Kagome

Chapter 1

Once upon a time, on the north side of Yokohama, not far from Tokyo, there was a very large mansion, almost a castle, where there lived a family by the name of Taisho. The estate was very large indeed and had many servants. There were gardeners to take care of the gardens. There was a boatman to place the boats on the water in the spring, and scrape their bottoms in the winter. There were outdoor tennis courts and indoor tennis courts, there was an outdoor swimming pool, and an indoor swimming pool.

Also on the estate there was a chauffeur by the name of Higarashi, who had been born in Paris yet a decedent of Japanese heritage, he was imported from Europe years ago, together with a new Rolls-Royce.

Higarashi was a fine chauffeur of considerable polish, just like the 8 cars in his care.

He also had a daughter by the name of....Kagome.

It was the eve of an annual boat race within the city for the wealth and elite, and the Taisho's were giving a party. It never rained on a Taisho party, the Taisho's would have never stood for that.

There were four Taisho's in all. Father, Mother, and their two sons.

Sesshoumaru Taisho was the eldest, and graduated with top honors from Yale in the states.

His brother Inuyasha, went through several of the best colleges,

For short periods of time.

And several marriages of even shorter amounts of time.

He was now a successful baseball player in Japan.

Life for the Taisho's was pleasant,

And this was as close to heaven as one could get in Yokohama.

"Kagome!!"

"Get out of that tree this instant, you need to finish packing!"

"Who's the girl Daddy, dancing with Inuyasha?"

"Thats Kuri Masomoto, heir to Masomoto bank."

"I hate girls that giggle so much." Kagome grumbled.

"You hate any girl who Inuyasha looks at."

Kagome scowled.

"You can't go on like this Kagome, you need to get over Inuyasha."

"Yeah okay Dad."

"It's good your going to Paris, I only hope it will be far enough away."

"Yeah okay Dad."

"Come along Kagome."

"I'll be up in a few Dad."

As soon as her father walked away Kagome heard the giggling of that girl rush by her. Then she saw Inuyasha. She slid unladylike from the tree branch onto the ground.

"Oh it's you, Kagome."

"Hello Inuyasha."

"I thought I heard somebody."

"Nope, it's nobody." She smiled as she pulled her glasses up.

"Yoohoo Kuri!!" Inuyasha yelled as he caught site of the young girl running into the tennis courts.

Kagome watched as he turned to run after her without a second glance in her direction. She watched them tease and laugh together, and soon after, drinks in hand she watched them walk in to the large indoor pool room, she could see from the shadows their intense and very intimate kiss.

Kagome sighed and began walking up to her room.

"Kagome?"

"Yah Dad?"

"Don't forget your passport tomorrow"

"Okay Dad."

"Yah know, its not every day that a girl gets lucky enough to be able to go to a culinary school in Paris. Ah Paris, you will love it there darling." He smiled.

"Your mother would be so proud to see you going there, not that you have to be a chef or anything, but well, you know how I feel." Her father sighed.

"Just remember child, don't reach for the moon."

"Yah Dad, I know."

"Get some good rest tonight, I will wake you at 8 am."

"Goodnight Dad."

"Goodnight sweetheart."

Kagome walked into her room separate from her fathers home and slumped into her chair. She looked out the window and watched as the stars glittered in the sky.

"...Don't reach for the moon child..."

"What would ever give you that idea Dad?" She laughed sarcastically. Kagome felt terrible. Yokohama was all she ever knew. Sure Paris was a great place, a great opportunity, her fathers birthplace, but all that she wanted was right here. In this house. So close she could smell him. But she couldn't seem to reach him, no matter what. He just wasn't interested in Kagome. She cursed her nerdy glasses and her long unmanageable wavy hair. Tears began to fall of their own accord.

She quietly walked back out of her room and into the garage area where the cars were held.

Sesshoumaru pulled into the driveway and shut off the vehicle. He heard from within the garage the sound of multiple car engines going.

"Whats going on?!"

"Higarashi!!"

'Is their anyone here?"

"Oh Hi!"

"Kagome, come out of their, come on."

"What are you doing in there?"

"Eh...checking spark plugs, yes!"

"Excuse me?"

"Yes spark plugs, Daddy was worried their was a spark plug missing in one of the motors, so....I decided to check them all."

