Endless Love

Summary: She was broken and fragile. She closed herself from the world and formed a tiny bubble around her heart that let no one through. He had always pined for her, desperate for her touch. Slowly, with each nightly meeting, he finds his place in the heart of Kagome.

Chapter One

Step One

She ran and ran. She knew not where her feet where taking her, and at the moment she didn't care, she just wanted to get away from him. She finally stopped when she tripped over a tree root and hit the ground with a hard thud.

Tears spilled from her eyes as she lay on the forest floor, covered in leaves and twigs. She slowly got up and pulled her knees to her chest and began to rock back and forth, a hand on her cheek. She slowly went into hysterics remembering what just happened.

"I saw you with her!" Kagome yelled, her chest heaving up and down trying not to cry. "What do I care?!" InuYasha sent her a glare and spat at her feet. "Why...what does that dead clay pot have that I don't!" In the blink of an eye InuYasha was in front of her, and backhanded her. "You will not speak of Kikyo like that," his eyes were shadowed by his bangs and for the first time around him, Kagome was scared. Her delicate hand touched her cheek and she recoiled from the touch. She took wary steps backwards until she turned and went into a all out run. InuYasha didn't bother to follow her.

She let out a heart wrenching scream and fell backwards and began to kick her feet out as her fist pounded the earth. She arched her back and let out another scream until she lay still. She finally picked herself up slowly and began to walk as if she was in a trance with her deep blue eyes clouded over.

He had broken her, plain and simple. All the times she bottled her emotions finally came out, all the times she had smiled forgotten. More crystalline tears fell as she found herself closing in on the Bone Eaters well. Once in front of it, she collapsed and hung her head, her body limp.

She wanted to go home, to run to the safety of her own time, to run to the comfort of her mother and never come back. She knew, however, she had to come back. She had responsibilities in the Sengoku Jidai, whether she liked it or not, but for now she would leave.

Kagome placed her arms on the lip of the well and picked herself up. She leaned into it and was about to just let herself fall when she felt the aura of a strong youkai. She felt her self stop, faced veiled by a mass of raven hair.

"Miko," his voice send chills through her body. "Why are you crying?" Kagome lay absolutely still, pondering her options. Should she just fall forward, or answer the taiyoukai? She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "Inu...Yasha..." The taiyoukai had to strain his ears just to hear her. He took slow steps towards her, the object of his desires.

His hand startled her and she began to lash out and scream, falling face first into the well, but the familiar dizzy sensation didn't meet her, the blue light didn't shine through her closed eyes. She quickly snapped her eyes open and found she was suspended in mid air facing the taiyoukai.

"No! No! Please don't hit me, Sesshoumaru!" she began to struggle in his arms until she felt herself pressed against a hard chest with strong arms around her body. Her body went into a fit of violent tremors, causing him to hold her closer and tighter. "Kagome, tell me what happened," she stopped struggling at hearing the softness of his voice. She felt that oh-so-familiar tugging at her heart every time the crossed paths. Each time their paths crossed, she would trust him more, knowing if he wanted harm to come to them he could easily do it.

"InuYasha, he...hit me," she began to blink her eyes vigorously, trying fight away the tears. "I just confronted him about going with the clay pot and he hit me!" She felt the coldness of the wells rim on her bottom, then a firm, but gently, grip on her shoulders. "And you wish to return home?" Kagome looked up at the taiyoukai and slowly nodded her head. "Then, I will keep the whelp away until you return." Kagome's eyes grew wide as she stared at Sesshoumaru as if he had grown an extra head. "Why are you being so nice, Sesshoumaru?" she whispered. "Answers will be given in due time, Kagome. Now go, return whenever you see fit. You won't be bothered by the hanyou." Kagome nodded and allowed Sesshoumaru to ease her into the well and the dizzy sensation overtook her, followed by the bright light shining through her closed eyes.

Kagome landed on her feet and teetered until she fell. She curled herself into a tight ball and laid at the bottom of the well. After a few moments of recollecting herself, she slowly climbed out of the well and threw herself over the rim. She used it for support and made her way to the shoji door and slid it open, the only light was a small street light. She stepped out of the well house and closed the shoji doors and walked towards her house.

Once inside, she stumbled up the stairs and went into her mothers room. She eyed her mother for a moment before closing the door with a soft click and tiptoeing on to the other side of the bed. "Mom?" the woman in the bed stirred a little, but still didn't wake. "Mom?" she called a little louder and the woman opened her eyes. "Kagome?" Kagome nodded her head and felt a lump in her throat. "Oh, mom!" Kagome threw herself on the bed and into her mothers arms and began to sob.

"Oh, dear, that's horrible!" Kagome began to cry into her mothers chest again as the woman tried to comfort her child. "Kagome," Utada felt helpless. "Please, stop crying, koi." Another tremor over took Kagome's body and her crying died down to a few sniffles. She hated when her mother got like this, and she wasn't going to get worked up because of her. "Now, go take a shower, koi. I'll go start fixing breakfast." Utada waited until Kagome removed herself from her arms until she got out of bed. She followed her daughter out of the room.

Kagome fiddled with the cold/hot water knobs trying to get the water the perfect temperature. She quickly stripped of her clothing and felt the water again. Perfect. She got in and lifted her face, letting the water splash over her, all down her body and through her hair. She rubbed her face and closed her eyes and stood, letting the water 'wash away her sins.'

She slowly opened up her rose water shampoo and quickly lathered her hair and rinsed. Then, she grabbed a sponge and poured on her rose and sandalwood soap and began to scrub her body relentlessly. She scrub and scrubbed until her skin was raw and red. She wanted him off of her. She turned the cold water down some so the hot water wasn't yet scalding, but wasn't lukewarm. Hot enough to create steam, but not hot enough to burn the skin. She stood, letting the water cascade down her body. She let her head fall and she sighed, then made sure all the soap was rid of her body and turned the water off. She stood still for a moment, then began to wring her hair of excess water. She got out and put on her bathrobe and ambled toward her room.

Kagome walked over to her dresser and pulled out a pair of ripped and pre-washed jeans and black panties/bra set and threw them on her untouched bed and stalked to her closet. She threw the door opened and eyed her selection of shirts and finally pulled out a pink lace camisole and threw it on the bed beside her pants. She untied the robe and let it fall in a heap at her feet. She quickly put on her panties and bra and put on her camisole then walked to the mirror and stared at her image.

What does that clay pot have that I don't? She slowly moved her hands down her curves, then over her breasts. She turned to the side and looked at her profile view. She had a nice profile view and front view. She wasn't fat, but she had hips and curves. She didn't have the biggest chest, but she still had one...more than that clay pot of course. She sighed and pulled her jeans on and walked down stairs, following her nose to the dining room.

Later that day, she found herself sitting outside on her old swing. She was beyond determined that she would go back to the Sengoku Jidai era a whole new girl. A different body, personality, hair, face, everything. She was going to start over there, and she was going to make InuYasha sorry he ever hurt her. But one thing was on her mind, why was Sesshoumaru so nice? She stood up out of the swing and walked back into the house and picked up the phone and scheduled herself in for a hair appointment.

When she came back she ran up the stairs to her room. Her hair had grown out a lot since she came to the Sengoku Jidai, and so she got a lot cut off. It now came just to her shoulder bones, her bangs falling just below her eyes in long layers. She now had dark magenta highlights in her hair. She smirked. Part one of her transformation from old Kagome, to new Kagome was complete.
