Stuck Between Love and A Tough Spot Chapter 1 He broke me... again

Disclaimer: I do NOT own InuYasha, or any of the following characters. So leave me be crazy people who wish to sue me. Is it sew? Or sue? Hmm I'll ponder that now... Oh and I don't own the song Slipped Away by Avril Lavigne or Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Greenday. I almost forgot those heehee.

Note: Well as this is my first fic please R&R. I can't continue if no one cares not to it's just a fact. So if you wish me to continue review! It makes me tingly. ^^

Na na, na na na, na na

I miss you, miss you so bad

I don't forget you, oh it's so sad

I hope you can hear me

I remember it clearly

Kagome sighed as her bluish black hair fell into her face. Looking up into the night sky she bit on her lip to keep her tears from falling. How could it be true? How could her father really be gone? Looking out the window she felt a tear trail down on her cheek. He had been sitting next to her yesterday, teasing her about Hojo. He knew she would never end up with him, which in his eyes made it even more fun. Taking in a painful breath she held back more tears. Kami, how can this hurt so much?

A soft knock was on her door, she didn't respond at all. She didn't care anymore, nothing mattered. Her father kept them together, her father was the center of the family. "Kagome, I know you're in there. You have to wake up." A strong deep voice called out, it sounded to much like her fathers.

"Daddy!" She called out, the tears streaming freely now she sat up with a jolt. It was only a dream, it felt so real though. Probably because she still missed him.

The day you slipped away

Was the day I found it won't be the same

Ooooh

"Kagome?" Her mother knocked on the door. "Aren't you going to the feudal era?" She asked in the light quiet voice, that only she could carry off., groaning she had forgotten about that. She had promised to meet with InuYasha three days ago. Wait... why hasn't he come to get me? Throwing the covers off her as quickly as possible she swung her legs over the bed, something was wrong. If she stayed just a day over he would've gotten her. They hadn't even gotten in a fight this time...

Rushing past her mirror she stopped and looked at herself. She was the image of her father, with her raven hair that cascaded down her shoulders in an elegant matter and her sapphire blue eyes that seemed to sparkle. Picking up her brush she began to brush her hair as a memory flooded her mind.

Na na la la la na na

I didn't get around to kiss you

Goodbye on the hand

I wish that I could see you again

I know that I can't

" Daddy!" An impatient little girl whined. "Are you almost done yet?" A man smiled as her finished braiding her hair which only came down a little past her chin at the time. His gentle hands slowly tied it with a small bow at the end.

"Hai, Kagome." Smiling he patted her on the back. "Now go and play with your friends!" He said before picking her up and throwing her over his shoulders in a playful way. "Come on, I'll take you!" With that he ran off, with the little girl squealing with happiness.

Flashing one of her small smiles she, dropped the brush and nearly smashed the mirror in surprise. She had thought she had seen, him. "Damn it, no Kagome!" She nearly yelled but caught herself, if there was one thing she didn't need was people thinking she talked to herself. "I can't keep doing this, he's been gone for almost eight years now..." She murmured placing her hand on her desk. Finishing her hair without another thought she was glad she had packed her backpack the day before.

"I'm going Momma! Bye Souta, Gramps!" She called cheerfully, much happier then she felt or would ever feel. Or so she thought. Running to the shrine she flung open the doors, her heart beating wildly for some unknown reason, walking down the steps she cautiously peered into the well.

Oooooh

I hope you can hear me cause I remember it clearly

The day you slipped away

Was the day I found it won't be the same

Ooooh

It was still hard to believe this could take her to another place, another time, another world. It amazed her really, for her it was the only thing keeping her from thinking about her father. Jumping down into the well she was greeted with the familiar blue light, for some reason the light had always given her peace. But once she was on the other side, her stomach churned. Is that one of Kiyko's soul stealers?

Leaving her backpack she very carefully climbed out of the well. Looking around she could still see it floating by, so she quietly ran after it. Her father had always warned her about men, and being careful around them. If you were tempted into the wrong once, you're heart was bound to get broken. But the thought didn't cross her mind until after it was too late.

I had my wake up

Won't you wake up

I keep asking why

And I can't take it

It wasn't fake

It happened, you passed by

"Inuyasha, for us to truly be together I will need my soul back." Came an eerie voice, a voice that should've been dead fifty years ago but wasn't. Kiyko remained to haunt Inuyasha and Kagome as well. Inuyasha just nodded at her, his eyes were soft and full of caring.

