Calendar Girl by silent spring
Chapter One
"Somebody's going to love you."
In a dark room with only scarce moonlight sneaking in sat a girl neatly nestled in the corner singing the words to the song ever and over again as tears fell from her cheeks.
"Tomorrow would be another day."

the next day.
The trees were a swirl of colors as a boy rode past them on his motorcycle. It was mid-Autumn. He drove steadily with a cool and unconcerned demeanor. When he stop, he had arrived at a small cluster of tall, connected, pristine white buildings. He got off his motorcycle and stared.
The girl got to school as early as she usually did and sat on the railing of the art building. She was quiet, deep in thought and upon looking down, she saw a boy.
The boy stared at the girl he saw. To him she didn't matter but he wondered why she was up there, all alone. He looked away and entered the main building.
The girl didn't contemplate on the boy much longer after he had left her sight. She got off the railing and entered her classroom. She took out a new canvas and began to draw.

Ten minutes till the bell would ring.
Students filled the hallways standing at the lockers or in groups of people with their friends. Out of the many factions of the school, a group of three boys stood out among the rest. The group was made up of Miroku Higurashi, Bankotsu Yuramatsu, and Souta Higurashi. Thee three boys seemed to shine among the others, boys and girls alike.
The three boys had grown up with each other and were rich with prestigious families. Miroku was Souta's younger cousin who had come to live with his family when he was ten, both of his parents had parents had passed away. Bankotsu was Souta's closest friend. Everyone tried to appease the group as much as possible, especially Souta, the heir of the Higurashi empire.
The three boys went up the stairs heading to the art room. Inside they found a girl sketching a picture of a boy, but none of the boys could make out who he was. Souta placed his hand on the girl's shoulder, "Kagome, who is that? A boy you like?"
"No big brother. Just a stranger passing by."
Souta stared as his baby sister continued to draw the boy, her hand was slow but her simple darkening gave the boy a more realistic feel. Miroku and Bankotsu who were standing on either side of Kagome looked at each other and shook their heads. They both had no clue who the boy was. Souta gave a his sister a peck on her forehad and the three boys left. Again, Kagome was left by herself in the room.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Souta pondered hard. Kagome was his little angel, younger than him by two years. He loved her dearly and he would do everything possible to keep her safe. He was her protector. Their father was gone most of the time due to his buisness trips and Souta understood that it was also another way to forget his mother. His mother who had died when he was only five. He had to be Kagome's protecter. The thought of a boy with Kagome made him uneasy. He wasn't ready to just let her grow up yet.
Miroku stared at the back of Souta's head as they made their way to the Film room. He knew Souta like the back of his hand having grown up with him. He understood. To him, Kagome was like his little sister as well.
Bankotsu walked at a rather slugish pace. He had first met Souta after he had saved Kagome from a dog when she was five. They had become best friends because of Kagome and so he too understood the question that was on everyone's mind. Who could that boy be?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The boy had entered the building and after filling out the paperwork the teachers had told him that he would be placed in the Film section. And so, he climbed the steps that entered the Film room where he saw boys lazily sitting around with no teacher in sight. Unsure of what to do he stood nearby the door.
Souta and the others entered their classroom where they saw a boy standing next to the door. They couldn't tell who it was because his back faced them. "Hey you, move." The boy turned around after hearing Souta's voice and as they stood face to face, the theree boys recognized him to be the boy in the potrait that Kagome drew.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Students noisely filled the art room and Kagome quickly threw a sheet over the picture she had been drawling. The students in the class ignored her. Though they may have done much to respect Souta and the others, they were never sure what to do when it came to the quiet, pale yet beautiful Kagome. Not wanting to offend her get on Souta's bad side, they treated her with care but left her alone to her own devices.
The bell rang and a young man who looked like a college student entered and greeted the students. Mr. Nakamura was the art teacher and probably the most popular teacher at the Hejii Art School because he was fresh out of college. Mr. Nakamura told the students that today would be a free day since he was in a good mood. The students cheered and he walked around the classroom, stopping at Higurashi's seat. The truth was Nakamura's younger brother would be starting school at Hejii today and he was anxious that it would go well. "What are you dong Kagome?" The young girl was staring at the white sheet she had thrown over her picture earlier and seemed startled for a moment by his voice. She replied she was thinking. Mr. Nakamura chuckled and lifted the sheet off and to his suprise, the portrait was of his brother!
