Invincible by Suicide

Missing

Since you guys were so nice, I will make a continuation of Untouchable. I just wanna say; thank you so much for reviewing. You guys are awesome.

I'm changing the points of view a bit. I'll be narrating instead of speaking through both sides. It was hard to get both of their thoughts together. So, here goes.

(*It'll probably make a little more sense if you read the first one "Untouchable" before reading this one if you haven't read "Untouchable" before.)

Disclaimer: I Own Not Inuyasha.

Invincible: adj. Incapable of being overcome or defeated; unconquerable.

Invincible: Bulletproof. Indomidable. Almighty. Omnipotent. Fearless. Resolute. Unconquerable. Controlling. Unquestionable.

"I am with child."

She whispered hoarsly, dreading yet anticipating his responce. Her smile faded when he said nothing.

"What's wrong?" she asked worriedly.

He turned and walked briskly away from her.

A sudden fear gripped her. Tears welled from her eyes.

"Sesshoumaru-sama?"

No reply.

"Sesshoumaru! Wait! Stop!"

Kagome cried in desperation. She raced after his retreating figure.

Panting, she stopped in front of him. Her eyes searched for his.

For a split second she saw such anger, such brilliant passion dancing in his eyes. His brows were furrowed and his face was set to a grimace. But such an expression was replaced by a stoic mask. His youki danced in rage, calling her involuntary aura out in shocking crackles.

He growled at her.

She took two steps back. Her maternal instinct to protect her unborn child brought a rise in her pure powers.

She was threatened.

He paused for a moment, as if to contemplate the consequences of advancing. Just as quickly, he dismissed the idea. He drew in his youki and straightened himself, as if nothing had happened and said:

"You will come and take shelter under my roof."

Kagome blinked in surprise.

Obviously that was not what she had expected.

"Why?" She asked.

"My reasons are none of your concern. Go pack, we leave at dawn."

Kagome stood there, shocked. Then, with an indignant 'hmph', turned her heels and walked away.

Sesshoumaru watched her with observant eyes. He did notice the slightest growth in her stomach area. He did notice that for the last two months her regular moon cycles were of absence. He had noticed for quite a while now.

She knows that she's with child.

Yet she chooses to stay with her friends.

Does she not care of his pup?

Sesshoumaru frowned and dismissed the idea. Kagome was not someone who would be so heartless.

She was no youkai either. Her pups would be half-breeds. Perhaps even worse than half-breeds.

He had followed his father's footsteps a bit too well. This had never been his intention. A human female as mate would be disgraceful for a youkai of his position. There would be inevitable controversy and disapproval among his subjects and not to mention the other lords. His father's mistake was looked upon as shameful deed. The other lords had refused to accept the female as lady. Thus his father had to leave her with the humans - causing the incident that led to his death. Humans will be the downfall of youkai yet. The insufferable creatures.

Yet he had took one to bed. Yet he has taken one as ward.

He sighed inwardly.

Trouble seemed to find him wherever he walks.

The gods truly enjoy toying with him.

---

Kagome fumed as she made her way through the village.

Now, really, who was he to ask - no - command her to leave with him?

Why, obviously, he was the Great Taiyoukai of the West. The biggest jerk around.

She entered her room and sat down with a sigh.

What to do now?

Her chin came to rest on the back of her hand in contemplation. A habit she had picked up from Sesshoumaru.

Obviously, disobeying the tyrant was out of the question. He would wipe the village clean from existance as soon as the idea came to him. But if she left with him, surely the confinement would destroy her spirits. Besides, she could never leave Shippo or the others.

She sighed again.

When did life get so complicated?

A rustle of fabric alerted Kagome. She perked up.

Quick, angry footsteps rushed outside.

"Kagome! Youkai attack!"

The familiar loud voice of Inuyasha called from the outside. She stood quickly and grabbed her bow and arrows.

A crash sounded from the eastern edges of the village. Yells and curses were thrown about. The chaos was quickly getting out of hand.

She practically flew out the door, almost tripping on a child's abandoned toy.

Cursing under her breath, she dashed toward the noise, drawing an arrow in a fluid motions. Her miko powers rose as several demonic aura reached her senses.

Evil.

She nearly flinched at the taint of their auras. As black as coal. As cold as ice, yet as hot as flames. It stung her mind and made her gag in disgust. The rancid smell of rot made her eyes water. A metallic taste started from the back of her mouth. She swallowed several times to get rid of it.

Inuyasha was already engaged in battle with a youkai. Sango and Miroku were also both occupied. Shippo was nowhere to be seen, thank the kami for that. Kirara bound from one place to another, dodging random attacks. The villagers held feeble weaponry and made no move to help.

