Darkside of the Moon by Lavender Cake

Prologue

Prologue

Part I The beginning...

"It was said when the moon covers the sun, the earth will submerse in darkness, it is then we will when a old century war will end, and we will all have the peace we have been searching for...

As it was said the war started from the cold betrayal of the humans, they had betrayed our trust from when the Daimyo of the North killed the wife and raped the child of the West, so forever we are to be doomed a world of killing and blood shed.

For many years Youkai and the Humans had killed each other, after the fall of the East, the war had only worsened. And it was then that we had to move to the true forms of our ancestors, and it was when the humans devolved a power to enforce the law of God, and claimed we had been born of the devil. There spawn...

So we fought and fought, no mercy will or would be shown to those caught alive." Came a soft melodic whisper as she patted her son's silver head, her clawed slender digits moving through those short silken strands. "Mother, why is it so important to win this war?" he asked honey orbs looking up in curiosity, his mother smiled gently as she took her sons hand and walked along the large stone steps of there mountain home.

The Youkai much like the humans hated each other, she had been born into this war, as her son was, and she knew he would grow up and lead his father's army's to slaughter. Youkai much more powerful then the Humans had the greater advantage, yet... it was as it would see that the Humans with there holy power had come and beaten them back into a horrid tension filled peace.

"Sesshoumaru..." she said as she knelt down, the sound of flesh and silk melded into the cold stone, as she came eye to eye with her young son. "This is life, enjoy it before you grow up" she stated calmly as the younger child gave her a confused stare, what wish was it for any child she birthed be born into a world where death wouldn't corrupt it in such a way.

"Mother?" he questioned before there was a loud crash from the east part of the building. "Ambush!" some one called out, while the men where away. They had a slim chance, woman and children alone! As she looked at her son, she stood and took his hand and dragged him along the garden's wall and stashed him within a hole within the ground. "Don't come out!" she ordered him coldly before she slammed the door down, and turned on the threats. Arrow's pinched with white and tinted pink hit the youki-covered walls shattering it down.

She stalked up to see several of the servants get hit with those purity arrow's and they crumbled writhing and screaming in pain as the holy energy ate at there flesh and melted them into bone. Leaving nothing but there bones. She knew her son would listen as she turned and moved down to the front hall where several of the servants had died and the limited amount of guards where fighting the humans who were raiding her home. Tossing her silver hair over her shoulder she saw several Priests and Miko's aim for her. This wouldn't do, no, not at all.

As she held up her claws her fingers glowed with sick ooze as it dripped from her fingers and burnt away at the wood that she stood firmly on. As the arrow's shot towards her she slashed down the poisons air burning through the wood of the arrows disintegrating in mid air as she lunged towards them. Her finger nails tarring through each human that came into with her. Blood stained and dirty from the ground below as she took out the large amount of humans who dare come into her home. And now she faced the Miko's and Monks as they circled around her, eye's bleeding into crimson as she growled out her threats. She could take them out...

"Demon" one of them hissed at her, pointing an arrow straight for her. She titled her head as her once ivory hair fell into place, as she then would of leaned foreword, her spine cracking and misplacing as she felt her incisors elongate. A crimson smog floating around her person as she lifted her head and let out a screech of pain as she felt her body press and twist into her massive form, the thirty foot white Inu as she elegantly wagged her tail knocking several of the monks and miko's off there feet. Her jowl's open into a cruel sneer as she lunged at them all deflecting their powers and techniques with such skilled grace.

It was when she noticed the arrival of someone she hadn't seen; her armor gleamed within the deadly light of the setting sun, her miko's outfit adorned in navy and white. Her ebony hair blew against the harsh breeze as it moved cruelly against her armor. She held something within the palm of her hand, her crystal hues stoic as she whispered something, that she couldn't hear before she held it up, the what ever she had been holding shined brightly, she felt her youki urge her foreword, her vision hazy as she lunged for the tiny woman who looked saddened by the task that was about to happen.

As the young Miko felt her own skin burning as she watched the elegant Inu-Youkai come for her she felt the small orb she had in her hand shift and burn against the youkai, the horrid smell of fur and burning flesh hit her nose as the Inu let out a cold cry of pain and shifted back to her human form.

Not knowing what happened she felt the intangible pain as that thing she held burned through her as she saw his smiling face before she felt her body twist and shape back to it's humanoid form. She landed in a heap burnt and dieing, as the only one standing was the Miko as she leaned down and pushed away her once beautiful ivory hair. "I'm sorry," she whispered as the tormented look shadowed her once beautiful features. She spat at the miko before she felt her breathing hitch, the Fates were cruel bitches to her as she turned her head to the side watching the young girl leave. Her vision blurred... she felt her breathing stop as a pressure burnt against her lungs as she tried to inhale the air she so desperately needed.

She smiled then as the quarter moon hit the horizon shining down blandly before she felt her skin freeze over. It actually hurt to die... how ironic, when she was young she hadn't been told that killing one hurt, her own Mother had been wrong. She laughed before she gently turned her head to the night above.

Sesshoumaru felt cold at his mother's harsh words, he could fight he had been training with father since he was seven, now the age of twenty in the Youkai years he hadn't reached maturity. Focused on how stubborn his Mother could be he felt something wash over him before he covered his hues from the burning sensation a sudden bright light had caused. And then it was silent, not sure what to think he pushed open the moss covered doors and stepped out, carnage lay covering the once green grass and white steps, and clean floors. He moved out, "Mother?" he called his silver locks brushing his jaw line as he cocked his head at the burnt silk heap in front of the house, the doors had been blown off as his honey hues widened and he ran with inhuman speed towards his Mother who lay there breathing labored with a smile on her face.

