Missing Identity

Kagome walked down the stone path that led around the park. It was midnight and she had snuck out again. A small, but cold gust of wind chilled the air, as Kagome pulled her long trench coat closer to her body, using it as a shield against the cold. She could tell that it was becoming fall, and that school would start in a few days. She saw a bench and decided to go sit down. She started thinking about her life, and tried to push those thoughts aside. She let out a sigh and laid down. Before long, she fell asleep.

She was running. From what, she did not know. She finally summoned enough courage to look behind her. When she did, she saw a hooded figure. She ran even faster, but tripped on a root. She fell face first into the dirt. She looked up and saw the hooded figure standing over her. It was staring at her with piercing ice blue eyes. Then, all of a sudden, his hand shot out towards her and grabbed her neck in a painful grip. She could feel his nails digging into her skin. She tried to fight him of, her nails digging into his wrist. The next thing she knew, she was at a waterfall, a hundred years into the past. She looked around and saw a figure coming towards her. As the figure came closer, she realized it was a guy that wasn't much older than her. He had shoulder-length blond hair, and cerulean blue eyes. He called her name. 'How does he know my name?' she thought. After that one thought, she woke up.

"What was that?" Kagome looked around and realized she was still in the park. She started to head home while thinking about her dream. 'Who was that guy?' she asked herself. 'I'll go talk to Sango tomorrow and see if she can help me.'

When she got to her 2-story house, She climbed up the tree that led to her window and climbed in, she was used to sneaking out, so it was easy for her. Once she was in her room, she climbed into her bed. She kept thinking about her dream. Even with all of her thoughts and questions in her head, she fell asleep, only to have the same dream.

Kagome woke up, startled by having the same dream. After getting over the initial shock, she went down stair to get some breakfast. When she got to the kitchen, she saw her foster parents fighting...again. She was really getting sick of them always bitching at each other. She walked past them and grabbed some pop tarts and a soda. She went past them and back up to her room. She sat down at her vanity and brushed her hair. Her hair was down to her waist, was blue/black with red tips, and was wavy. She tied it up in a bun, because no one ever saw her with her hair down, the only people that have were her closest friends. She threw on her favorite outfit, a pair of black and red Tripp pants, a blood-red belly shirt that showed of her red, crescent moon tattoo with two gold eyes on either side, and her red skull belly-ring, a black baggy hoodie, and a pair of worn-out combat-boots. She put her hood over her head and headed over to Sango's.

When she got to Sango's house, she parked her black viper and ran up to Sango's room. She knocked on the door and Jetta answered. Kagome peered into the room and saw Naraku, Sango's boyfriend, sitting on the bed without a shirt on.

"Am I interrupting something?" Kagome asked with a smirk.

"Um...no...nothing at all..." Sango replied nervously.

"Yeah...whatever...I just wanted to talk to you, come get me when you're done, I'll be at Inu Yasha's house if u need me!" Kagome said as she left.

Kagome hopped back into her black viper and drove to Inu Yasha's house. When she got there she saw Inu Yasha sitting on the steps. She stepped out of the car when he started walking towards her.

"Hey..." Inu Yasha said as he when up to her and gave her a kiss.

"Hey!" Kagome said. "Now what's up with acting like you haven't seen me in years?"

"Can't I act that way around my girlfriend?" Inu Yasha asked.

"Of course you can!" Kagome said giving him a kiss.

Inu Yasha led Kagome into the house and up to his room. Two hours later, Sango and Naraku knocked on the door. The both had smirks on their faces. 3-2-1! They opened the door and saw Kagome and Inu Yasha sitting on the bed. Everything looked normal, except Inuyasha didn't have a shirt on and Kagome's hair was down.

"Were we interrupting something?" They asked.

"No...um...nothing at all..." They both said while completely red.

"Yeah...sure...whatever." Sango said. "Now what did you want to talk to me about?"

Kagome led her out into the hallway and shut the door.

"What did you want to talk to me about?" Sango asked.

Kagome told Sango about sneaking out and about the dream. When she got done, she looked to Sango and saw her with her "thinking face" on.

"What do you think?" Kagome asked.

"I think that that's seriously messed up." Sango said.

"Another weird thing is that when I got home, I had the exact same dream!" Kagome said.

"You mean you had the same dream twice in one night! Man...that's even more messed up than I originally thought! And I thought my dreams were weird..." Sango said.

"What do you think it means?" Kagome asked.

"I don't know...but considering your little "gift" it may be important." Sango said.

"I don't know if I want to know what it means." Kagome said.

The girls headed back to the room.

"Hey guys!" Kagome said.

"You weren't eavesdropping on us were you?" Sango asked suspiciously. Both guys had a guilty expression." I'll take that as a yes."

"How much did you two hear?" Kagome asked.

"All of it." They replied in unison.

"Really?" Sango asked.

"Yeah..." They replied.

"So you two heard everything, even the dream?" Kagome asked.