She drew the bowstring back and felt the strain in her arm.

Thwang

She released the arrow and let it soar. There was no mistake in her accuracy.

She has had practice since last time in battle.

A streak of pink violet trailed from her arrow. Without a doubt, it hit its mark. The youkai harassing Kirara was purified - its body in ashes quickly blown away by the wind.

Something's not right. Kagome shivered. The youkai she just destroyed had a weak aura. It was nothing compared to the ones before.

Realization hit her like a ton of bricks.

Decoys!

She drew her bow tight and swirved to see a monster streak towards her. She recongnized the putrid smell and the same metallic taste in her mouth. Instinctively, she drew the bow tight and released with force.

The arrow glowed bright - brighter than the one before; for she had concentrated harder. The large burst of pure energy shot right through the being.

The sound of its dying scream reverberated in her ears.

Another came from the left. She launched another arrow with the same speed and accuracy.

There were too many.

From the right!

Left!

Behind!

As quickly as they came, she took them down. Still, they came - relentlessly seeking her death.

Kagome strung her last arrow.

'Kami kuso' She cursed in her head.

Where was Inuyasha?

She peered through the corner of her eye.

Everyone was swarmed. The villagers were nowhere in sight.

She couldn't blame them for running. Staying would have been useless and a waste of lives.

My last arrow

May it fly true

She closed her eyes and let it soar.

---

The youki.

It's heavy.

Sesshoumaru turned toward the direction of the village.

An excess of demonic aura. Something's definately wrong. There were enough youki to determine a large army.

An attack.

The scent of blood, sweat, and death wafted on the breeze. He frowned.

Kagome

Wordlessly, he began towards the village.

The closer he reached, the darker the aura. The heavier the scent. The sound of battle rang in his ears. He has missed the sound. It's been quite a while.

He felt his demonic blood run faster. Hotter. Fierce. The anticipation of battle sang in his blood.

His lips curled into a smirk.

His claws glowed green. Acid flowed freely. He sprang into battle.

Youkai poured into the village from no visible source. They just came.

He was fine with that.

It has been long since he'd killed someone.

Striking out with unimaginable speed, Sesshoumaru cleared a line of youkai. His whip swirled in a loop around him. His movements were fluent and graceful. Everything he did was as if a dance. Each pivot and turn were smooth and effortless. All the while, his whip struck out at any movement that caught his eye.

They were persistant.

He began to bore.

Irritably, he struck with quicker movements. The flow of youkai begin to thin out. Their stench also begin dissapating.

Killing off the last remaining pests, he moved forward, intent on finding Kagome.

The sun has begun to rise.

She was nowhere to be found.

Her lingering scent brought him to the eastern side of the village.

There he found Inuyasha and his comrades.

Something was wrong.

"Where is the girl?" He asked, toneless.

Inuyasha looked up and growled. He shook his head.

The monk rose with difficulty and limped towards him.

"Sesshoumaru-sama, Kagome is nowhere to be found. We were all swarmed and it was after the battle that we noticed her missing," said the monk.

"We found Kagome's bow... and a piece of torn clothing." Interjected the demon-slayer. She has been crying.

"Inuyasha." Sesshoumaru growled in low tenor.

The boy looked up.

"You will be reprimanded for your inability to guard her."

He looked confused. Perhaps Kagome didn't tell him the 'condition' she was in. Surely Inuyasha's nose would have told him. But then again, Kagome could've masked her scent or maybe the boy was just too ignorant to understand the scent.

Inuyasha looked lost. His ears were flattened to his head. His eyes were angry.

"You're the one who's supposed to watch her! You can't even take care of your own woman!" The welp barked back.

"A human woman means nothing to this Sesshoumaru."

It was a lie.

They both know it.

Sesshoumaru stood for a moment.

He picked up the bow and dropped it suddenly.

His hand was scorched.

The bow has lingering powers of the girl. It would seem that she'd put much effort in the battle.

Instead of trying to pick up the bow again, he took the scrap of clothing.

Indeed, it was of her scent.

Her blood had hardened the cloth slightly.

He growled.

Breathing in, he caught a light waft of her scent on the air.

Silently, he turned and left.

I must find her.

Yeah, I know. Short chapter. I've been super busy, but hey, the weekends are coming up and I am ready for some writing.

The sad thing is I'm moving, so I won't be at a computer for a while. But fear not! For I will write still, it'll just take a while between updates. Bear with me my friends. Thanks a lot.