He looked stunned, her clothing had been burnt while blood pooled from what seemed to be a horrid gash in her side. She looked at him for a moment, and sadness pierced her silvery orbs. "Sesshoumaru?" she asked lightly as she smiled then, joy filling her. "Mother, your hurt..." he said fear lacing his young childish voice. She laughed and coughed as crimson trickled down her pale scratched chin. "Don't worry," she said as he took her much larger finer hand. She looked horrible as she continued to stare at him. "I'll get father... don't die!" he yelled as he started to move only to have someone gripping the sleeve of his hoari, "Don't" she said sternly before Sesshoumaru kneeled down and kept his eyes on her. "Your dieing Mother?" he asked as his face turned from fear to stoic as she could tell from the way his hues stared that he was sad.

"It's alright, it's my fate," she said lightly as she shut her eyes only to have her son shake her several moment's later. She cracked open an eyelid to stare at him; his face was etched with worry fear and sadness. "Don't worry," she said again as she placed her bloody hand against his clean cheek. As he would of bent into her hand much like a canine begging for affection she smiled. "Your Father will come, I'm sure he can see the smoke, and smell the blood." Sesshoumaru nodded as he etched closer to his Mother. "Why are you going to leave me?" he asked, though no emotion came into his voice she could still tell he was on the verge of tears. Her dear son, she laughed again before she shut her eyes, it was started to get worse.

And she knew she couldn't last long. As she already smelt the fresh rain and pine smell of her mate, she smiled and let her arm fall limply. Inu-Taisho was on his way, more likely enough to leave behind his army, which was probably scouting to come see if they were fine. She laughed again before she felt Sesshoumaru shaking her. "Let it be, my fate?" Sesshoumaru growled, he didn't like her answer as she felt her breath hitch and just stop; the wound from her back had flooded her lungs. She gasped before she fell lifeless. Sesshoumaru looked on in horror at his Mother's death as he felt the ground underneath him shake and rumble. He looked to where the noise was coming from as a large howl echoed through the air making Sesshoumaru's fine hair stand on edge as a large Inu came and shifted and deformed itself until it took the form of his Father.

Inu no Taisho had been fighting with the humans, but from there faint victory came the scent of blood and holy power among the wind. He stopped in mid battle, as another's sword had slipped and stabbed through his shoulder, he killed the Human instantly before he had smelt the blood of his beloved against the wind. And no trace of their only son, he hurried to leave all behind, as not moving fast enough he moved to his true form to come in view of his home spouting a thick smog of black smoke, he hurried faster, smelling more of his son, and the hard pants and thick blood stank of his mate. He growled as he felt the back of his neck burn and a wisp of smoke faded. His mate was dead.

The pain a little too much for him, he stopped a mere small mile from his home and raised his head and let out a echoing howl, the sound moved the birds and silenced the battle field and killed the daylight as the moon had already risen. And then he charged foreword only to see his son by the fallen Inu-Female he transformed and moved silently, as by the looks of things they had been attacked by the Humans while he was out. Filled with grief and rage he looked down at his son who seemed too badly shaken to say anything, for when he tired nothing but a choking noise had come out. He kneeled down and took his wife's icy hand. He scowled darkly as Sesshoumaru from the corner of his eye cowered and looked away as if in pain by the site.

"Yue?" he questioned as he picked up the fallen female, his clothing instantly turning crimson from the blood that spilled from her open wounds when he moved her from her spot. "Yue!" he said a bit louder as if trying to get her awake he shook her lightly, but nothing... He snarled before hugging her limp form to his rigid person. "Don't worry," he said before picking up her lifeless corpse. "Sesshoumaru..." perking to the sound of his father's voice he looked a little stoic. "Wait there..." he said coldly before he moved towards his bedchambers. Walking down the blood-covered corridors he moved to their room, the place is completely destroyed as though they had been looking for someone, or something. He scowled before placing his beloved against the futon gently and he kneeled down. He brushed his hands against her burnt and once pale soft flesh.

He couldn't say anything, he lowered his head and looked to the roof and scowled, what had he done wrong? No answer for him in the least, as he stood he moved down the halls the litted torches were pulled from the walls as the place was set a flame, and he moved down the halls with predatory grace, until he reached the front hall where he had left his son, the boy's eyes wide as the whole place was engulfed within parching flames. "No, Mother!" he cried as he dashed foreword. His Father stopped him his arm wrapped around the small child as the two stood outside the house as the flames licked and killed all those who had died within the grounds. "Father, Mother is inside!" Sesshoumaru cried out frantically before he looked up to see his father's hooded face. "No, Sesshoumaru..." he said sternly before the young pup stared to struggle, "Mother!" he cried before he was picked up by his father who held him close, "Let it go" he said softly before he turned back not really wanting to see his son watch his only home blow up into flames.

Sesshoumaru clutched onto his father before he buried his face in his father's nape. "Why?" he asked his father who said nothing, he could feel the flames licking across his skin in a pale heat as he clutched his father harder. He didn't cry, he was told not to mourn the loss of a loved one, to rejoice. But it was hard to rejoice for that person when she died... and she was his mother. His father who cradled him gently turned into a side profile before he saw his general and second in command come to meet him, the horror itched on there faces as they watched there home being eaten by fire. "Dono?" his general had asked coming up to them as he eyed Sesshoumaru in his Lords arms. "What happened?" Inu-Taisho looked devoid as he looked to the youkai who had served him for more then a hundred years. "Our home, they were ambushed..." as the words sank in his second in command's eyes went wide before he bolted to the burning house. "No one survived..." the second in comand let out a cry of outrage and pain as he fell to his knee's, he and the several other's male and female Youkai who were out in battle were the only one's left.

The humans should feel as though they've won, he would get them back. As he turned to his general he spoke coldly. "Kyouya, where is everyone else?" his General stiffened. "On there way back here Dono..." Taisho cursed under his breath, as his first in command didn't look ready to go back into battle. "Go, and tell them to go east of here. Between the caves and mountains..." Kyouya nodded as he turned back to his first in command. "Satoshi..." he murmured before the other Inu Youkai turned his head. "Dono...?" he questioned no doubt the pain hidden within the other males pine gaze.

