In Your Eyes by Amaya

And It Begins...

Please note that I will be leaving Kagome in the Feudal Era.

Kgaome sat atop of a tree branch, high up in a tall tree. She looked down briefly and caught glimpses of empty sleeping bags. Her clothing was torn and bloody from the fight earlier that day...

(Flashback)

They were in the battle of thair lives, and they knew it.

Kagome jumped out of the way, barely dodging a tentacle that was shot her way. Unfortunately for her, the tentacle missed her, but hit a running Sango square in the chest.

"NO! SANGO!" she cried as she watched her friend fall limp onto the tentacle, her blood flowing along it like rivers.

Tears formed at the edge of her eyes as she watched Miroku turn towards Sango. When he saw her, his face filled with a pale, grief-stricken expression. He grabbed the beads on his hand, getting ready to open his Wind Tunnel.

Kagome almost dropped to her knees at what happened next.

Turning around to face his opponent with new ferocity, Miroku was met face to tentacle. He was decapitated, his head clearly rolling off his shoulders in a bloody shower. His body fell backwards, spurting out more and more of what was once his life's water.

Kagome turned to Naraku, arrow strung onto her bow and pulled back, letting it go with all the greif she had gained over her friends' deaths. She watched with utter horror as Naraku released a wave of toxic poision into the air, capturing Shippo and Inuyasha within its grasps. Kirara jumped into the air in time, but was quickly struck down by another of Naraku's tentacles.

Kagome wanted to scream. She had lost all that was dear to her in just those few moments. She felt as if a part of her had died along with her friends, that is, until she was completely filled with anger. She began to glow a pale pink as her eyes shifted to a translucent color. Naraku merely looked at her as she began walking towards him. Shooting a tentacle t her, he was surprised as it deteriorated before it even touched her. She was getting closer, and Naraku could practically feel the power rolling off of her form. He tried to retreat, but found that he could not move. Staring blankly at her approaching form, Naraku could do nothing but wait until she ended his life. He didn't have to wait long.

With a quick movement of her wrist, Kagome shot forward a thin beam of white, piercing Naraku's barrier and catching him square in the middle of his "heart." He cried out in pain as the beam thickened, enveloping the rest of his body in a bright light as it casted him into oblivion.

Seeing that he was no longer there, Kagome calmed a bit, enough for her powers to drain from her form. She fell quietly onto the ground, her mind sinking into a state or blissful unconsciousness.

(End of Flashback)

And that was where she woke up, in the bloody battlefield where her friends had spent the last moments of their lives. She had burried them and then returned to camp to find their belongings still there and perched herself among the tallest branches of the tree. She did not cry for them. No, she would not allow herself to. She would hold it all in. They would not have wanted her to cry, she reasoned as she looked up at the sky. It was getting dark and the stars were beginning to shine.

'Today could have been a normal day...' she thought aimlessly. Her mind continued to fill itself with images of her friends' bloddy corpses until she feel into the blissful ignorance of sleep.

I hope you enjoy this so far!! Anyways, and R&Rs would be nice ^^
