Pain

~PAIN~

Kagome watched as the men came in and took away the bodies of her dead parents. She and a crying baby Souta look upon the blood which lay on the floor. So much blood. So much pain.

Kagome had seen it all, and would remember it for the rest of her life. The man that entered her house had a strange red glow about him and he was floating in mid air. He held open his palm and her mother screamed as her heart was litterally ripped from her chest. Her heart was still pumping as it floated there in front of the man's hand.

Kagome had been shoved into the closet with Souta by her father then, before the man could see her. And she heared him cry out and saw his blood seep in under the door. She held Souta tight and cooed at him so he wouldn't cry. She smiled at him even though she had tears running down her face. That man would pay.

But now, now she would wait to get her revenge. She wasn't stupid. She knew that that man had been a psychic, one of the many psychics that went insane because of human prejudice. She waited with Souta there for about an hour before leaving the closet and was immediatly seen by four teens who were in the room now. None of them looked like the murderer so she willingly let her lead her and Souta away and back to a ship.

They cared for her and Souta, these teens, for the ship ride, and then took them to a school. Kagome soon learned it was a psychic school, a place to work with her wonderful abilities, and help her control new ones. She learned, with Souta, to fly and to fight. To use telepathy and to levitate things.

Souta and herself were always together, she refused to be seperated from her dear little brother. She soon realized that they had both grown so much, ten years later, and she was put in a seperate grouping as her dear Souta. She learned to use their latest Mg-67's. A gun made back in 2034. Before Psychics became such a 'problem' as normal humans said.

Now these guns were specifically for these 'super-humans' who could make the bullet go exactly where they wanted. Souta never learned to use the guns, he, instead, learned to use the psychic whips that Kagome had mastered very early on. He didn't like the weapons, he didn't want to fight, but he and Kagome were training for the good of all man, to teach humans that psychics were human too, right?

Everyweek there was a set schedule and each section, made of four groupings, had a commander to see that this schedule was carried out. Kagome and Souta were in the same section, but not group, so they did see each other often.

Kagome was eighteen now and Souta was ten, and they had their first assignment together. It was the morning of the day that they were suppose to fulfill their assignment when something went wrong...

~~~
Kagome yawned as she pulled on the silken navy blue bodysuit and the skin tight white gloves and boots. Around her waist was a white belt that carried two guns, a whip, and a radio transmitter. So she wouldn't become lost. Then she pulled on the open white trench coat that went to her ankles, and held the back up ammo for her guns. She stretched and moved about to become use to the outfit before she grabbed her ring, which Souta had an exact copy of so that she would be able to contact him, and her necklace, which her mother gave her when she was young.
Kagome paused at the thought of her mother. She scowled and thought of her revenge. She would have her revenge damn it! She would! No one, not even the school would stop her!
Still, even though her memories were stained with blood and hate, she treated everyone as if they were her loved ones. She figured that no one should take her terrible heartache and make it their own. Over the years she had perfected her fake smiles, and her lies. She didn't want her brother to know what had happened to their parents, so she always told him she didn't know. After a few years he had stopped asking, but no one else did. Everyone she knew here, all the students and even some commanders, were orphans.
This place was a good place, she told herself, taking in orphans who have no homes, no one to turn to.
She was about to turn a corner, passing her commander's room when she heard something.
"Do you think we are doing the right thing, Mr Tagawa?" He asked, Mr Marasuwa was always a kind man with a rich voice and tender heart. Kagome turned off her radio transmitter and stood to the side of the door and listened.
"The psychics aren't human, they do not feel as we do Marasuwa! They are pests to kill off just as we killed off the rats and mice in 2046! They are rats whom have come to life again in human bodies, trying to kill us humans off just like we did them!" Tagawa's voice was firm and controling, full of hate.
"Yes, sir. But, using them to research and make anti-psychic weapons?"
"You over step you're position, commander, I am the boss here!"
"Y-yes sir."
Kagome shot off and decided something there and then, that she would leave with Souta. She and Souta would rid themselves of this place and never return. This was an evil place, using psychics like guinea pigs. She would go along with it until the mission. During the mission would be her and Souta's chance.
Shen Lon, Jinko, Misao, Yuuki, Keijo, and Nimia would be joining them. They would be most watched since Souta and Kagome were the top students and would be known to succeed while Jinko and his twin brother Keijo would be sure to stir up some trouble.
Kagome turned her transmitter back on so the commander wouldn't be suspicious. She headed towards the battle simulator and smirked when she found Yuuki, the damned cat demon, there. Ah, this morning would be fun.
~~~~~~~~~

Upon Kagome's enterance into the battle simulator Yuuki smiled, his yellow-green eyes narrowing slightly. His cat-like tail, grey with black stripes, swished to and fro, slapping the backs of his knees.

"Well, well, well if it isn't miss I'm too good for you! Come to let me pleasure you? I wouldn't blame you, you are, after all, the curious type, and your best friend must have told you many times how good I am with my tongue!" Yuuki said, a hand on his hip and the other going through his grey tipped black hair. He was always so sure of himself.

Kagome smirked. "No she told me how Keijo is so much better than you. He is a wolf demon after all, more wild and much bigger than you damned ugly cat demons!" Kagome said, and jumped out of the way when an energy ball was hurled at her.

Yuuki and Kagome threw energy balls one after the other, even going so far as to going at each other physically. Kagome, not even sweating, pulled out an arrow of energy and stood as if holding a bow. She smirked at the cat as his eyes widened and she shot it, hitting him directly sending him down to the floor hard. He cried out in pain.

Kagome snickered and as soon as Yuuki recovered they were at it again. This lasted all morning, they even missed the 6 am breakfast. They left the battle simulator and headed to lunch, scowling the whole way. Kagome had told Yuuki her plan and why, and he agreed to start a fight with the twins. The commanders would be trying to force them to calm while the two escaped.

They ate lunch, Souta sitting beside Kagome scowling. Kagome and Souta used the rings to keep in each other's minds. They knew each other well, but they learned to keep their secrets from each other if wanted. They had to before they used the rings, Kagome insisted, causing Souta to wonder what her secret really was.

Their commander strode in with his head held high and his face seemed angered. Kagome could tell by the redness of his ear he had been on the phone a great long while.

"Our mission today is to find the survivors of a psychic wave accident in Kawlmn( pronounced calm ) City. Its a pretty big city so everyone will split up. Kagome and Souta you two will come with me, there will be three other groups there, from two different sectors! Be on your best behavior and don't screw up! Jinto, Keijo, that means you!" He called out and everyone smirked as the two wolf boys snorted and their tails stuck up and spiked like porcupines.