"What do we do Dono?" Satoshi asked sullenly before he picked himself up, his child... his mate, all gone... As the youkai hissed he looked to his forearm where the mating mark vanished, she was dead. He frowned as he looked back at his Lord. "We rebuild," he was told and Satoshi merely nodded in acceptance, it was best to leave things alone.

Sesshoumaru looked on in horror as the black crumbled, his mother, their family of people who lived in the house with them, were all-dead, they had no choice but to move on....

Part II Swords of Beyond, Present and of the Dead...

Two hundred years later....

Sesshoumaru looked on with annoyance as he bounded back away from his father, who stood there in the dojo wooden sword outstretched to him, two hundred years passed since the death of his mother, things had been going rather normal, the Youkai and Human's had ceased there war for the time being, as after the death of his mother and several others. They had moved on, Satoshi who was to his left held the wooden sword down pointed at his feet, while Kyouya to his right held the sword pointed directly at him.

This training had been going on for years, at the age of two hundred and twenty, as in youkai years he had just recently reached the maximum puberty of his kind, as one would say sixteen in human alikeness and awareness of the world. As his father and the two other Inu-Youkai came at him he jumped up, twirling around he had Satoshi come at him first, lunging the two wooden sticks clashed as Sesshoumaru was pushed up. He flipped and landed in a crouching position as Kyouya came at him next who skill fully tossed the stick towards his head, Sesshoumaru ducked only to have Kyouya and that perfect inhuman speed raise his leg and kicked Sesshoumaru in the midriff.

He felt flying back as his Father came at him this time; his silver hair flew around him as he swung the sword straight for his head, Sesshoumaru blocked perfectly though his father landed a straight kick to the chest and once again Sesshoumaru fell against the wall, as he looked to where Kyouya had tossed his practice sword and he picked it up. As he came at his father both swords in hand as he swung bother around, of which his father blocked expertly as Satoshi came at his back and knocked him into Kyouya who landed a fist to his face. Sesshoumaru came to the floor, growling in agitation as he picked himself up in enough time before his father slashed in a downwards motion only catching the black tie which Sesshoumaru kept his hair bound.

His silver hair came loose and fell just a little bit past his shoulders. His father smirked at him as he looked at Satoshi and then Kyouya as all three of them attacked him at once, Sesshoumaru bounded off the wall towards Satoshi who tossed him like he was a light sack of feathers and he landed on his back. Kyouya picked up his and Sesshoumaru's blades and knelt down and lunged at the young Youkai, and twisted around, Sesshoumaru didn't exactly see the man come at him as he caught both ends of the wooden sticks and from the force he was pushed into the near by wall, as the stank of his blood was thick in the air.

His father who smiled spoke first. "That's enough for today," he said sternly as Sesshoumaru picked himself up and wiped his nose against is bare arm smearing the blood. His father stretched his arms over his head before turning to Kyouya, speaking about a treaty with the Okami Youkai who was bounded to the south of them. Satoshi who came to him smirked, the other youkai's hair was pulled into a messy ponytail, and the blonde hair fell in a straight mass to his hips. While his pine green hues were teasing. "Not bad Prince" he said, as he looked bored all of a sudden. "Next time keep your eye on the weapon, not the person wielding it..." Sesshoumaru snorted and ignored him.

He didn't care much for being razzed by the elder Youkai, as he looked to his father who cut him a glance turned back to his General. The General too would probably bother him all the same as his ebony hair fell to his mid back in lazy curls. And white eyes shown with an intense fire while the copper tone of the other Youkai's skin gave him like many youkai an unearthly appeal.

"Sesshoumaru" jerking his attention to his father he wondered over, very much like his father he had the same silver hair, if not a bit lighter from his mother. His father clapped him on the back and smirked. "Your getting better" Sesshoumaru felt his pride swell, "Thank you Father," he stated as his face remained stoic, Kyouya snorted. "You should keep your eye on the person wielding the weapon, not the weapon..." Satoshi glared, "No, it's the other way around" His father rolled his eyes; Taisho who pulled on the front of his yukata stared at his son. "Come," he said while Sesshoumaru followed leaving the two Youkai to fight amongst themselves.

As he and father made there way down the halls he looked on, it had taken about fifty years to rebuild there home. His own home present among the many small houses within the large stone gates of his new home. Large tree's and hills lay about the terrain of his home, the west more like it. As he stared at his father, he saw the devoid attachment while he spoke and nodded his head to the others.

One day he could be like his father, after watching his mother die, he had been training and made a promise to receive the ultimate conquest of power and slaughter every last one of the humans who were involved with the war at hand. As he looked away he and his father reached his study. The two Youkai came in and sat down his father behind the shortened desk littered in papers and work in general. Sesshoumaru cocked his head while his father seemed to be more interested in the wall then his own son. "I'll be gone for a few days," he stated and Sesshoumaru raised a slender brow, "You will be in charge, I have things to do, and to take care of." Sesshoumaru knowing his father, he wouldn't ask what he was leaving for. Since he wouldn't get an answer out of the elder Youkai.

So Sesshoumaru merely nodded his head, as his Father waved him away. Sesshoumaru got up and moved out of the study and down the hall, silently he stared out at the Gardens in awe. He could recall a time when the world had been so innocent to him, how he wished he held that blind faith within his soul. Sesshoumaru was the heir to the West. And unsure of what his father was to do when he stepped out of the West but he was sure it was for something great, he highly respected his Father. So it was none of his concern to where his Father pleased to go...

Inu-Taisho stared at the bookcase as he heard his Son's footsteps ease away from his study, how he looked like his mother, his chest tightened at the thought of her. The woman had spunk, even when fighting they would fight each other for the mere words either one would say, by accident. Because the way they fought was there love. He smiled slightly as he remembered her the day she told him she was with child...

She hurled the bookcase at him, with such strength he tried to calm her down only to get scrolls in his face, ah the fond memories. Still Sesshoumaru looked much like her, to the crescent moon adorning his brow to the light colour of his eyes and the shine of his silvery hair.

