Cold

Chapter 1: I hate you

Kagome stared through the moonlit branches as Inuyasha and Kikyo made love, if that's what you call it. She never felt so betrayed by someone in her whole life. He had told her earlier that day that he loved her with all of his heart, yet he betrayed her. Oblivious to kagome, her eyes turned blacker than a night with no moon. Her hair turned black as well, betraying its natural coffee brown. A black aura killed the shrubbery and trees around her, leaving them shriveled, twisted, and black. The ground was bare of all grass and the nocturnal animals of the night went dead quiet.

A great power swept throughout the area as kagome's anger and hurt found an outlet. She backed away from the scene that tore her heart in two. She walked through the dense forest to a lake. She sat upon a huge boulder and looked down into the clear water. Her ghostly reflection shone back at her. Her black eyes stared out of a pale face, her pitch black hair hung limply down to her waist all life gone from it.

Her eyes held no emotion as she stared at herself in the still water. "Like what you see?" said a deep voice. Kagome didn't turn to face its owner; Sesshomaru. She had once been scared of the lord of the western lands, but not anymore. Kagome didn't care if she lived or died at this point. She turned slowly to face Sesshomaru; he stood there alone, his long silver-blue hair swayed in the light breeze. His eyes pierced hers and he stared at her.

There eyes locked and Sesshomaru was amazed yet curious at her gaze. Her black eyes were empty, not holding the happiness they used to hold. All they held was sorrow and hate. What could have happened to make her so cold and unforgiving?

She stood up and walked toward him and placed a hand on his chest. She looked into his eyes once more before walking away into the forest, back to camp. Sesshomaru could only stare after her; stare at the human that had made a place for herself in his heart.

Kagome walked to the well and jumped in not sparing her sleeping friends a second glance. Soon she was back in her own time, and climbed out of the well using the rope ladder her grandfather had put there. When she climbed out, she saw that it was around two o'clock here while it was night in the feudal era. Kagome didn't feel like giving herself a headache while trying to discover why the time works differently.

She walked into the house to find it empty; her family must have gone out. Kagome walked upstairs to her room and shut the door. She walked over to her closet and started rummaging around till she found what she was looking for; her clothes from when she was depressed after her father died.

Her father had died 5 years ago from a sickness none knew he had until it was too late. Since him and kagome always hung out, it was like losing your best friend. She became depressed after his death and wore only black. She pulled out the white box and lifted the lid; the clothes still looked like new.

Kagome showed and dressed in ripped tight, black, pants that had rips over her knees and on her thighs showing smooth white skin. She put on a black bra and over that went a fishnet top that clung to her every curve. At the end the shirt, was a hole that kagome stuck her middle fingers through. Over her fishnet top went a tight black shirt that had sleeves that stopped a couple of inches before her wrist.

She put on a pair of black boots and brushed her straight black till it shined. She then brushed her bangs flat over her eyes, so you could barely see them. Kagome them pulled on her black leather trench coat and slung her black book bag over one shoulder before leaving out the same way she came.

Kagome walked to the well while letting a small smile come to her face at the thought of Inuyasha's face. Whatever, she no longer held feelings for him. If her wanted to run off with the dead claypot, then so be it. She offered him a chance to be with someone who was real and who did not want to carry him into hell. Kagome jumped into the well and came out in the feudal era.

The sun was just beginning to rise. She sat on the worn wood of the well watching the sun rise. She was almost at peace when she felt the cool metal of tetsusaiga on her throat.

"Who are you demon? Did Naraku send you? What are you doing here?" Inuyasha demanded. Kagome pushed the tip of tetsusaiga away from her throat and turned her body toward Inuyasha. She could see behind him the faces of Sango, Miroku, Shippo, and Sesshomaru leaning against a tree looking at her oddly.

"You do not recognize me Inuyasha? One would think you would recognize the one you hurt." She said her gaze turning cold. Her voice was pure ice no emotion was so ever.

"Kagome? It can't be you. What the hell are you wearing? And what do you mean the one you hurt? I never hurt you!" he yelled at her. His response angered kagome and something dormant inside of her awoke. Before Inuyasha could react kagome held him by the throat and pinning him against a tree. His bare feet hung inches off the ground.

"Don't lie Inuyasha. You have hurt me in more ways than your feeble mind can imagine. You snuck behind my back and fucked that claypot when you knew I held feelings for you! You knew all along that you were hurting me, yet you did it anyway. That just proves how caring for me you actually are." She said releasing him and letting him fall to the forest floor. Inuyasha reached up and massaged his throat; where had she learned a grip like that? She stood above him, head cocked to the side as she looked down on him. "You are not worth my time Inuyasha. Tell me, can you bear the thought on your conscious that you reduced me to the cold, unforgiving person you see before you?" kagome then walked away from him into the forest never sparing any of the shocked faces a second glance.
