Aboard a Pirates Ship by Kimonno Rose

Ship attacked!

Aboard a Pirates Ship

1763

Black hair swayed in the breeze, the ocean waves gently touched the sandy beach, and the water was carried away, out to the ocean once again.

A beautiful young woman stood on a cliff over looking the salty waters. Her light breath appeared white in the early morning air. The town would awaken about an hour from now but at this time, she was the only awake.

She wore a beautifully elegant gown made of the finest silk. The color was light blue with cream-colored pearls aligning the bodice of the dress. Her long raven black hair was down a little beyond her waist. The ruffles of her dress swayed in the salty breeze as seagulls sung their ocean song.

She continued to stand on the cliff watching the sun peak over the oceans waves. Turning her head, she looked down at the town by the shore noticing the lights inside the homes flicker on and knew that her parents would awaken soon as well.

How she dreaded that moment. She knew that today the king of England would send his advisors to sea-shire port to take her and her family away. Her father was chosen to govern a newly opened port that was far across the sea. This place was her childhood home and she could not leave it behind.

With her father being the governor of a port in the Caribbean and a member of the kings royal court she had to travel a lot. Well, actually she chose to travel with him. Kagome loved to be at sea. Nevertheless, she would always return to this spot.

She pushed the thought aside for the moment to enjoy the scenery before her. The sun in its morning colors was shinning on the water with the seagulls gently gliding over the surface looking for breakfast.

She noticed a small black dot on the horizon but paid no attention to it, knowing that was the ship carrying the men that would make a dramatic change in her life.

If she had not turned to walk away, she would have noticed the second black dot sailing from the left toward the island.

The salty waves crashed upon the ships wooden sides, the masts moved in the breeze.

The doors to the captain's quarters opened to reveal a man dressed in traditional captain's attire. (AN: Think captain hook only dark blue.)

Walking up the stairs, the man spoke. "Bankotsu, this fog has come out of nowhere and will increase the chances of an attack. Be aware of the surrounding waters."

The man referred to as Bankotsu stepped out of the foggy cover, with a large smile on his face.

"Sir, a pirate attack this close to shore is unlikely to the least." He said with a laugh.

The captain glared at him through narrowed eyes. "This is the Caribbean, pirates swarm these waters. Each more dangerous than the next."

"Sir, you must not be so cautious."

"I am cautious so you won't die."

Bankotsu rolled his eyes and stayed silent for the moment knowing that his captain had good intentions.

He walked over to the rail of the ship and looked out over the sea that was covered in a foggy mist. Hopefully the day would clear up before they approached the island.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

White sails moved gently in the light breeze.

The captain's face was looking at the clouds above the fog.

'A storm.' He thought.

Letting out a sigh he looked out to the sea. He noticed a shadow in the mist slowly making its way toward them. As the figure got closer, he could make it out to be a ship but before he was able to find out what type of ship it was a canon was fired and planks of wood flew from the side of the ship while men screamed and ran around trying to find its attacker.

"We are under attack." Yelled the captain, though the fact was obvious.

"By whom?" another asked.

"Good question." Said a low cold voice from behind.

All men on the ship turned to a bone-chilling site. A man stood on the rail of the opposing ship holding onto a rope from the masts. His long silver hair swayed in the now raging wind, when a lighting bolt lit up the sky his golden eyes flash red, he snarled at the helpless men baring his long sharp fangs.

"The golden devil." One of the men whispered.

The silver haired man laughed coldly.

"Yes, it would appear that you are correct." He lifted his hand, with one swift movement pulled out his sword from his side, and summoned his men. "Now you die."

The Pirates charged to the other ship, slicing all men who stood in there way or all men no matter what.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

The last sailor feel in a pool of blood.

"That was, disappointing." said the silver haired man.

"Yes, I agree." commented a man with short black hair and violet colored eyes as he exited the foggy cover of the ship.

A bomb of thunder erupted from the clouds above as rain began to pour.

"Men back to the ship. We head for land." Said their captain pointing toward their vessel.

As the last of the men went back to their own ship, the rain continued to wash all of the blood on the ship over its edges.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

The rain poured down on the stain glass window. Inside the large room, the lord of the house looked out over the bay with a displeased look on his face. 'Those men should be here right now.' He thought.

A woman came into the room. She was wearing a golden colored dress with white ruffles along the skirt. Her bodice was a white cream color dress with black beads crisscrossing on her cleavage area. Her jet-black hair was up in a bun with pearls in its silky strands.

She walked over to him and spoke in a gentle tone. "They will be here soon, do not worry so much. The storm is probably delaying them. Dinner is ready, come and join the family." She put a hand on his shoulder when she noticed that he was still looking at the bay with the same look on his face that he had all day.