Taisho frowned as she had such a happy expression on her face when she died, she was at peace and he knew it, it still hurt. He stood then and moved to his bedchambers. He changed into his usual clothing of pristine white haori yukata and armor; his pelt fell to the floor as he tied his hair into a high ponytail. He was to be gone some time, and he was sure his son could handle things when told to do so. So with that he left his home to seek out the swords master Totosai...

Taisho had shifted and morphed into his true form of a fifty foot dog, he loved it when he let go, the white fur blew against the current breeze as he ran through the country side to the broken east, barely anything had lived there. Which he was glad for, though the tiny space of land had once been preoccupied with Dragon Youkai he was severely glad that they had all moved on. Twisting back into his humanoid form he stopped short of the broken and disgusting land he felt crumble under his feet, the land was burnt and dead, no tree's and grass grew in the area as far as the eye could see. He cocked his head to the mountain to the fat left; it was a volcano it probably hit this plane of earth, killing all who lived here. He frowned the though was rather sad, though as he continued to look upon the mountain with interest it was almost like a dark cloud loomed overhead. The old man could wait for his request, as he ventured towards the volcano it would seem there was a old cave in the side of the mountain.

Knowing time was of the essence Taisho moved slowly as he stopped a few feet from the cave, there was a rock placed in front with a holy seal against it, he titled his head and headed towards it. Reaching out to touch it as it soon shocked him, electricity flowing around the boulder like it was there to protect what ever was hidden within the cave. Curiosity getting the better of him he placed his hand against the rock as the holy seal reacted to his youki, which he increased subduing out the holy energy snapping the seal, and much like chains moved about the boulder falling off but fell into a mist. And unprepared for the jaki which flooded his senses he pulled back lightly covering his nose with his arm. He didn't speak but raised a dark brow towards the hallow dark cave, the curiosity getting the better of him be moved into the cave, the black energy moved out like water pushing against the rocks as he found a small wooden shrine. And between more seals and that sad shrine sad a long blade of the sorts.

He inched towards it before the seals around the blade like the one outside crackled and shocked him again; he was really getting tired of that... stupid holy shocking power. As he once again ripped each seal off the evil power of the sword leaked off more, polluting his senses, and making his belly flip each time. As each seal was ripped the cave got darker. As he reached for the sword, it flew into his hand and he pulsed, InuTaisho looked plainly shocked as the force of the jaki when he picked it up forced him from the cave in a long hard whoosh. He growled and skid to a halt sword in hand as he vibrated and he titled his head as if curios, like it was trying to talk to him, he placed his other hand against the hilt and pulled the swords out it pulsed and vine like things came out and shot up against his arm. He hissed in sudden pain as they dug past the armor and into the flesh, as if taking in his blood.

It was when he heard a dark voice, 'Hn, I suppose a thank you is in order' the deep monotone vibrated against his skull as he stared hard at the sword. "You're an entity?" he questioned before the sword vibrated as if saying yes. 'I could grant you supreme power...' He thought for a moment and smirked, "Your power is not required." He stated coldly before he slug the sword within the sheath and those vine, vein like things retreated and the sword hummed in anger. Lucky him... he found an evil sword. As he put the sword against his back and it quieted down before he moved onwards his inhuman speed dragging him over the now hot coals of the lava like area, the steam rose and he frowned at the putrid stench of the area, it certainly was hot. As he stopped in front of another cave he titled his head in pure astonishment, that old sword maker lived in the side of a mountain which always spurred lava. Lovely, he snorted before he let go the youki letting the swords smith know he was here.

And with that action being took, he heard rustling and a few unheard curses, as InuTaisho smirked and titled his head as an old man who looked like he was on death's door came out to stare at the man in pristine white.

Sesshoumaru sat outside the door frame of his room the moon hung high in the sky as he didn't feel the same comfort from it as it would with other things, he snorted before he looked at the white flowers which only bloomed at night, he titled his head. The moon blossom as he was told that they were and he looked away as if annoyed by the fact that the moon and flowers reminded him of his mother. Still very unnerving as he lowered his head his silver hair shaded his face away from anyone's view, he hadn't even noticed the Youki come up beside him. "Hey..." came a very femanine voice as he looked up to see a rather odd looking Inu Youkai girl, her lavender tinted hair swirled around her head and held in a very decorative manor as she smiled at him, and knelt down, he kept his face stoic, her red eyes scanned over his frame and Sesshoumaru felt rather uncomfortable under her gaze. "Why do you look so..." she paused before she lifted her finger as though she found the answer. "Sad, and devoid...?" she asked, who the hell was this girl? He raised a brow towards her before he looked away, she was annoying...

"Well... I only asked..." she said in a sing songy voice before she sat on her knee's in front of her, the rustle of silk caught his attention, her kimono like many of the other noble ladies wore the many layers, each layer accented her eyes and hair, a dark blue which over top was a light sky blue and over that was a white, which had navy and light blue vines while black butterflies with red adorning there wings stood out against the colours. "Go away..." he replied sourly as the facial expression she gave him promised death, "Well, here I am, trying to cheer you up, and you reject me? ME!?" she nearly yelled which made Sesshoumaru's ears ring.

She sighed and looked away all heart broken, and she sniffed... Sesshoumaru jerked his head towards her and raised a brow, she was going to cry!? He looked panicked before he sat straighter, the movement catching her attention before she smiled and poked him in the knee. "Your sweet, you don't want me to cry huh?" Sesshoumaru glared at the crazed girl. "My name is Aimi..." she held her hand out to him, Sesshoumaru stared at her hand and gave her a ' I don't want to touch you...' Aimi snarled at him and grabbed his hand and shook it roughly. Sesshoumaru took back his hand and gave her an offended glare. "Why are you here?" he demanded before she smiled brightly... without the help of his father, Sesshoumaru was introduced of the world of girls... and the first girl that he had decided to meet was insane and annoying. Lucky him!