"Yeah..."They replied once more.

"Well...we were going to have to tell you sometime sooner or later." Sango said.

"So it was a good thing we eavesdropped?" The guys asked hopefully.

"Yes and no." Kagome said.

"Okay, change of subject..." Sango said, " What was it like to finally screw Kagome?"

Kagome shot Sango a death glare.

"I'm not going to answer that because if I did, Kagome would kill me." Inuyasha said.

"Why would she kill her boyfriend?" Naraku asked.

"Because you two have no business getting involved with our sexual life." Kagome said.

"Okay...fine..." Sango said, "I won't ask again.

"Bull Shit!" Kagome said. "You'll ask again and you know it!"

"I know; I just wanted to see if you would catch me." Sango said.

"Whatever." Kagome said.

"Well we better be heading home." Naraku said.

"Why?" Sango asked.

"Duh!" Kagome and Inuyasha said in unison. "We have school tomorrow!"

"Oh...yeah...well I'm staying with Naraku." Sango said.

"And I'm staying with Inuyasha." Kagome said.

"You two going to screw again?" Naraku asked.

"We should be asking you that question!" Inuyasha said.

"Whatever!" Sango said. "Later!"

The next day they all went to school. Everyone was staring at them. Some guy started to bug them so they beat the crap out of him. The Drama Club saw this and started filming it. The girls started beating them up too. Then a guy came up and started hitting on them so the guys joined in. No one else came up to them until they got to their lockers.

"Jason alert." Sango said.

Just then Jason went up to Kagome.

"Hey Kagome, want to come to my house? I'm sure you'd be a great partner," Jason said.

"Sorry, but no thanks. Inuyasha is the only one allowed to screw me!" Kagome said. She then gave Inuyasha a kiss. Just then, a new guy walked in the hallway.

"Holy shit!" Kagome said loud enough for only her friends to hear.

"What?" They asked.

"That's the guy from my dream!" Kagome said

"That is seriously messed up." Sango said. "Are you sure that's the guy?"

"I'm positive!" Kagome said.

Just then the principal's voice came on over the intercom. He was severely pissed off.

"Would Kagome, Inuyasha, Sango, and Naraku come to my office NOW!" He yelled.

They all had smirks on their faces as they entered the office.

"Why did you beat up the drama club!" He yelled.

"Because..." Kagome started.

"They were shooting footage of us beating up a guy this morning." Sango finished.

"It was mainly Kagome and Sango, but then some guy came up and started hitting on them and we had to join." The guys said.

"And just why were they filming you?" he asked.

"They said that they needed some drama to show the club." Kagome said.

"Well for punishment you will have to show the new students around, and they all have the same schedule as you!" he yelled.

"Oh, man!" they all said in unison.

Just then four new students walked into the office.

"Hey!" the preppy one said as she started hitting on the guys.

"Listen," Kagome and Sango started, " you hit on our boyfriends again, and we will rearrange your face."

"Is that a threat?" she asked.

"No," they started, "that's a promise!"

The prep got scared and ran off.

"Well...that's one less to take care of...so...what's your names?" Kagome asked.

The taller girl walked forward.

"I'm Kyoko and this is my friend Kairii." She said as the other girl walked forward.

"And I'm Kouga." The guy said.

"Well I'm Kagome, and this is my boyfriend Inuyasha."

"And I'm Sango and this is my boyfriend Naraku. Come on, we have to show you guys around. It's a good thing you're goths and not preps."

"Yeah, we don't like preps." Kagome said. "Although they are fun to beat up."

"Why do you have to show us around?" Kairii asked.

"Because we beat up the Drama Club." They said in unison.

"Oh, well, let's get going!" Kyoko said.

Kagome, Inuyasha, Sango, and Naraku showed them around the school. They all became friends rather quickly and had fun beating up the preps and they pestered the teachers all day long. After school was over, they all sat on the railing on the stairs outside.

"So...what do you guys want to do?" asked Inuyasha.

"Well, I know what I want to do." Kagome whispered into his ear.

Inu Yasha had a grin. "We'll see you guys later." He said as they left.

"Where did they go?" Kyoko asked.

"Knowing them they probably went to Inuyasha's house for some fun." Sango said.

"Seriously?" Kairii asked.

"Yeah, they're already screwing each other?" Kyoko asked.

"Well...yeah...they've been dating for...how many years?" Naraku said/asked.

"About 4 years." Sango said.

"Wow! That's a long time!" They both said in unison.

"Yeah, we know." Sango said.

"How long have you and Naraku been together?" Kouga asked.

"Oh my freakin' God!" They all yelled.

"What?" Kouga asked.

"You talked!" They yelled.

"So? You still haven't answered my question." He replied, obviously annoyed.

"Oh...um...about 4 years." Sango and Naraku answered.

"So...now what do you want to do?" asked Kairii.

"How about we go to Inuyasha's house and see if they want to go to a party?" Kouga asked.

