her.
He didn't count though.
And Kagome had to admit it was funny when he was running past the window in the coffee shop she was in after she called the cops to tell them, about how she tried to take the drugs from him, to help him but he beat on her.
No, Kagome didn't believe in revenge, but she believed in staying firm to promises. And she and said no one would take them away.
Other then the cops.
So when Mr.-I-Stole-Kagome's-Precious-Drugs was being tazed, Kagome just watched, not a feeling of remorse within her. "Oh well, I always liked coffee better."
Stirring her coffee absentmindedly she looked down into it, her mind once again falling back into the past.
Resting her head on her head she began twirling a piece of hair, everything was boring with him gone and it had been a year of boring. Not because Sesshomaru was the definition of excitement, but because he always had something knew to talk about, but even when discussing the old subjects, he would bring up new points.
Inuyasha would just argue the same point, over and over. Miroku would simply give in and cop a feel, and Sango agreed with her on most things, and when they didn't, it was rare, and neither cared to argue about it.
So here she was sitting alone in her favorite coffee shop, her DOC as she'd come to know it, actually Sesshomaru had helped, this was were they would Discuss Over Coffee, and those were her favorite days. Because it would start her morning off with spice, or close her day off with some actual thinking, and yet she never went away in a bad mood.
Even when she lost. And when she was happy, well she still left in a good mood.
Some days were ties, some days she won.
But those weren't her favorites either, because inside, she liked the days were, they'd argue, but get distracted. And they'd began to talk, and just talk like a couple. And it was those days were she almost loved him.
Those were her favorites.
Then there it was, that flash of silver, the flash of kittens and silk. Standing up she took the largest bill from her purse, which happened to be large, unluckily for her. Without a second thought she slapped it down and left the shop, only to see the kitten silk turn the corner.
Without a second thought she reached out and grabbed it again, this time Sesshomaru had been turning around to see who was running after him, so when she yanked on his hair, they fell nose to nose. "Ah...hey?"
"Kagome?" Sesshomaru asked his heavenly hair falling into her face, she wanted to run her fingers threw it. Then again if it was on Koga, she'd want it, but since it was on Sesshomaru, it was so much better.
"You're back?" Kagome asked him, not bothering to tell him to stand this time, a hint of hopefulness in her voice.
"No." Sesshomaru stood again, his voice cold. Not like the flicker of emotion he had shown when he said her name.
Gathering herself she also stood, once again he didn't offer to help her. "Why not?" She asked, all the hope she had, had for him to come back, for things to return.
"I have no one waiting for me here." Sesshomaru said before he turned and began walking. If Kagome hadn't been biting her lip in such concentration to restrain herself from calling out to him, she would've noticed him pause, him hesitate, as if hoping for her to say something.
Kagome almost had him again.
But she pulled him back by his hair. And she pulled him away from moving forward with her.
A/N: Okay, so review and it makes me feel super awesome so I put up Chapter 2! Yes, chapter two will continue with the song, and no this is not the full song. And just to repeat myself before someone asks the song is Almost by Bowling For Soup. R&R