"So you started the cars and closed the doors?" He eyed her suspiciously.

"Eh...I didn't want to disturb anyone."

"And you might not have ever again."

Kagome giggled nervously and began to stagger. Her vision blurred.

"Kagome!"

Kagome awoke to a very concerned Sesshoumaru. He was holding her in his arms and tapping her face.

"Kagome, breathe, breathe deeply." He instructed.

Kagome breathed in, her vision becoming more clear.

"Wha..What happened?"

"You passed out."

Sesshoumaru hoisted her up and began to carry her.

"Sesshoumaru you don't have to carry me, I'm fine!" Kagome proclaimed slightly embarrassed.

"...Of all the idiot things..." He mumbled.

Kagome furrowed her brows in confusion. He stared at her.

"Haven't you ever heard of carbon monoxide poisoning?! It kills people."

"It does?"

"And you can imagine what could have happened if I hadn't come along."

"I would have died?"

"And rather quickly, 8 cars, I'm surprised at you Kagome."

"I suppose its a good thing I drove Mrs. Masomoto home."

"Mrs. Masomoto, Kuri's mother? Where is Kuri?"

"We cannot find Kuri she..."

"She what?"

"Nothing."

Sesshoumaru knew Kagome's crush over his brother. He didn't want to affect her anymore then she had already been affected.

"Next time you start a car...or several for that matter, remember to keep the doors open, understood?"

"A chauffeurs daughter should know better."

"Yes Sesshoumaru."

Paris...

"Bonjour, mes dames et messieurs!"

"Today we will be learning how to correctly boil water and crack eggs. It is very simple and after today's class you will become an expertise in the area of cracking a fine egg."

"An egg is not a stone, it is not made of wood, it has a heart, it is a living thing and should be treated with the least amount of cruelty on our part, it must be executed quickly and mercifully."

"So now, les begin shall we?"

"With a simple flip of the wrist, one, two, three, crack!"

*Letter to Father-

Cher Papa,

Bonjour from beautiful Paris! Isn't my French getting good? I've finished four weeks of culinary school and I am doing rather well, Although I almost flunked the hollandaise test, it kept separating on me.

-Too much Vinegar. Her father said allowed as he read the letter. Kaede a long time resident who managed the main house walked over to Mr. Higarashi.

"Does she mention Inuyasha?" "By the way Sesshoumaru-sama is ready to go to town."

Mr. Higarashi continued reading on without looking up. "No she does not, wait."

I don't think of Inuyasha very much.

-Well thats good.

Only at night.

-Thats bad.

So I decided to rip up his picture I had of him.

-Thats good.

Please mail me some scotch tape.

-Thats bad.

"Morning Mr. Taisho."

"Good Morning Higarashi, two windows open, 30 kilometers please."

"Yes Sir."

Mr. Higarashi began to drive quietly as he listened to Sesshoumaru speak into his cell phone regarding the latest stock market prices. Before they left the gates Mr. Higarashi slowed at the wave of Inuyasha's hand towards the car.

Sesshoumaru turned to look at his brother.

'Good morning little brother."

"Hey, where you off to?"

"The office of course, where do you think?"

"The office? On a Sunday??"

"Today is not Sunday it is Wednesday little brother."

And with that Sesshoumaru motioned for the car to continue and they were soon driving on the highway towards Tokyo.

"She still loves him." He mumbled inchorently.

"I beg your pardon?" Sesshoumaru raised an eyebrow.

" Eh, she loves the Culinary school Sir."

"She'll get over it." Sesshoumaru added in a whisper.

Hello All!! Yes Sintar is back, and with something new. Well, something old and slightly borrowed. I was watching an old 50's Audrey Hepburn movie this afternoon and its one of my personal favorites, it's called Sabrina, and I have to say after I watched it I thought, this is perfect for a Sess/Kag story!!! I haven't been doing much writing since I became pregnant, yes Sintar is pregnant, shes a having a girl ^^. And so I thought this might be fun. Sesshoumaru is most definitely ooc, hes funny and caring in this one, but this is an Alternate Universe so what do you want. Besides I like making Sessy ooc, its fun XD. So anyways I hope you enjoy and I will have a new chapter up soon ^^V. By the way for the most part, this first chapter might seem word for word like the movie, but the rest of the writing is mine, just a borrowed story line. Hope you like it.