InuTaisho had been sitting there the old man staring at him as though he had something to say, and Taisho was getting more annoyed by the second, "Well... I guess I can make you a sword..." the old man said stroking the string like beard, InuTaisho felt the relief coming back, he really didn't want to threaten the old coot, he looked to close to death anyway, he mentally laughed as he stared at the old man. "Right, this is what I want..." Totosai looked annoyed now. "Since when do the people get what they want?" he rolled his big buggy eyes, Taisho growled. "Since I demanded it," he said coldly and the old fart stiffened lightly. "You already have a sword..." he said pointing to the violent one against his back, "This one talks back" he relied as he could already hear the complaints from the old man and the sword, wow his stress level raised a good lot.

"Fine, what do 'you' want?" the old man asked snidely before Taisho snorted, "One that can revive the dead," Totosai sat stunned for a moment and chuckled. "An abnormal request..." he stated before he eyed the youkai before him, "Something bad must of happened for you to demand such a thing" he stated before he rubbed his chin and ran his skinny fingers down his beard. Good, he was considering the demand he had made, the old man's face lit up as he pulled a pair of pliers from the pile of tools in the corner, "Open your mouth," he demanded Taisho raised a brow and did as he was told, and then he growled and slapped the old man's hand and the pliers slammed into the wall, "What do you think your doing!" he snarled before Totosai glared and moved to pick up the tooth he had taken from the Tai youkai, "It's for your sword, for you, or your blood to wield it I need something of yours" he stated before he waved at the Tai youkai, "You can leave now" he stated and Taisho growled, his mouth was throbbing from the pain.

Having teeth being pulled was something he didn't like and never wanted to experience it again!! As he stood he left the cave to already hear the old man at work, it should be done within a day or two, he was assuming. As he moved along the burnt lands he wondered how his son was handling things...

Sesshoumaru growled as he walked away from the girl, his father... had been gone a total of two days so far, and this girl who he met two days ago, would not leave him alone, "Go away..." he said coldly before she snorted and yelled at him to come back to her, girls were crazy and they annoyed him. How could his father be so obsessed with them? He didn't know and he didn't want to know!

As he moved down the hall way he saw Satoshi with his new wife and twin sons. "Evening Prince..." he said as he saw the flustered way Sesshoumaru was trying to get away from the crazy Inu girl who was walking after her yelling about how they could be friends. "Whoa, Sesshoumaru..." Satoshi said stopping the young Youkai enough for Aimi to catch up, Sesshoumaru glared murder at the second in Command, Aimi stopped to catch her breath as she smiled at Satoshi as he returned the smile. "Sesshoumaru, this is Aimi, she the head Council's daughter" Sesshoumaru looked away and snorted, "I don't care" he replied dryly as Aimi glared and crossed her arms over her chest, "Sesshoumaru, be nice, I'm sure your Father would tell you the same" Satoshi's mate giggled lightly and smiled at him gently. "Satoshi-kun, leave him be, Aimi-sama your mother needs to see you..." she said before bowing her head in respect, the twin youkai boys hiding behind there mother, Aimi sighed and let her shoulders sag, she had lost the chance to spend the day with him.

As she walked past him she cast Sesshoumaru a glance saying she would be back, as she left Sesshoumaru let out a tired breath and looked at Satoshi's wife, "Thank you Sora..." the woman nodded her curly red hair framed her face as she nodded her head, the curls moving just to her shoulders while some of it was pressed back into a clip while her deep violet hues were laughing with amusement. Satoshi snorted. "Sora, you shouldn't have helped..." Sesshoumaru glared, "She's annoying, I don't need to be near her, save me a headache." Sora laughed and Satoshi glared, "Your father would agree with me" Sesshoumaru cast him a seething glare before he excused himself.

InuTaisho stood back outside the cave as he pressed his clawed fingers against his temples, the stupid sword was trying to manipulate him into destroying the world... that was overly useless, he had a war to keep an eye on, let alone care about taking over the world. He would get bored with it. As he walked into the cave he saw Totosai slip the long sleek blade into its sheath he looked up to the Tai youkai and held it out, as Taisho took it he felt the pure pulse of the sword, almost holy in it's own way he took it out and examined it carefully, it was perfectly shaped and sharp as he stared at the old man, "Can it do as I asked?" Totosai nodded his head, as Taisho nodded his head in thanks he sheathed the sword and turned his back.

The sound of Totosai's voice had stopped him in mid stride. "Be careful with that sword, it can only bring back the dead once, and it can not exactly harm the living" he said and Taisho merely nodded, he needed to test out the new blade. It seemed to clean to him. As he placed it between his sash he bounded off into the more green area's of the West. As he slowed his pace as he came into contact with a doe and her fawn, he cracked his knuckles before he slit the belly of the doe, the fawn cried out in shock and bounded away as fast as it's new legs would or could carry it. As he licked the deer's blood from his digits he took the new sword from its sheath and pointed it at the doe, the sword vibrated and pulsed as a blue almost cosmic energy surrounded it. As he wrinkled his nose as his body was sounded in a black mist or cloud and he could smell the stank of death and rotting flesh, while sulfur accompanied the little creatures he saw form around the Doe with chains covering it's scaring twitching body.

The sword seemed to point to the creatures, it catching there attention as they screamed at him, as if they didn't understand why a thing of the living held such a weapon in it's grasp. The sword as if whispering in a melodic tune. He shut his eyes and nodded and slashed down, the once wound in the gut healed and the Doe got up, eyed him cautiously before he bounded off. Taisho stared at the sword in awe and expected it some more, the sword was amazing as he ran his finger along the front of the blade, it did nothing but tickle against his rough flesh, and it couldn't cut the living but could murder the dead... "Tensaiga..." he whispered the heavenly life fang... yes it was perfect as he gently slid the sword within it's sheath he headed for home, he was sure his son was going to be happy to see him.

oOo

Sesshoumaru gasped as he sat up in his bed, a light cover of sweat covered his near nude body as he peeled the covered from him and stood, it was near the morning, middle of the night, he had been having nightmares and had been seeing the same off girl within his dreams, he couldn't define her features though she glowed like the sun, her blue tinted ebony hair shown and danced in curls, while her misty sky hues looked on to him with compassion. And each time he could see that girl get murdered before him, and each time her cries of pain for him to help her echoed out in his mind.

