Prologue:
In days like this, when the sky seamed to despair to the verge of tears, she liked to look out her window and wonder what had befallen her friends. As droplets of water started to fall she closed her windowpane, and then the curtains. She hoped that the feeble fabric would somehow mask the memories from her aching heart.
She had been trying to push her friends away, but they wouldn't budge one bit. They cared too much, to let her have her way, especially Sango. She could still recall what her friend had said the last time she had tried to push her away.
"Listen to me, because I'm not repeating this ever again, if you stop answering my calls, I swear I will go to your nice new apartment and I will tear the door apart, if you don't answer, understood?!" Sango's bewildered voice stated with a hint of both, a promise and a treat.
"But Sango, I –I ..." Kagome stuttered trying to find an answer that would placate her friend's anger.
"No buts, I'm serious, don't try giving me that trash about going to college and being too busy. I couldn't care less. I know you are hiding something, but trust me, you-you were the only one who stood by my side when mom and dad..."Sango's voice all but broke in emotion "you are like my sister so don't you dare try to run from me, I won't let you."
It was like her to force her into accepting her point of view, regardless of excuses. It was amazing how her best friend could read her every move and almost her every thought, it was as if she was crystal clear when she was around her.
Sango's voice sounded hurt when she said, "I thought you knew that you could trust me..."
Kagome didn't let her finish. "Of course I trust you, just give me time and then when I'm read, I'll tell you, ok?"
"Ok, but you ought to tell me soon." Sango said agreeing.
That had been a couple of days ago, still Kagome tried to keep true to her word, but how on earth was she supposed to tell her friend that she was pregnant, and not only that, but with twins of "the hottest, richest bachelor" as most magazines described him, her boyfriend, who just happened to be an actor and a very good one at that.
Now that she thought of it, it had been the magazine's fault in the first place, and Sango's. She had to admit at least to herself that she was also to blame. Sango was the number one fan of Sesshomaru Taisho, according to the magazine he was shooting a new movie and would be in the country for it. The magazine offered an exclusive dinner in the finest restaurant in Tokio, to the girl who happened to answer all the questions regarding his life correctly, then after being checked, the girl's name went into a raffle, and one lucky fan might get a chance at spending 'the night of her dreams in a candle-light room, with romantic music playing in the background...' on an on the article went about all the details that would make the night unforgettable.
Kagome still could not remember all the begging Sango had to do, to get her to put her name on one of the 50 envelopes that Sango was sending the magazine. She wanted to win so badly, but still cared enough to give her best friend a shot, but only one at that incredible experience.
After seeing her friend answer the same questioner like a thousand times, she knew by heart the actor's middle name, deceased thirteen pet, the name of his grandmother and a thousand different things, she couldn't care less about. She was tired of hearing her friend go on and on about the boy's shimmering silver hair, his perfect nose, his elegance... etc. While looking at the picture the magazine portrayed, Kagome could not deny that the guy was indeed handsome.
A tall male, with a black Armani suit and a white dress shit which had the first button undone and a silver tie quite loose hanging around an elegant neck. His hands rested in a bored way in his pant's pockets. The loose white dress shirt showed below the black suit. But still in the colourful picture could not hide a certain golden glint in his eyes, the look he gave was so self-absorbed, snobbish, and disdainful.
If Kagome had not know Sango as well as she did, she would've tried to convince her not to put her name on the envelope. But knowing that even if she tried, her friend would not change her mind she discarded the idea.
After closing all the envelopes, Kagome's tongue felt as if it had licked dirt for hours. Besides Sango's none-stop chatter was getting on her nerves. She decided to leave the room and grab a glass of water to refresh her sore tongue. When she returned to her room, she found Sango sound asleep, with the magazine in her hands, and babbling incoherent things about silver hair.
Weeks had passed and the matter was all but forgotten by Kagome, well, as forgotten as something can be when you are remembered of it by someone close to you every passing second. That day Sango was saying something about the result being delivered that day by a phone call, but Kagome had heard too much to actually care about it. Sango mentioned that the result wouldn't be published in the magazine, because the publisher feared for the safety of the girl who won, because of other fans trying to harm her. Sango was outraged, still she could understand the danger the poor girl would be in.
After hours, upon hours of hearing Sango go on and on about the subject, she all but ran after school was out, her last day in highschool was supposed to be great, not all talk about some snobbish actor, but things just had a way of not following Kagome's desires.
Once she reached home she ate and launched for her room claiming she did not feel too good, and wouldn't see visitors. She omitted the part about Sango being banned from her room, because it sounded too drastic.
Hours latter Kagome could hear a faint bussing, like some mad bee was yelling in her ear... Bsss, Bsss, Bsss,... by the fourth Bss, Kagome realised it was her phone and shot our of bed to reach it. She soon found out this was a call she would never forget.
"mm, He-llo?" yawned
Kagome, "Higurashi Shrine"
"May I speak with Higurashi Kagome?" An elegant, but extremely cheerful voice said.
"Yes, it me, who are you and what can I do for you?" Kagome asked, apprehension building in her tone. She had a feeling this was not good, not good at all.
"Hi, I'm Rin Egao, and I'm Mr. Taisho's representative, I'm calling regarding a contest that you entered, and I'm glad to inform you that you are the lucky winner of a romantic night with Mr. Taisho." The woman said never loosing her cheerful tone.
"Ok, Sango, drop it, there is no way I'm letting you trick me, you know I don't care about that boy or the dinner, so drop it, NOW!!!" Kagome said losing patience. She thought Sango was quite good at imitating other people's voices, for a second there she almost had her.
"Miss Higurashi, let me assure you that I do not know this Sango you are speaking of, but if you are not one bit interested in the dinner, as you claim to be, let me excuse myself for taking too much of your time. Well, I guess, we will have to draw another paper." Rin said, losing at little her cheerfulness, but not completely.
Kagome realised her mistake and all but fainted, SHE HAD WON!!!! Ohhh, what was she to do?, if she told Sango she had won and decided not to accept the price she would never hear the end of this, she could picture her tombstone, with engraved letters in it that read 'To my best friend who 60 years ago refused to have dinner with the hottest guy on earth...' Not to mention she would have to endure her friend's murderous intentions for years to come, she better do something or her friend would talk her to her grave.
"Wait!! I'm sorry Miss Egao, I really am, my mistake, I was just too shocked..."Kagome said, not really meaning any of it, well maybe only the shocked part.
"Yes, don't worry I understand, so Kagome, I may call you that right?" Rin took the silence as a 'yes', and continued "I would like to meet with you to arrange the details of the dinner, place, date, clothing, things like that, so what about if I drop by your house tomorrow afternoon, around 5 pm, alright? Ah, and by the way, may I call you Kagome?"
The startled girl answered a sour "Yes" She could feel her insides twisting in disgust and maybe, just maybe a little bit of emotion.
"Ok then, Kagome, all settled, see you tomorrow and Congratulations!!!!" Rin said, and hanged the phone.
Kagome stared at the dead line for some time wishing that someone would wake her from this nightmare, but to her disappointment, not such thing happened.

Hi everyone!!! Well, I really hate when author's do notes too large, and update too little, so because I wouldn't read a note too long let me just say, I would love to hear your opinion. Regarding Rin's last name here is the meaning, which I took from Jeffrey's J/E Dictionary, it means "Egao" Smiling Face.