"I doubt that they want to be disturbed...but okay!" Kyoko said.

They all agreed to go to Inuyasha's house to go to the party. Kagome and Inuyasha were clearly pissed, but reluctantly agreed to go. They all got into their cars and went to the party.

At the party, they all ended up getting drunk. Kyoko, Kairri, and Kouga all left early on, but Sango, Naraku, Kagome, and Inuyasha all stayed. They got really drunk and didn't know what they were doing until the next morning.

The next morning, Kagome and Sango woke up in the same bed. They were used to this so they were just like "Hey" to each other. They heard the guys snickering in another room.

"Want to see what that's about?" Kagome asked.

"Sure...but don't forget to grab that tape." Sango said.

"Sure thing!" Kagome replied.

They climbed out of bed and looked at each other, and then themselves.

"What the hell!" they both yelled.

The guys came in with a tape and smirks on their faces.

"You two should've seen yourselves last night!" they both broke out into laughter.

"What's so funny?" the girls asked.

"Just watch the tape." The guys said.

The guys showed the girls screwing each other.

"You better burn that tape!" they both yelled.

"Fine, but we have to say, the look on your faces was priceless." They started laughing again.

"Yeah...well we have a video for you two to watch as well." The girls said.

They showed a tape of the guys screwing each other.

"Give us that tape!" they yelled.

"We'll give you this tape if you give us that tape." The girls said.

"Fine!" they switched tapes and agreed to never speak of that night again. They went to pick up the others and head to school.

School went by uneventfully. The worst they did was beat up the preps. After school, they were all on the steps wondering what to do.

"We could go to Kagome's house." Kyoko suggested. "It's the only one we haven't been to." They all looked to Kagome who was looking away. "What's wrong Kagome?"

"She hasn't been home in days." Inuyasha said.

"Why?" Kouga asked.

"Her real parents were murdered when she was five and was adopted by her foster parents. Her foster parents started to abuse her when she was ten and are always fighting." Sango answered.

"When was the last time they abused you?" Kyoko asked.

"The day before she came to live with me." Inuyasha said.

"Do you still have the bruises?" Sango asked. Kagome nodded her head. "Let me see."

Kagome lifted up the back of her shirt and showed them the cuts and bruises on her back.

"How long has this been going on?" They asked.

"Eight years...now drop it...I don't like to talk about it." Kagome said.

"Okay." They all agreed.

"If you want to come to my house we'll have to sneak in through my window." Kagome said.

Everyone agreed to do it. Kagome showed them to her house and which branches to step on. Inuyasha was already up there.

"How is it that Inuyasha already knows how to get up there?" Kyoko asked.

"He's used to sneaking up to see me." Kagome said. She was the next one up. It only took her a second because she was used to sneaking out and back in, and also because of her great balance. Once they were all in, Kagome told them to be quiet while she went to check if her foster parents were home. Luckily, they weren't home, so Kagome showed them around her house and then they left before her parents came home. They then went to the park.

They were all wandering on the stone path around the park. They stopped when they reached a hidden waterfall that hasn't been touched in over a hundred years. Kagome and Kouga both had a look of pure shock across their faces.

"What is it?" they asked.

"This is the spot from my dream!" they both said.

"You mean you both had the same dream!" they asked/yelled.

"Yeah!" they said.

"That's seriously messed up." They replied.

"Wait, when was your dream?" Kagome asked.

"About two nights before I went to school!" Kouga said.

"That's when I had mine!" Kagome said. "Could we have shared a dream?"

"It's possible." Kouga said.

"This is just plain weird." they all said.

"And just when I thought my life couldn't get any weirder." Kagome said.

"I think it just did." Kouga said.

I wonder. Kagome thought. She walked around the waterfall and saw a hidden opening that led into a cave. This really is the spot from my dream. Kagome thought. She went even further into the cave and saw a clearing with a pond and a Sakura tree. This was our spot. Kagome sighed. I really need to stop talking to my self.

She heard footsteps behind her and turned around. She saw that it was Kouga that had followed her.

"How did you find this place?" Kagome asked.

"It was sort of calling to me." Kouga said.

"That's sort of how I found it." Kagome said.

They stood in silence for a few minutes.

"Why do you think that by some chance we were both called here, had the same dream, and remember everything about this place?" Kagome asked.

"Maybe we had a life together, a hundred years ago." Kouga said.

"You mean in our past life?" Kagome asked.

"Yeah." Kouga said after a moment.

"Do you think we were happy together?" Kagome asked.

"Probably, but what's the chance of us meeting again?" he asked.

"Maybe were soul mates and our souls unceremoniously called to each other." She said.

"Let's talk about this later, after we learn more." Kouga suggested.

"Okay," Kagome said as they left the area.

They returned to the others who didn't even notice that they left. That's good. They both thought. They wanted to tell the others about their little "discovery" but now was not the time. They would wait until they were able to learn more, and maybe after they had some time to think, they would tell them.
