Mentally stronger by oekaki

Kagome looked at all the destruction the battle with Naraku caused. Blood was every where on the meadow, blood was shed from her companions to Sesshomaru's soldiers, to some of Koga's pack. Everyone who fought against Naraku was still alive but had a few injuries but she was the one who had the most dangerous injury of them all she had long deep cut running slanted between her eyes all the way to her hips. She lowered her bow and tried to stand up against the tree she propped on but her actions were futile. She looked around her and saw that she was surrounded in a big puddle of blood; she sighed hard and heavily and started coughing up big blobs of blood in her hand.

Kagome grimaced, she knew she was going to die she lost too much blood for her to recover from this one she skipped death too many times and now it was her time and she accepted it.

"Guys?" Her voice was weak and raspy and it hurt to talk.

Everyone looked over to her and ran to her side immediately as soon as they heard her voice, everything went silent the birds in the tree flew away to find a place that wasn't filled with death.

"Oh, Kagome what happened?"

"I wasn't paying any attention that's what happened." She was growing weaker and weaker and she couldn't do anything about it.

Kagome looked at Sango as silent tears slid down her face as she watched her die slowly, she really didn't want to see Sango like this. Kagome leaned forward and stood up on wobbly legs and leaned against the tree she was on. Her breath was heavy and her vision was blurry but she was going to try and survive for Sango, Shippo, and Miroku.

"I have to go." Kagome said as she started as she staggered away from the group leaving a trail of blood behind her as she went into the woods.

"Guys I don't think we should let her leave by herself." Sango said as she looked at the trail of blood that led into the forest.

"If she wants to walk off and die and let scavengers devour her body then that's her problem." Sesshomaru said for the first time since the scene went down.

"I think you Sesshomaru need to shut the fuck up cuz this ain't none of your business." Inuyasha said as he looked at Sesshomaru with hate in his eyes.

"Enough dog shit I'm gonna go and get my woman." Kouga said as he followed the blood trail into the forest.

A scream was heard throughout the whole forest and the trees and bushes began to shake before a body flew towards them and hit the tree behind them. They looked at the crumpled body and then at the forest then at the body again the body had smoke emitting from it as it tried to get up.

"Chikuso, she let up a powerful barrier you would think her powers would be weak since she lost a lot of strength." Kouga said as he finally stood up.

"Pathetic, you're not strong enough to take down a barrier of a ningen onna....you should be ashamed to call yourself a demon." Sesshomaru said as he gave Kouga a look of disgust.

"If you so powerful why don't you go and try to take the damned barrier down, you teme."

"Fine I will you sorry ookami."

Sesshomaru walked into the forest and followed the same blood trail Kouga followed until he came up to a blue barrier, he looked it up and down before calling up his acid and sprayed it on the barrier. He watched as his once green acid turned into a deep black and fall onto the ground as it innocently pool around the barrier.

'The barrier neutralized my poison...hm...'

Sesshomaru stepped closer to the barrier and strained his eyes to look through the barrier and what he saw was not what he expected, there was a cocoon hovering above a stream.

'So this barrier is to protect the cocoon.....and the cocoon is covering her so the cocoon will open when she is done healing? This is too confusing this Sesshomaru going to have to look into this when I get to the castle.'

Sesshomaru gave it one last look before he started walking towards the group he made a truce with to help defeat Naraku. Once he got there he was bombarded with question from the onna's ningen friends and it totally irked him that they were breathing his precious air.

"Get out of my face you worthless ningen's before I dispose of you."

"They was just trying to find out if you was able to break the barrier you teme." Inuyasha said as he cracked his knuckles.

"I do not care you pathetic half-breed and your weak attempts to intimidate me needs to stop because they don't scare this Sesshomaru."

Sesshomaru walked past Inuyasha and into the forest walked towards the west, he was in a hurry to get home and find out what he discovered.

'A cocoon is surrounded by the most powerful miko's who has a fatal wound the cocoon is to assure the miko to get the proper rest, and to heal every injury they ever had from emotional, to mental, to physical. A barrier is surrounded around the cocoon so the cocoon doesn't have any disturbances to the healing process. Normally the healing process takes up to a year or two if needed it will not wake up for at least five years, depending on how serious the injury is. This process is sometimes done unconsciously or consciously it is taken to some extend that if they do not want to die it will happen unconsciously or consciously....some mikos have been taught this it is almost impossible to learn this, once this process is taken the mikos heartbeat is slowed down while they're sleep, once they awaken they will no longer have the lifespan of a human.........'

Sesshomaru read and reread it to understand it better before he said something.

'I guess this Sesshomaru won't be seeing Inuyasha's wench in a year or two....or maybe more.'