He placed a hand over his eye as he slid open the door which lead to the garden's the moonlight bathing him in it's glory. The same dream, he had been having the same dream every night for the last week. To embarrassed to tell anyone he sought out his own solitude within the cold chilled air of the Gardens. As he slipped on his sandals he moved and sat under a rather large oak tree, his silver hair once again shading his features as he thought about the girl. She seemed too different from the Youkai woman here, she could smile and he could feel warm. And then she would just die screaming his name and he would wake up, anger, panic and sadness eating away at his soul like no tomorrow...

Sesshoumaru without even knowing it fell asleep against the hard bark of the oak tree. His knee's brought up and his head buried within his arms as he moved into a rather deep slumber.

'Sesshoumaru stood atop a bloody hill his pristine form stall and rigid as though something had disturbed him. He smirked and he faded until he was in a bedroom. Very girlish, the large futon in the middle as a variety of womanly object were laying around. Sesshoumaru smelt the sweet smell of light vanilla and fresh dew as a woman, that same girl came in, her lithe form bowed in respect as he went to her, he wrapped his arms around her and she shivered from the contact. How she felt good like that...

Again he faded from her arms and missed the imaginary warmth she provided, he stood there in a garden, blood splattered every where and she heard her cries, and he went to her... this time he didn't see her death, he vanished like smoke and moved to the Gardens but the fading sunlight of orange and yellow, and purple. And there she stood her on the ground her hand on her ankle. He would feel the blade in his hand drop. The noise loud as he went to her, the fear within her hues made him feel unnerved and she looked away as if waiting for him to strike her down, though, as a thought through her passed she looked up at him defiantly... and he could feel his lips curl upwards...'

Sesshoumaru was jerked awake by well someone, as he looked up he saw his father with a rather worried expression. "Why are you out here?" he demanded before Sesshoumaru got up and stumbled against the tree from his sleep. The girl... he didn't tell... no he couldn't tell his father about this girl. "Welcome back Father..." he said before he Father shook his head, it was off for him to come back and find his son sleeping in the garden... it bothered him since he could feel an awkward swirl of emotion radiating off of him. So he put his son back to bed, and moved to his bedchambers.

Part III Hypocritical Love...

Four Hundred Years Later...

InuTaisho stared in amusement at the two as she yelled at him, while he glared murder at her. "You two calm down..." he said Sesshoumaru his son, who was more grown and more like the age of twenty now had his hair that hit his hips, his honey hues stared at his Father like he were insane. Sesshoumaru's robes of reddish pink flowers that was along his shoulders and the ends of his sleeves, the purple and red sash kept the black armor he wore in place. Aimi the girl who had spent the last four hundred years with his sun was demanding something of him yet again, her lavender hair was loose lightly as it sat in a messy bun on her head and the rest fell down her back. Much like a lady her body was curvy like any Youkai female, her under Kimono a bright red, which matched her eyes while the one over top was a white and the one over that was a black with white sakura petals moved down in a wave, while detailed roses embedded with golden silk dressed up her sleeves.

"Dono, your son, is unfair, and has no charm at all..." she stated coldly before Sesshoumaru cut her a seething glare. "Father, I yet again ask you to remove this woman from our home. She is annoying..." Taisho had the urge to laugh as Aimi had taken one of her hair clips and tossed it at Sesshoumaru, who merely took a step out of the way and let it fall to the ground, "Keep your trash to yourself..." Aimi screamed and stomped her foot in irritation. "You two, enough, we have things to do, Tsukimaru and his son Kouga are coming in a few days, I'd like for you two not to make it look like I have a bad name..." he said sourly, the treaty with the Wolf Youkai had finaly gone through and good, the Human's had started to act up and several of the Youkai from the South were dieing... at least the tension filled peace had lasted this long, as he pinched the bridge of his nose with his two fingers he waved the two children away. "Leave" he demanded and the two did as they were told. Taisho sighed and lowered his head, he needed to get out for a while... yes, that was a good Idea, as he stood he placed Tensaiga and the Soun'ga on his person before he moved out into the Garden, this would be the perfect moment to go and check up on the South to see what the problem was. And who exactly was killing off all the Youkai.

As he twisted into his full form he saw his son watching him with a Stoic expression, he nodded his gigantic fluffed head before bounding off. He hadn't stretched out like this for some time, as he bounded over borders he could see some kind of dim light within the actually light it; self as he moved into some tree's he morphed back into his original self. He silently crept about the tree's moving towards the caravan, it would seem they were humans... and they had something that appeared to be a sacrifice, he scowled. How disgusting, sacrificing one of there own kind. He curled his lip in distaste as the soft noise of a woman weeping came from the cage a set of horses were pulling. He shook his head and had those silver strands fall over his shoulder.

He watched on, as arrow's shot out, flame from each point as it hit the ground several of the townspeople and the cage, people were screaming in horror, as flick licked at the treasure some of the humans had been carrying, while the cage had tipped over and the horses ran for there lives, the cage broke and the soft sound he had heard within had come out, a girl, no you younger then the age of sixteen came out and tried to run only to have her fine silk kimono get snagged on a root from a tree. He watched in pure fascination as the bandits ignored her, or didn't even see her took the treasures and left. She tried to unclip the Kimono once the bandit's had left, her ebony hair fell in a water fall as her ivory skin stood out in the pinks and yellows and green's her form was adorned with. He crept closer as her cheeks were flushed from her crying, by the way she carried herself she was part of a noble family. Like every time he had come out into the lands, his curiosity got the better of him, he moved slowly towards her, once she heard his heavy footsteps she looked up and gasped and tried pulling herself free faster, she thought he was going to hurt her...? He smiled lightly before he knelt in front of her and she held her hands up to shield herself from him.