"I know... it's just that well." He said pausing as if trying to think of what to say. Kagome held her breath. Maybe he's defending me? Maybe he'll protect me? Those were her last desperate thoughts before hearing. "I only need her to find the shards, and defeat Naraku after that your soul will be yours again." An smile crossed those ghostly pale lips of hers.

"Thank you, Inuyasha." She said and cast a glance at where Kagome was. Before raising her head to Inuyasha looking into his eyes she closed hers and made a move for his head, he did like wise. So that's it? He talks about killing me? Then he... he kisses her? More tears welled up, not only in her eyes, but in her heart. I thought, he at least was my friend... Her thoughts were interrupted by a twig snapping. Her eyes widened in shock.

Now your gone, now your gone

There you go, there you go

Somewhere I can't bring you back

Now your gone, now your gone

There you go, there you go,

Somewhere your not coming back

"Ka- Kagome?" Inuyasha looked up from his passionate kiss and onto the face of his broken friend. Had she heard what he said? "I-I..." He trailed off then looked into her eyes, he had broken her.

"Inuyasha." Kagome whispered his bitter sweet name. "You promised to protect me, but now I find you plotting to get rid of me." Her dull eyes looked up at him. "You failed me, and betrayed my trust. Maybe you do belong in hell with her." Kagome said dully before turning to leave, he had hurt before. But never threatened her life.

"No, wait." He said and made a move towards her, but she turned around and stopped him. Her cold eyes filled with anger and sadness but mostly betrayal.

"Go back with her." She said her tone bitter and sad all at once. "You and your whore belong together." Was all she said before running through the forest tears completely blurred her vision not as much as pang and anger.

Why did I fall for him? Why am I such an idiot! I can never be with him, I should've known that. His heart belongs to Kiyko dead or alive. I will always be an reincarnation. Why would anyone love me, when they have the real thing? Kagome asked as she collapsed on the forest floor. Am I worthless....?

The day you slipped away

Was the day I found it won't be the same noo..

The day you slipped away

Was the day that I found it won't be the same oooh...

Nah nah, nah nah nah, nah nah

I miss you

On the other side of the forest....

I walk a lonely road

The only one that I have ever known

Don't know where it goes

But it's home to me and I walk alone

"Sesshomaru-sama?" Rin asked looking up at the taiyokai. He glanced down at her for a split second then back up at the sky, his amber eyes softened for only the second his gaze was on her. Then it remained hard as ever.

"Hai?" He asked in his normal bored tone, as if he didn't care. But he did care, he cared for her. Though he would never admit that to anyone. No, this Sesshomaru does not have emotions. Waiting for Rin to speak with a bit of impatience a familiar scent crossed his path.

"I'm hungry." She said looking up with her big chocolate eyes, her puppy face was nearly impossible to resists. Turning to Jaken he nearly scowled but refrained from such a gesture, he was sleeping on Ah Uh. A small pebble was shot at the toad who yelped.

"Jakan, take Rin to the stream." He commanded before turning to find the miko. Her scent was strong, and she was crying. Not that he cared why, but after seeing Rin fish he knew he was going to get wet. And he was simply not in the mood to get wet. So the miko would serve as entertainment until Rin was done.

I walk this empty street

On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams

Where the city sleeps

and I'm the only one and I walk alone

Approaching her with all his grace and might, he ran into a most interesting sight first, or disgusting. There was his half brother, moping around at first. Sesshomaru smirked, what had the idiot done now? He was still smirking until he saw a hand wrap around Inuyasha's waist and then a seductive smile from the dead priestess. Facing her she indulged on a passionate kiss, only to be half heartedly returned from his brother.

"Inuyasha!" She said quietly as if trying to seduce him further. "Take me." She told him Sesshomaru couldn't help but his face crinkled in disgust. He was not going to stay around for that, if his brother was so lazy to not notice him he would make himself noticed.

"Inuyasha, why is it that you play with a dead toy?" Sesshomaru asked him stepping out from the shadows, his ice cold expression on. "Unless it was made broken." He said and watched Inuyasha growl angrily at him.

"Sesshomaru..." He said his hand on the hilt of the sword. "What do you want, bastard?" He demanded barking like a pup, who couldn't have a treat.

I walk alone

I walk alone

I walk alone

I walk a...

"Do as you wish." He said before turning to leave. "Though, it seems as soon as you get tired of one toy you move from it to the next one. Are you that irresponsible in every aspect? Including those humans?" Sesshomaru said before walking off. Only hearing Inuyasha's attack long before it hit. He easily dodged and sent an elbow into his stomach, "Learn your place filthily half breed." With that he left Inuyasha temporally stunned.

