Rin was tired. Of course we wanted to sit down. She wanted the park. I followed her quietly, not noticing when Rin began speaking to a woman on the bench. Not until I heard her voice. I'd know that voice anywhere.
Peering up, I almost cried out, but that was unlike me. Raven hair gently blowing in the fall wind, electric brown eyes, it was her. I hadn't seen her for five years and she looked just as beautiful as she did five years ago, when she was fifteen.
I remember like it was yesterday the day I'd met her. Then she'd been my annoying brother's wench\\, nothing but a lowly ningen to me.
Again, I noted, my brother and his wench were fighting. I'd never met her, but by raiding my younger brother's diary, I'd found quite a bit about her. Childish I'll admit, but useful for blackmail.
"I HATE YOU!" The voice was more feminine and I new it was Kagome. Her name I only said in my mind then. My brother I realized backhanded her.
This angered me, for I'd learned to respect females, regardless of their mouthy attitudes. "Inuyasha..." My father beat me, I saw him standing over my brother, his face red with anger.
My brother although only a hanyou was quite strong, especially to a human, had knocked her into a wall, she was unconscious, and the back of her head bleeding by the time I'd reached her. My father was busy punishing Inuyasha to notice me taking the girl.
Hours after I'd bandaged her head, she awoke. I allowed a smile to cross my lips as she muttered a, "I feel like hell." Moments after she looked up at me, my smile gone, I asked how she felt, even after I'd heard her. "Like hell, why'd he do that?"
For a few seconds I expected her to cry, whimper, scream something of the sort, but not for her to shake her head and let out a sigh. "Asshole." I did a double take. Did she just call my brother an asshole?
After she'd recovered, I hung out with her more.
I smiled ruefully at the memory, Kagome had been one to never pass a challenge, and that day hadn't been different. Being the idiot Inuyasha was (and still is) he compared Kagome, who was lovely, sweet, caring, enigmatic, and stubborn, to her lifeless, soulless, cousin Kikyou. Kagome, not one to say anything compared Inuyasha to me, who I found out, said he was pompous, arrogant, immature, and idiotic. She said about me as I later read Inu's diary, that I was honorable, a hard worker, and everything Inuyasha wasn't.
A bit cruel but true. Even I had to admit that. And after he'd slapped her, he deserved those words more than ever. Kagome really was something. After taking her to eat that very same day, I found that she occupied my thoughts, no matter what I did. Son, I thought she had cursed me and I was angered, annoyed, and mostly scared, I was feeling emotions I'd never felt in my life. True, I'd had past lovers, but Kagome wasn't like any of the idiots who only wanted my money, or to sleep with me. She never tired to impress me, or anyone.
Kagome wasn't overly beautiful, not like the other woman I'd seen, but she didn't have the pampered beauty I'd been used to. Her beauty could be compared to natural beauty. She never wore make-up saying it suffocated her skin, she never wore expensive clothing, saying, if it was comfy it worked. Kagome never kept up with the latest styles, saying all those rich priss' were the only ones with enough money for those clothes.
Once, when Id angered her, she'd asked me, "When will that stick up your ass come out? Because I'm not waiting forever you know!" I remembered that day so clearly, one of my favorite memories.
I'd promised to take her to eat, it was her birthday, we hadn't dated yet and the yearning to kiss her lips had entered my mind, and I found myself ignoring her. Of course she'd screamed.
"When will that stick up your ass come out? Because I'm not waiting forever you know!" At that moment I'd never seen her look more beautiful. Her bun messily tied and her eyes flashing as she waited for my answer. I knew at that moment what I wanted to ask her.
"Kagome...." I murmured. Surprised at how her eyes softened, she sat down and replied with a yes.
"Will you...?" I didn't know what words to use. On a normal basis, woman threw themselves at me, me not having to say anything to them. Kagome understood. With a nod she leaned over and kissed my cheek softly. "I was hoping you'd ask."
Happiness flooded through me as I reached into my pocket and retrieved my birthday gift for her. It had cost so much, and I hoped she liked it. Opening it, her face lit up like a light bulb, and I knew she loved it. "Oh, Sesshoumaru, it's....gorgeous!"
Slipping on the golden trinket, she asked me to clasp it around her neck. I stood and moved around her. Leaning down, I felt her hair prickle as I neared her to clasp the necklace. Breathing down, I whispered for her ears only, "You look beautiful..." Smiling down at her, I hugged her, not surprised when the media shot pictures. I was famous, for my business after my father had passed it on to me. "
A reporter was shooting live, "Yes folks it's true, the famous Sesshoumaru is no longer single, the lucky girl is no other than Kagome Higurashi, who he's been spotted around the city with, we all knew it was a matter of time before they became a couple."
Although Kagome never had liked the paparazzi following her and I around she smiled, and said "Yep girls, he's all mine!" I smiled and we refused to reply to anymore questions."
After that I spent all my time with her, almost neglecting my work at the company, but she knew I was slacking, and it was because of her, so she let me hire her as a secretary. I had her near me at all times. I went to drastic measures when males catcalled, they all knew she was mine.
I heard Rin call to me, "Yes?" I ignored Kagome, for fear I would confess my love to her, for the truth was, I was a married man, and I could love no other. Even if I didn't love Rin. I had fallen into her trap, refusing to believe when people told me of her gold digging ways. I refused to believe she wasn't the sweet woman I believed her to be.
"I know you know her, meet her son, Kinjo!" I stared at Rin in surprise then realized of course she knew I knew Kagome. Looking down, I gave a rare smile at her son. Suddenly, I realized, the boy had silver hair and golden eyes. Fuzzy ears lay atop his head, meaning he wasn't my brother's.

Author's Notes: Muhahahahaha haha yep, I'm stopping I here, I love getting reviews. I'm working on the next part of this story. And I'm sure you know whose son Kinjo is, sweet name no idea what it means, it's cool though. Kagome was fifteen when Sesshoumaru left her, meaning she is twenty now, he was eighteen when he left her, so now he's twenty-three.
Yeah, I didn't want them to be old. Since I'm young myself and have no experience in the outside world, I can't write about midlife crisis or anything. So deal with it. I'm working on this two-shot before I update my other story. I'm going to update my Condom? Sorta, maybe. School's back in. So, updates won't be as much, but eight grade sounds easy.
Anyway I'll update once I get fifty reviews, yes I said fifty! No more, no less and I will count! Yes I'm evil, my but reviews on my other stories have been lacking, so to find out the rest of the story fifty people will have to update and it doesn't count if the same person reviews twice, so let's see how many readers we have on A Single Spark.
So until fifty reviews, JA NE!
NOTE: RATINGS included!