He placed his hands over the now ripping edge of her kimono and freed her, she watched him for a moment before giving him an odd look, one he hadn't see before. "T-thank you..." she said softly before he helped her to her feet. Her voice was so soft... so gentle that the creature inside him wanted to curl at her feet, struck by the odd emotions he turned away from her, only to have her grasp on to him, her beautiful features shadowed with fear. "Please..." she whispered softly. "Don't leave me here..." she said sadly, perplexed by what he should do he placed his hand against her head and smiled towards her, her cheeks flushed and she looked away. How cute! She was shy... and he knew it, "Where do you live?" he asked and she looked shadowed by grief at his words, "I can't go there..." she said softly as she looked up at him, her lower lip between her teeth as the lump of flesh turned red and he felt the beast in him growl in pleasure at the site of her flushed shy face.

Still confused on what to do, he titled his head towards her, "Where should I take you then?" he asked her softly before she smiled greatly and thought for a moment as she kept her tiny hands against the sleeve of his haori. "I'm not sure..." he sighed irritably. He couldn't take her back, they were all Youkai, and still as he looked down at her he felt his heart skip a beat. So he needed to get away from her as fast as he could or he could do something he would regret, "Where is the nearest human village?" he asked her before she pointed North and he cringed, hopefully he wouldn't be spotted. As he moved to stand rather close to this female and wrapped his arm around her dainty waste and she gasped as she was pushed to flushly against his person, Taisho ground his teeth together as he took off and she kept on squirming against him. At least she seemed be having a great time...

As he landed a few feet from the opening of the village she smiled up at him, "Thank you..." she said softly and he nodded his head, "My name is Izayoi..." she said sweetly before Taisho turned around and started walking away. "Can I see you again!?" she asked loudly and he stopped and turned back... back an off human? He nodded his head, it was out of character for him, but this odd girl made him feel warm... and he missed that feeling.

As he returned home he saw Sesshoumaru and Aimi yet again fighting... well Aimi was fighting Sesshoumaru was glaring, shaking his head he walked by the two and straight to his study and slammed the door and the noise echoed out across the house.

Sesshoumaru seemed a little shocked at his father's action he hadn't locked himself in his study since his Mother had passed, as he walked past Aimi, and was ignoring her he also made his way to the study. He stood there and smelt the smell of jasmine against' his father's pine scent. He raised a brow. Was his father with another woman, taking another intake of breath he curled his lip, human? He turned on his heel then. How disgusting, Taisho knowing his son was there shook his head, he could already feel the anger radiating off the boy like sun to the water.

Several days had past, Sesshoumaru knew that much and every day his father came and left and always smelt like that human woman, he had to be the only one who smelt it... since he was the only one avoiding his father, and when the day of Kouga and Tsukimaru came Sesshoumaru, and Aimi had behaved themselves. His father was pleased but Sesshoumaru refused to acknowledge any type of Fatherly son bond with him, like before. He needed and answer as to why he always smelt like some human woman, and why his mood was always so... gentle and happy, he wasn't the only he could hear the servants mumbling to themselves on how there Lord has changed, and it bothered him...

Weeks past and the same happened he'd travel north and come back in the evening and attend to his duties as the Lord, Sesshoumaru sat there under that same tree as the birds chirps, the air was silent as the sun fell behind the earth and the new moon came... there was no moon and Sesshoumaru was disturbed. It was until a looming shadow leaned over him, he looked up to see his father there, his eyes devoid as Sesshoumaru raised a brow. Anger and sorrow leaked off the other Youkai like nothing, Sesshoumaru stood then and faced his father who he almost stood in even height with, "Sesshoumaru, you need to stop avoiding me" he heard his father demanded in a hushed voice, "Father..." he stated as if lightly confused about his words, "Enough," he barked and Sesshoumaru's hues narrowed, "Father, then let me ask, why you smell like a human every time you come back from..." he paused and scowled. "From where you come back from..." His father looked away as if bothered by something.

"What?" Sesshoumaru asked before his father pinned him with a stoic expression, "I've been seeing a human, she... she's wonderful to me" Sesshoumaru gaped at what he was hearing, "I've made her mine, my mate..." he growled and his Father glared at him, "And she's with child..." Sesshoumaru stopped in mid growl to look shocked, jealousy, anger and pain welled in his eyes. "You've replaced mother?" he accused and Taisho looked on in fury, "No, I've moved on" he stated coldly and Sesshoumaru snarled, "Lair, You have. And with a human..." he said. He was going to be an older brother, still this wasn't what he needed, nor wanted to hear.

He walked past his father then, he snarled at his son and pulled him to a stop only to have his once vice like grip over his boy slip and he was shoved back, he could actually feel the anger raging off of Sesshoumaru, "Leave me be." He demanded before his father lunged at him to pin him to the ground below, "Don't turn your back on me boy!" he yelled as several lanterns were lit among the house, Sesshoumaru struggled and kicked his father off, "I don't need to listen to you, Leave me alone!" he demanded as he held down the younger boy with force he thought he might actually kill him, "Sesshoumaru stop!" his father's tone demanding as his son stopped struggling, and he got off slowly letting his kid back up only to have a fist connect with his jaw, "You don't command me any more Father..." he said before the anger and what ever else he saw died within his first born' hues. Quite shocked at seeing his emotions now dead he watched Sesshoumaru fix himself and walk off with perfect grace.

Taisho watched his son slide the door closed and he covered his face with his hand as he snarled, and he whirled to find Kyouya and Satoshi there, they eyed there Dono carefully. They had heard everything, their Lord was going to have another son, a Hanyou son... it was when all three knew that it was going to turn for the worst.

Sesshoumaru knowing how angry his father was for him striking him before, Though the two rarely spoke, even though he showed very little, he was fuming on the inside and was mad, how could his father sire a child who would have nothing, be rejected by everything living? He didn't know his own Father could be so cruel. He lowered his head as he once again sat by the tree, Aimi who had left him alone for a good two weeks came and sat beside him, Sesshoumaru glanced at her before she looked at him, her cheeks flushed and her red hues glassy, "Sesshoumaru, stop it!" she cried before she clung to him, her hands against his sleeve while her face laid on his shoulder and she sobbed, he was shocked but didn't show it, "Stop what?" he asked her, as she looked up she had tears running down her face.