Walking further unto the forest instead of seeing the crying miko like he suspected, he only saw a girl standing in a field. The wild flowers blowing against her ankles her skirt and shirt were torn. Blood was dripping down from her left shoulder. Turning back she looked at him, her eyes were dull and as if seeing some else gave her reason to faint so she did she did. Running over to her by instinct, he caught her before she fell to the ground.

Sesshomaru looked at the lifeless girl in his arms. She was small and weak, helpless without his half brother. And she would die without medical attention, she was fading fast her heart beat was dieing. "Sesshomaru- sama!" He heard a raspy voice call out, it was no other then the imp toad. And if he was there Rin would be there, she would beg for this girl's life.

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me

My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating

Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me

'Til then I walk alone

And of course he was right. Almost five seconds after he thought it he felt a tug on his shoulder. "Sesshomaru sama?" A quiet scared child's voice said, he could smell her tears. "What's wrong with Kagome chan?" Her chocolate eyes held no sparkle to them, no laughter... no smile. Her smile meant more then words can describe, after much thought he had decided that was why he had brought Rin back to life. Her smile.

"You wish for me to save this human?" His tone was indifferent, with a stone cold face that might look ice look warm. Rin nodded slowly watching Kagome's breath fade, he wondered how long she had been bleeding out like that, with drawing the tenseiga. He saw the death taking her, so he simply slashed it away, her heart rate picked up. "She will live." He said in his monotone voice.

Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Aaah-ah,

Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Ah-ah

I'm walking down the line

That divides me somewhere in my mind

On the border line

Of the edge and where I walk alone

That voice.... It sounds so familiar... Kagome groaned a youkai had come demanding the jewel. Inuyasha hadn't come to save her. She couldn't expect it though, she pushed him away and she would until the end. So if it's not Inuyasha's voice who's is it? Kagome blinked her eyes open, only to have her sapphire eyes meet a world of amber. Beautiful amber eyes, not cold, not emotionless. But beautiful, they didn't belong to Inuyasha so. "Sesshomaru?" She asked in awe.

Rin immediately perked up, her shine to her eyes returned, so did the smile. "Kagome- chan! Sesshomaru-sama saved you! Rin was very worried but knew Sesshomaru would save you!" She declared happily. Feeling faint she returned the smile and nodded slowly it took awhile to process everything.

"Sesshomaru saved me?" She asked still looking up into his amber eyes. He didn't answer instead picked her up bridal style, and walked over to Ah Uh. Rin followed and helped her on to Ah Uh.

"We'll return to the castle." He told them before his youkai cloud appeared and Kagome fell asleep again.

Read between the lines

What's fucked up and everything's alright

Check my vital signs

To know I'm still alive and I walk alone

Sesshomaru glanced back at the sleeping girl. This certainly was out of character for the girl, as he remembered she enjoyed talking a bit to much, for now he would permit her only because Rin enjoyed her company. Since Jakan was no motherly figure, it would be good for her to have a mother figure for awhile.

Flying back would only take a few hours, the miko would still be asleep he figured. Glancing back at Rin, he could hear her senselessly talking to Ah Uh. He smiled inwardly of course his face remained blank. But he was content, it was odd to feel so comfortable with the human around. It was even odder he hadn't sliced her head off. But she would be good company for Rin, for awhile only until she regained her strength.

'Maybe the girl be of some use to him as well. He mused with the thought. She would or at least should have some details on Naraku that I haven't bothered to collect. The miko may also be able to help me in gaining the power to posses the tessaiga. Yes this miko would be of use, if she wished she would stay with Rin and take care of her. Instead of traveling with Inuyasha.'

Sesshomaru smirked, a human girl, whoever thought he would have two humans in his care. This girl if she wished to stay with him she was going to get more then she bargained for. This human miko was going to become a pawn in his game, and nothing would change that, well almost nothing.

Sesshomaru, feeling more arrogant then usual didn't see a flaw with the plan, but what he wasn't looking at the whole picture. Then again he wasn't looking at the whole Kagome. No Sesshomaru had much to learn before this was over, but then again so did Kagome. Two different worlds, two different lives were about to collide all beginning when she woke up.

Angel: Whoot! I finished this at like 1 o clock last night.

Inuyasha: No wonder it sucks, there are like 5 different spellings of my name.

Angel: Only two baka, remember I control you.

Sesshomaru: Do you really think, I Sesshomaru would save a mere human?

Angel: Yep

Kagome: Jerk

Inuyasha: Hurry up and close the damn chapter. No one cares to listen to you babble

Angel: Same to you, anyway thanks to all for reading. If you liked it then review! If you didn't like it, give me constructive criticism. No flames please!
