Ending Sorrow by Night of the Raven

1

Quietly, a young woman no older then twenty sat at a old wooden desk with a pencil in hand. The only noise that could be heard in the contemporary style room was the scratching of a pencil as it furiously moved over the sheet of paper before her. Though she heard not a sound, the woman paused and cocked her head.

"There is a pad and a pencil on the table next to you. Write down your message, name and the address you wish it to be sent to and I will make sure it gets there."

Not waiting for an answer the woman impatiently brushed aside her long black hair and continued to write. Ever since she was five, Kagome was able to see ghosts. Most were very peaceful, only wanting to use her "gift" in order to get messages to their loved ones. For years, Kagome had done this happily, even when they began interrupting her at inconvenient times. These times being when she was with her fiancé.

She had met Sesshoumaru two years ago when she started college. He was handsome with long silver hair and warm amber eyes. He was tall and in shape. He was well spoken, and oh so good to her. The best part was how understanding he was with her "gift". Eventually, he was so understanding that he started to help her help them. The keyword was.

Sesshoumaru was killed six months ago. He had been going to a local gas station because they were out of milk. That same night some young punk had decided to put his life on the line for a few hundred dollars. Sesshoumaru was trying to help a young boy stay calm when the man gunned him down, a bullet through the back. By the time the police had arrived, Sesshoumaru was gone. Kagome waited and waited, but Sesshoumaru had never came to say goodbye. Unfortunately, this made her bitter. Why should she deliver everyone's messages if the person she loved the most never gave one to her?

Kagome felt the presence disappear and turned around and picked up the notepad, silently reading the message.

My Beloved Kagome,

I'm sorry it took so long but I had so much unfinished business to take care of. I needed to make sure you would be taken care of. There is a key in the bottom of my top dresser drawer. It goes to a safety deposit box at the bank. It is for a down payment of the new house we had our eye on. I was going to surprise on our wedding day but...that never happened did it? Please don't cry for me, I love you too much to see you in pain. I hope you will one day find someone to share the rest of your life with. Please for my sake, do not mourn for me for the rest of your life. Get outside and be happy.

With all my heart,

Sesshoumaru

Tears instantly sprang to Kagome's eyes.

"Oh Sesshoumaru!"

For one split moment, Kagomesaw his form out of the corner of her eye, even smelled his cologne. He smiled at her and faded.

The next morning, for the first time in six months, Kagome walked down to the café with notebook in hand. As she was entering, a man bumped into her, causing her to drop her notebook.

"Sorry."

The man picked up her notebook and gave it back to her. Kagome was shocked with bright red hair and green eyes. "I'm very sorry about that. My name is Kurama, may I treat you to a cup of coffee in order to apologize?"

At first Kagome was against and then she remembered Sesshoumaru's words, "I hope you will one day find someone to share the rest of your life with."

"That sounds great." Kagome said with a tentative smile.

"Great." he said smiling and gallantly leading her into the café.
