Yin and Yang

A/N: This is just a story I got from no where, I'm starting this practically in the middle of the night when I felt like I wanted to write something and got a flashing brilliant idea.

Disclaimer: I do not own the show Inuyasha.

Summary: The wind was picking up, the chilling night air was getting colder by the second. She looked at the figure lying motionlessly on the forest ground. She peered closer to see his face... Why does this stranger look exactly like Sesshoumaru?

Chapter One

Severed

-

Two forces were tearing him apart, the forces of good and evil were trying to separate each other. Is it that time yet again?

Her eye lashes that were fanned across her cheeks fluttered open and she slowly sat up and stretched throwing her arms up in the air. Covering her mouth she let out a light yawn.

She closed her eyes again, listening to the birds chirping in the sky. Breathing in the damp cold breeze that blew by and cooled her heated skin. The morning was perfect, she could almost hear the classical music she listened to on the morning radio ringing in her-

"Kagome, hurry up and make some of that ninja food I'm starving!" She winced when she heard the rough voice penetrate through her ears, well, it was almost the perfect morning.

She sighed, "Okay, I'll make some ramen, the least you can say is please,"she almost whispered as she crawled out of her warm sleeping bag and started to roll it up and put it away.

Standing up was a bit harder today, she felt a little dizzy and a minor headache was catching on. Walking with trembling legs to her yellow backpack, she almost fell over when she tried to bend down. Luckily a pair of strong arms encircled her waist and caught her before she toppled over.

She looked up to his golden pools which were twisted with concern and he noticed the slight bags under her eyes, her face was flushed.

He let her stand on her own feet and lifted a hand to her forehead.

"Your sick." He simply stated. "Sango can make the food for today, your sleeping."

Kagome didn't have the power to argue right then so she nodded and obeyed unpacking her sleeping bag and crawling back into it.

Miroku woke up just in time to hear Inuyasha's last two statements.

"Is lady Kagome alright?" He asked Inuyasha who was looking for something in Kagome's abnormally huge backpack.

"Yeah, she's running a fever, nothing serious though."

"What are you looking for?" Miroku questioned, while Inuyasha was still digging through all the items Kagome possessed.

"Medicine or something useful, genius." Inuyasha barked at the monk.

Miroku gave Inuyasha a skeptical look. "Since when do you know what the medicine from Kagome's era look like. Besides wasting your time you can go to the stream near by and fetch us a bottles of cold water." Miroku grabbed his staff and got up from his position awfully close to the demon slayer.

"Feh, I was getting to that!" Inuyasha grumbled as he stood up grabbing a few bottles before making his way to the forest.

"What's all this talking about?" Sango rubbed her eyes and looked at Miroku as she got up to stand beside him.

She started to blush furiously and a loud slap was heard through the trees scaring some close by birds away.

"When will you ever learn?" Sango mumbled as she walked over to Kagome's sleeping form.

"What happened to her? She looks awful." Sango asked in worry.

"She's slight fever Inuyasha said." Miroku replied while rubbing his bruised cheek.

Sango fetched some packages of Ramen and a couple of bowls, chopsticks, and a little pot while Miroku decided to make himself useful and got a couple of cloth strips he found in Kagome's bag.

Now it was Shippo's turn to wake up. Kilala was already awake and had heard all the commotion.

"Isn't Kagome making the food today, Sango? Shippo asked with curiosity as Sango started the fire.

"She's a little sick today, but it's nothing to worry about." Sango reassured the kitsune pup.

Shippo nodded and ran to Kagome's side to check on her, she didn't look so good he noted after staring for a while.

"Shippo, mind coming over here and helping me pour these bowls? These noodles sure cook fast."

"Okay!" Shippo yipped excitedly.

Inuyasha came through the clearing with a few bottles filled with water.

"Good, you got the water." Miroku opened one of the bottles and poured the water into a spare bowl. He wet the folded piece of cloth and dabbed the beads of sweat forming on Kagome's forehead.

"The food's ready!" He head Sango inform.

Shippo was already slurping up his serving and Inuyasha was on his second already, Miroku went over and started to enjoy his food while Sango poured Kagome's and her own serving. Kilala mewed happily as she devoured her cat nip Kagome had brought for her.

Inuyasha finished and put his bowl down. "I'll give Kagome her food." He said as he got up holding her food and walked over to her.

"Kagome, wake up." Inuyasha shook her shoulder lightly as she opened her eyes. "Eat your food."

Kagome stirred as she awoke, "huh?" When she opened her eyes, revealing her chocolate brown orbs, as she let a small smile form on her lips. "Inuyasha." She said with delight.

She sat up with a little help from Inuyasha and accepted the bowl he handed to her, grabbing the chopsticks out of his hands. She almost squealed, the food tasted so good, Sango always was the better cook.

"This is delicious!" She said as she took some more noodles into her mouth before slurping the rest of it.

Sango turned her head from her finished meal, "thank you." Noticing everyone was finished eating she collected the bowls and started walking out of the clearing. "I'm going to the stream to wash these." She informed before she walked away.

Kagome went back to sleeping, while Inuyasha jumped onto the branch above her and kept watch.

Night was settling in and they hadn't been able to do much, Kagome was forbidden to do anything besides sleep which was ordered by Inuyasha and her fever just seems to be getting worse.