"This with your father, people can feel the cold coming from you, hatred. No one is impressed by what he did, but no reason to get angry!" she sobbed before burring her face within his shoulder. Sesshoumaru growled at her, so everybody knew, she looked up and moved away from him as he stood. "Stay out of my affairs..." he replied coldly before he moved out of line of site, why did everybody have to know? He didn't want anybody to talk to him, the servants moved out of the way before he stopped before his father's study, he over heard the conversation, due to the fact that the baby was a Hanyou his human bitch was due one to two months' early, and worse he had trouble with a Dragon Youkai... Sesshoumaru not getting the just of it and not wanting too he continued on his way...

Taisho nodded his head as he watched Satoshi sit straight, "So Dono, you found this girl, when her caravan was attacked... and you've seen her every since..." Taisho nodded again. This time Kyouya replied. "Do you 'fell in love' as she called it and mated to her, and now she's having your child... and now as this problem get's worse. Sesshoumaru hates you. And you have a Dragon named Ryuukossei wants to kill you because that girl was his...?" Taisho once again nodded, when did life become so difficult. "And the humans, since the news is spreading fast want to start the war because of me and Izayoi..." he said in a detached voice as he smelt Sesshoumaru there for a moment before he left.

He shook his head and sighed, "I'll deal with this all, and he plans to go after her when she gives birth..." he said before the other two nodded not knowing the fate their master would have. Several months had passed two month's before the expected arrival of Sesshoumaru's little brother as his Father had told him, Great... he liked being an only child, His father disappeared for a few days... he had gone to see that sword smith again, and he built a sword for him to protect his human mate, Sesshoumaru was outraged. He saw such a powerful sword go for a human bitch and her offspring. As Aimi who still decided she wanted to be around him, followed him much like a shadow was annoying him, but to say the least he actually enjoyed her company...

Taisho stared at his son who faced him, there faces indifferent, Sesshoumaru's honey hues held pain as this was the night his brother were to be born, "I'll be back..." Taisho whispered as Sesshoumaru watched him go, as he thought of something to comfort him, he retorted back to that odd dream he had when he was younger, of that girl who brought him the perfect feeling. He smiled lightly as his father walked away. The blue eyed clumsy giggly girl. Even if she wasn't real he actually found himself friendly with the dream girl to say the least as he watched his father's back shift into his full form and dash off to his beloved...

More then several hours later Sesshoumaru was starting to worry, he knew about the Dragon, and he knew how long it should take for a woman to give birth, he scowled as he stood on the border's of the lands Aimi in tow as he tried to look for the faintest trace of his father's scent, he had been gone for too long... Panicking he felt a small hang on his larger one, he looked down to see Aimi smiling gently. "Don't worry, your father will be fine..." he nodded in agreement. Well he did agree until the thick musty smell of his father his blood, that woman, and another thing which he was assuming was the Dragon, worry tickling his stomach as he moved down the hill with his fast speed as Aimi stayed for a moment unsure of what to do before she dashed off after him. Sesshoumaru sure was fast!!

As she lost track she relied on her smell, which almost failed her from the smell of smoke blood and death as it ate at the once clean crisp air. She choked and turned on her heel back to the house, something was wrong and she could feel it, and it was eating away at her, So she ran, ran to get Sesshoumaru help...

As Sesshoumaru stopped he saw the village up in flames the people were dead, he moved in silently, blood stained the ground as he saw the main house which he was assuming where that woman and his father would be, he bounded up and was tock horrified at the site of his father laying there, blood pooling out around him from the open gash in his neck and chest, his armor had been ripped clean away as Tessaiga, Tensaiga and the Soun'ga, they were missing, like his Father had placed them some where. He growled out and walked to his father, as he saw the burnt face and hands and the bare flesh and blood he remembered the way his mother looked before she died, he knelt down and checked for a pulse...

Nothing...

He checked again and again, there was nothing, he bellowed in rage as he knew his father had fallen and for what? A woman he claimed he loved and the son he would never see grow up! "Father, you moron..." he hissed between clenched fangs, as the smell of Aimi, Satoshi and Kyouya came, they stopped dead at the site, and Sesshoumaru looked up his face stoic as he watched the two of them. "He's dead" Sesshoumaru replied bitterly before Aimi collapsed into tears and the two other's fumed with anger and sorrow, he stared at his father's lifeless form. "Satoshi, Kyouya, take him home..." he ordered before he moved to Aimi to pick her up from the ground below. "Go home..." he said and she nodded as she watched Kyouya and Satoshi drag away his Father's corpse.

As he raised his head he sniffed the air and caught sent of the woman and her son. He would visit them at a later time... he had things to do...

Twenty Years Later...

Sesshoumaru wondered into the village, she was here and he knew it, the smell of his half brother stung his nose, His pristine outfit hung nicely as he was adorned in red and yellow, while having the Tensaiga at his waist as he entered the hut, the woman was old... too old for this time as she lay against the bed of hay, the little brother he knew saw before looked about age four and he was clutching his mother's hand, As he turned around his little Hanyou ear's flattened against his head and he growled. The sound was light as he moved in, the woman gasped and smiled. "I know you..." she said as she choked and coughed and sat up, "You're his son... please... take Inuyasha with you" she begged before Sesshoumaru stared down at the little child, his Father talked about him, he felt his heart clench as he nodded. "Fine..." he replied as she pulled her child forth and whispered to him, Inuyasha as she had called the child and moved over to him.

"Aniki?" he whispered in a light voice as he got his first and last glace at the woman... she was on death's door, she wouldn't survive the night... and with that he nodded to his little brother, he hated the brat but his father would have been kind, and he was doing this for his Father... not for the dieing bitch or his little brother, for his Father who died for no reason... And with that being thought he took the Hanyou's hand and left the hut...
