Chapter 1 a new life

Kagome was anxious. She had worked through Middle school all the way through two years of high school to be an exchange student. She had told her parents hat she anted to go to Japan. Their shocked experssions were amusing. A smile spread across her features. The pilots voice broke through her reverie. "We will be landing in Tokyo shortly. Please fasten your seatbelts." At the head of the cabin a seatbelt sign flashed as all the passigngers raced to do so. The plane shook as the descended through the atmosphere. Her stomach filled with a tingling of butterflies as she thought about her exchange parents. The plane touched down and slid to a stop. Kagome jumoed to her feet and grabbed her bags. Taking a deep breath she exited the plane with the rest of the mob to the terminal.

Mrs. Higurashi was waiting with Sota at the entrance with their truck in a loading zone. Kagome walked out the door.

Immeadietly she was pulled into a choking embrace. Sota helped her put her bags in the truck. Kagome rolled the hem of her mini skirt between to fingers in nervousness. Fifteen minutes later they stopped in front of the shrine steps. Kagomes mouth fell open in shock at the steps.

"Holly Cow!" She squeaked. Sota helped her get her bags up the tower of stairs. Sota showed her her room where she stowed her bags. Sota took her back to the living room. Mrs. Higurashi told Kagome to call her mom to make it easier since she was going to have to remember a lot of names. They ate a dinner of Pizza which Kagome helped make. They were laughing until midnight. Mom showed Kagome were the bathroom was. Giving aother embrace the two women went to their rooms. Kagome brushed her hair and put on her pajamas. Sota walked into the bedroom when he saw Kagome's hair turn silver and youki flood the room. His mouth opened in shock as he saw her do one handed push ups. He slowly backed out of the room. The door shutting which alerted Kagome to a prescense. Shrugging she did some sit ups. Stretching she set her alarm clock turned off the lights and fell into a deep slumber. Her hair turning black once more.

That night she dreamed: The sky was a swirling black. Two figures one red one white were twirled in a death ballet. Glints of swords and waterfalls of silver twirled around the two figures. The one in red dropped as the white seemed to glide closer. Two mahogony stripes glowed below two glowing amber eyes. In the middle of where the forhead would be a purple crescent glowed. A ribbon of light cuts throughthe gloom wrapping around her and cutting off her air supply. The light ribbon pulled her closer to where she could feel its hot breath on her neck.

Kagome sat bolt straight in bed sweat covering her in sheets. Trembling she drew her knees under her chin. Taking deep breaths calming herself. Gradually her heart beat slowed its erratic beating. She looked out the window seeing black. Her eyes turned towards her alarm clock were it read six oclock. She shrugged and got out of bed. She walked to the door and opened it quietly. She peered out in the black hall. The black faded into mixtures of grey. Kagome's eyes widened in suprise at this. Her true features had once again come uncovered. The young demoness stalked down the stairs and into the kitchen. She peered at the micorwave. Two a.m. She cursed, her clock was in the wrong time zone. She felt something tugging at her to step outside. She relunctantly obeyed to her curiosity as it led her out the door and into the courtyard. Her senses spreaded out searching for something her curiosity was telling her to investigate. Her senses pointed in a mind burning arrow to the shrine house. Kagome walked to the door way but was thrown back from the sutras. Growling she jumped up on the roof looking for a weak spot. She started walking across the beam. Her tail whipped behind her helping her keep perfect balance. Suddenly a crack resounded over the area as Kagome fell through the ceiling. She fell down the well in the middle of the building. Blue light surrounded her. The light turned a blood red as it touched her youki. The light dumped her on the bottom of the well. She summoned up her strength to jump out of the well. Fire ripped up her leg from her thigh making her jump fall short. The impact on her chest broke one of her ribs. She hauled herself over the side of the well with a hiss. She landed on her injured side. Pain once more engulfed her upper region. She found hidden strength and drug herself to her knees then stood up on shaking legs. She made her way to a tree that was close by. She collapsed against the trunk and slid down the bark into a sitting position. She succumbed to the darkness.

Kaede got up as soon as the sunlight fell over the mountains. She stretched her tired old bones. Grabbing a basket she left to grab a fresh harvest of herbs. The village priestess walked to the bone eaters well. She saw blood o the side of the well and on the trampled herbs. Kaede followed the blood trail worry etched on her features.
