Love Beyond Borders by Ayano_chien

Prologue

Her frail little body kept shivering under her thick layers of clothing. It had been snowing since this morning and it seems that the weather had just gotten worse. Most of the graves in the cemetery are already buried deep inside the blankets of snow. She walked around trying to find the grave she came here for.

She saw his grave not faraway from where she was standing. She took little steps towards it, afraid that her feet would just break down. Clutching the bouquet of roses in her chest she kneeled onto the snow beside the grave and gently dug out the snow piled on top of it.

'Loving brother and son' she read the inscription on the marble.

She placed the flowers on top and held out her hands letting snow fall on top of it.

'He lived a life of sorrow and agony which he doesn't deserve. How could a kind hearted person have to suffer like that? No one ever dare know him before judging him' she thought as she wiped the tears that escaped from her eyes.

It had been three years since she last visited this country. Memories of him kept haunting her as each days passed. At first she thought that it would be as easy to let, but the more she want to forget the more she remembers. The pain in her heart kept growing and soon she felt numb and tired.

She kept her mask intact, her ever so cheerful face, not letting anyone catch her and worry about her state of weakness and distress. She lived her life like she did before, laughing, going to work and enjoying parties till dawn. After she was left alone in her room she would curl up into a ball and cry, feeling the emptiness in her heart.

She sighed after remembering those things she had gone through before deciding to visit his grave. Honestly speaking she felt good after coming here. She turned the car engine on and drove out the cemetery.

Snow kept falling heavier and seems that a blizzard may be up ahead. The temperature grew colder and she shivered. Winds blew more violent than before. After a little while she started to fidget and her heart thumped in her chest harder. She was already having difficulty in navigating the path she was going through.

She bent over and grabbed the cellular phone inside her compartment. She was about to start pressing the keys when she saw a vehicle run towards her.

Her body stiffened as it came close towards her. The impact shook her body. Sounds of clashing metals filled through the air. Silence came and the sound of wind, blowing violently like a wild animal, where the only sounds heard after the horrible event.

Her whole life seemed to flash right before her eyes like she was watching her very own movie. She moved her tired eyes and almost imagined a figure kneeling besides her.

'It was him' she thought and smiled weakly before coughing out, a mass of blood flew out of her mouth.

'Maybe were not meant to be together in this life, but we would definitely find each other in the next and love each other for all eternity' those were the words he promised her before death took him away.

Her vision began to blur, body felt numb of all the injuries she had.

'Finally we would be together again' with one last breath death claimed her.

Her body lay lifeless in the cold sheet of snow a small smile on her peaceful face.
