Chapter 1

"I'll be back in a few!"| yelled a newly turned 16 year old. She opened the door to her house and stepped outside. She could hear the snow crunch under her boots. She breathed in deep and let it go. She watched as it made a puff of air and slowly disappeared. "Alright, but don't stay out later, Kagome!" yelled her mother from inside.

She jumped off her porch, successfully hearing that 'crunch' once again. She giggled. She ran around in the untouched and almost perfect white snow. All the while she laughed like she was 10 once more.

She sighed. 'now what?' she asked herself. Her eyes brightened as she thought of an idea. 'I know! I'll go visit Mr. Icicle and see how he's doing.' She giggled at his nickname as she walked along the sidewalk to her dear friend, Sesshomaru's house.

Once at his door, she rung the door bell. She had to only wait a few seconds, for someone answered the door. There stood at the door his mother. Her eyes were pink and puffy, she had obviously been crying. Her hair was a mess and she had dark circles under her eyes, from lack of sleep.

"Why hello Kagome. How nice to see you." Her voice sounded strained. Kagome gave a small bow. "Mrs. Taisho. How nice to see you too." The older woman smiled. "I'm guessing you're here to see Sesshomaru?" Kagome nodded. The older lady sighed. "I'm sorry. He's not here." The lady's eyes down casted "He...was upset." She lifted her graze. "But, I know where you might find him. Check the park." She winked. "Maybe you'll be able to calm his suffering soul." Before Kagome had a chance to ask what she meant, Mrs. Taisho slowly closed the door.

Kagome shrugged and jumped down the steps, and Walked down their long drive way. She had reached the park in only a few minutes. She looked all around her. 'Beautiful.' She thought to herself. The snow on the leafs Sparkled and Shined when the setting sun hit them just right. She stooped and watched as a mother bird shook off the snow from her feathers and seated herself more comfortable on her eggs. Kagome smiled.

She continued to walk down the sidewalk until she reached the bridge above the river below. What stopped her was the sight of a silver haired teen leaning against it. His bangs covering his eyes from her view. 'Sesshomaru...' Her heart broke as she saw his shoulders shake and dimaond tears run down his cheeks and dripp off his chin.

A feeling of saddness washed over her. She ran toward him, only to come to a stop infront of him. She wrapped her arms around his form. He stiffened a bit before he relaxed in her arms, Successfully wrapping his arms around her waist. "It's ok. I'm here. You dont have to go through this alone." She whispered in his ear. Those word seemed to turn on a switch, for he silenty began to cry in the crook of her neck.

"Thank you..." he choked out. After he calmed down, He lifted his head and looked into her eyes. "Kagome..." she smiled at him. "Are you ok?" She asked him. He down casted his eyes. "...yeah" he whispered. She frowned. She lifted his chin, forcing him to look at her. "What's wrong?" He sighed. "My....Father was murdered." She gasped. "He was found in the bed of another woman." He continued. "to make it even worse....we're moving, Kagome." A tear escaped her eye. He looked up at her, Then he looked away. "I....I dont want to leave you." He whispered.

She placed her forehead against his. "I...Dont want to leave you either." He looked deep into her eyes before lowering his gaze to her lips.

He need her warmth. He needed to be by her side.

He needed...Her.

He shut his amber eyes and closed the gap between them. Everything went still. Her eyes widened. He was for sure she would slap him or back away, maybe even yell, 'RAPE!' but she didn't. What surprised him even more was her lips moving against his.

After the need to breath could not be ignored any londer, They broke away. They stood there panting as they looked deep into eachothers eyes. She placed her head against his shoulder and sighed. "Sesshomaru?" she asked. "Hn."

She watched as a bird flew from one tree to the other. "Do you really have to go?" She heard him sigh and felt him gentle push her away. "....yes." He stuffed his hands in his pockets and turned his back toward her. "I'm sorry. I have to go. We...are moving today." He began walking away. "Goodbye, Kagome." She watched his retreating back. 'I dont deserve you...' was his last thought before he walked away.

A sob past her lips. She lowered her head until her bangs covered her eyes. "Goodbye....Sesshomaru."

The setting sun hit her face and her tear stained cheeks. She sighed. She walked home, all the way there, Thinking about her cold winters kiss.