"Kagome, you sure there's nothing in your backpack for your fever, your hot to the touch." Sango said crawling to Kagome's side.

"I'm not sure, there might be some Advil in there to reduce the headache. The little container with green and white covering." Kagome mumbled.

"You mean this one?" Sango asked while holding a mini bottle she found in the bag.

Kagome turned to Sango and nodded.

Sango gave the water container to Kagome and an Advil pill and helped Kagome sit up to

swallow the pill. When she fell back onto the little pillow. Miroku, who was now at her side dabbed her newly formed droplets of sweat off her forehead with the piece of cloth he had.

Inuyasha had been spending the whole day watching Kagome never getting off his perch besides to eat or go do nature's nature's business.

Shippo and Kilala had been beside her the whole day also, always ready if Kagome needed anything.

The stars were appearing taking their positions around the moon which shone like a patch on white in a black blanket of cloth.

Everyone was getting ready to go to sleep. Shippo was already sleeping cuddled up with Kilala. Miroku was setting his sleeping bag next to Sango who gladly moved away.

"Kagome if you need anything just yell, okay?" Sango said.

"Sure."

"We'll have to go see a doctor from the closest village if her fever doesn't go down. I guess we have lay off on the shard hunting for a few days." Miroku added in.

Inuyasha grunted.

Before long the whole group was sleeping, even Inuyasha was in a light doze lazily sprawled on the tree branch. His dog ears were ready for any noise.

Kagome twisted and turned in her sleeping bag, whimpering and breathing hard. Cold sweat poured down her face.

She was in the middle of a forest, the trees were so thick they barely let any moonlight seek it's way through. The forest looked moist and damp, Kagome looked at her surroundings.

'Where am I?' She thought worried.

The branches were blowing in the gusts of wind and it was dead silent. No eerie sounds, no sound of nocturnals animals, nothing.

She took a little step as if something was going to happen, but what did she expect? The ground to split open and take her to the depths of the earth?

Her second look around, she caught something at the corner of her eye. A shadow of an animal she thought... or was it a person. The silhouette was motionless, as she moved closer to the figure, her nervousness began to rise. When she was standing at least a meter away from the figure, his face was still shadowed. She could see this person was severely injured.

He was lying at the base of a tree, it was a demon of course. His black locks seemed to glow with reddish hues from the moon. Odd, she thought. She could sense his spirit was resting and at the moment he seemed vulnerable to anything. He looked so innocent, she still couldn't see his face.

The moonlight shone off his face as she peered in. Suddenly she let out a little startled gasp.

He... he looks exactly like...

But...

Kagome suddenly woke up, she was panting hard, it wasn't the scariest dream she had, but it was the most mysterious. It seemed so clear, like she was actually their, like she could actually feel the gust of cold wind that blew by, giving her goosebumps. It was not like other dreams, she could recollect it all, and no parts when you all of the sudden skip to somewhere else.

She sighed and held a hand to her forehead feeling her sweat running down her forehead like rivers.

The wind was getting colder, and she was no where near the flaming fire, they had moved her away thinking that it would increase her fever when she was sick. Now she felt a lot better, the Advil must have worked. She felt cooled off, but she almost felt too cold.

Kagome messaged her temples and thought of going for a walk, Inuyasha wouldn't mind, would he? She could stay close by the protection of the camp.

When she stood up she felt like a noodle, wobbling here and there with no balance. She slowly started to take small steps, her feet padding lightly on the ground. She was nearing the edge of the clearing and Inuyasha seemed to be snoozing still. She had a feeling he wouldn't wake up soon.

Walking endlessly, she stopped. It seemed that she had found the stream. She washed her face with the cool water, that felt good. She mentally noted to herself that she would need a bath tomorrow. Guessing it was midnight now, she thought of turning back, but something caught her eye.

The forest in front of her looked, looked familiar. It was just like in her dream, she wanted to go closer but the stream was blocking her way, finding a few stepping stones she hopped across.

Curiosity getting the better of her, she continued on, until she stood in the exact same spot she was standing in her dream.

The forest was dead silent, the air was getting more chilly and the wind was picking up. Little moonlight poking through the dense tree branches.

Taking a step froward, nausea hit her like a baseball bat. She felt dizzy and that she was going to loose her last meal. But she had to keep walking just to see.

Looking harder, as her vision started to get unstable and blurry, she caught a glimpse of the silhouette. Just like her dream, sitting at the base of the tree, injured and vulnerable. His spirit seemed to show no threat. She saw the black tendrils glowing red in the damp moonlight. Peering closer to his face...

He looked exactly like... like Sesshoumaru. Thought the difference was his hair colour, and the markings on his face were light blue except for the crescent that sat on the forehead between the parted bangs.

His lips were slightly open, and his breathing was ragged. She noticed his clothing was a little different than Sesshoumaru too, it was all black except for the markings which were light blue as well.

Another wave of nausea hit her, this time she felt herself loosing consciousness. Her vision faded to black and she collapsed on top of the black haired stranger.

A/N: Well, did you like it. I'll try to update whenever possible. Please send reviews, I love to read them and it helps influence this story. I had a feeling to split Sesshoumaru, just to have fun writing about the different sides of him. ^^