He felt her hand and turned to face her.

"I will be there soon." He said covering her hand with his.

She smiled, placed a kiss on his cheek, and walked out of the room quietly shutting the door behind her.

'I wonder how she feels about this whole development.'

Looking at the palm trees swaying in the wind, he could tell that a hurricane was close.

He only hoped the government's ship would arrive before the storm hit maximum force.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

On a cliff close to the governor's mansion, two men stood with lines caste into the water. Some people would call them crazy to fish in such weather.

The wind picked up and the rain became wilder.

"I think that we should head back." One of the two said. He had little hair and what hair he did have was a dark red.

"Alright, the storm will pick up soon. We have enough fish for now." Packing up their fish the headed down the cliff when the man in front halted in his steps.

"What is it?!" yelled the red haired man from the back, trying to project his voice over the raging storm.

Lifting his nose in the air he spoke. "I can smell blood." (AN: Yes, he is a demon)

He walked to the edge of the lower cliff and peaked down at the cavern below.

"Holy Shit!!" yelled the man as e gazed upon the gruesome site. Without a word, he ran to the town to alert them of what horror awaits.

'What!!' the left behind puzzled for a moment before running to the same spot on the edge and looking over. What he saw made his blood run cold. A government ship drifting with the waves against the solid rock walls of the island. Men lay dead on the ship soaked in their still bloody clothes; some of them had their eyes open with a look of pure horror and shock. These eyes just stared back at him.

Then he looked up to see another ship coming to the island. At first glance the ship looked to be that of a merchant sailor, but your eyes traveled up to where a British flag should be, you would see it; a pirate flag. Now the man was terrified to the point where his blood was ice. He was afraid to do anything but stare at his last sight.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

The storm was ragging full force now and the ocean waves knocked the ship back and forth. The wind blew sails in a rapid pace while lightning crashed in the sky appearing so close to the sails it was nerve wracking. At the wheel of the ship stood the captain. His silver hair blew rapidly in the massive storm, and despite the storms, high velocity he made it seem easy to steer such a large ship.

"Captain, shore is upon us." Shouted the man in the crows nest. (AN: You know what I am talking about right. The basket that is located on the top of the ship.)

He smiled viciously "Alright men, prepare to dock and be ready to kill." They all complied.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Kagome watched as the rain pelted the window of her room. The lightning had become more frequent now and she wondered if the ship was going to make it over the storm seeing as how they had not yet arrived. Kagome hoped that they would never some and than she would never have to leave.

A loud crash from downstairs brought her out of her thoughts. She opened the door quietly and went to the grand staircase that led to the main entrance. She looked around the corner to see a man soaking wet and trembling with fear. Her father and two royal guards stood looking over the man as he tried to say something.

"I saw a ship with men that lay dead on its dock. They were all slaughtered."

Her father had a look on his face that gave Kagome the message, something was indeed wrong. Kagome continued to listen as her father spoke.

"I have no doubt this is the work of pirates..." Kagome's eyes widened "I must alert my family and get them out of here now before the attackers come ashore."

Kagome decided that she had hear enough and ran to her mothers room to tell her that she and the others had to leave the island now.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

"Mother!" She turned to look at her daughter who had an urgent look on her face.

"What is it dear?" She asked growing worried from the look on her daughters face.

"Mom, dad says that we have to get out of here now. Hurry pirates are coming to the island!"

Her mother's eyes widened as she stood from her chair and ran to her daughter.

"Than let us leave the back way and go to the ship." Her Daughter nodded and the two women ran down the hall. To run into Kagome's father.

He looked at the two women, grabbed both of their hands, and began to run.

"We must leave." Was all he said as he dragged the two females behind?

The three went out into the raging hurricane as they got into the carriage that was prepared for their departure.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

The ship docked itself on the shore and the pirates instantly began to run onto the land killing all people that stood in their way. Men, women, children, and infants, no one was safe.

They ran into the houses and shot at the people inside.

By the time, the governors carriage got to the port people were running around trying to escape the killing pirates. All of them screaming with looks of horror on their faces.

Kagome gasped when she saw how many of the men and women and children all lay dead on the ground. This moment would forever be plastered in her memory.

"Kagome, you must not look at the town. We must leave. Go get aboard the ship." Said her father.

Kagome could only nod and run against the wind and rain to get to the ship before she was spotted.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Kagome and her family along with a few of the guards that escaped were aboard the ship but before they could set sail a canon ball hit the side of the ship and caused it to rock vigorously. Kagome held on for dear life but the wind was to much and she lost her grip. She could hear her mother and fathers cries as she feel to the depths.

All Kagome could think was 'What now?' as she sank to the bottom of the bay, and darkness took over her mind.
