Worth my wild

Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha and co. Which includes Kagome and Sesshomaru (even if I wish I did) so don't bug me about it. I do own this plot though which takes place in modern times. I also do not own the song "Away from me" by Evanescence.

Chapter 1: Worth my while

"Now introducing Kagome Higurashi!!" The announcer blared on his microphone on the stage departing.

A young girl of the age of nineteen arrived as her raven hair tossed in the air as her eyes sparkled cinnamon. Her body walked down the stage as she wore a blue plaid skirt and a brown tank top that showed her every curve. She wore some heels as her legs shined by the light.

"Hello everybody...Its me Kagome and here's a song especially to your all!" Kagome grabbed the microphone and closed her eyes and the band behind her played the background music. She then started to sing.

"I hold my breath as this life starts to take its toll

I hide behind a smile as this perfect plan unfolds

But oh, God, I feel I've been lied to

Lost all faith in the things I have achieved

And I"

"Mr. Tashio...that will be on your tab correct?" A bartender asked. "Yes," Sesshomaru Tashio answered looking amused to the singing girl on stage. She seemed to know many ways but was lacking in finesse. One thing Sesshomaru knew.

Sesshomaru Tashio was also the hit manager of many newborn singers. His company was famous for finding new hit singers. Now that Sesshomaru was assigned to find a hit girl band he heard a good singer was singing today at the bar. Why here he had no clue?

Kagome twirled as the crowd whistled as she continued to sing.

"I've woken now to find myself

In the shadows of all I have created

I'm longing to be lost in you

(away from this place I have made)

Won't you take me away from me"

She opened her eyes and looked ahead at the crowd as a certain tall man with long white hair and piercing amber eyes caught her attention. She closed her eyes and sang again with such emotion the bar erupted with clapping.

"Crawling through this world as disease flows through my veins

I look into myself, but my own heart has been changed

I can't go on like this

I loathe all I've become"

Sesshomaru drank his beverage still amused at the girl's singing. 'The girl has talent...maybe she might make it into the big leagues after all...I suppose my company will advance her..' He thought.

"Lost in a dying world I reach for something more

I have grown so weary of this lie I live"

Kagome held the last note as she lowered her voice ending the song as the music stopped. The crowd erupted with huge clapping as people tossed roses at her as she bowed laughing. She had such elegance and grace.

Kagome stepped off the stage as she went to the bar table sitting down next to Sesshomaru. "What will it be Ms. Higurashi? Tequila? Margarita? Or a 'Manhatten on the side'?" The bartender asked.

"Um, no thanks I don't drink...how about just some ice tea, I'm scorched." Kagome smiled. She turned towards Sesshomaru and smiled politely. "Hello, you seem new here." She commented. "I am." He answered coldly.

"Well, I sing here all the time...so its nice to see someone new....I'm..." "I know who you are." Sesshomaru interrupted shortly. He had heard the announcer announce her name after all.

"Oh, I see...who are you then?" Kagome asked slightly annoyed at his interruption. "Sesshomaru Tashio...of the Tokyo hit music company." He answered glancing at his drink.

"Really? That place is a big hit ever since they starred Namie Amuro...she is like my idol." Kagome smiled as her features glistened. She seemed interested.

Sesshomaru noticed that. He knew this girl was worth his while so he had to take her to her limits. Its more profits and power if she starred in a big hit in his corporation after all.

"How old are you miss Kagome Higurashi?" He questioned. "Call me Kagome, and I'm nineteen just this month." She answered.

"Very well Kagome..." Sesshomaru applied staring at her. Kagome chilled when she heard him say her name. It rolled of his tongue in such a way she could never imagine. She never acted this way towards a guy. Even if he was very smooth, and extreme good looking.

"Why do you sing here Kagome?" He asked drinking a sip of his margarita. "Um, I just started singing and this bar has karaoke nights so I started singing here...many people like my singing and I stayed here to practice." Kagome answered.

"I suppose you would like a tryout with my corporation...together we could make extremely big profits along with an acquaintance as such.." Sesshomaru applied.

"Um, that's very kind but I don't think I could go that far....I mean I have to save up with college and I haven't gotten my degree yet." Kagome implied.

"Think about it Kagome...offers like this don't happen so often .With your talents you can easily afford any college you desire." Sesshomaru stood up abruptly and placed his cash on the table. He placed a big tip and walked towards the door.

Kagome was getting second thoughts. 'What could it hurt...he seems pretty decent...and I could use the scholarship' She thought.

"Wait!! I'd like that offer!" Kagome stood up calling.

Sesshomaru stopped and glanced back almost expectantly awaiting her to call him back. "Very well, your appointment will be tomorrow at eleven o' clock on the sharp...dress up nicely." He applied heading back out the door.

"Thanks!" Kagome waved sitting back down.

'Hmm...who knows...this might be just what I need to manage my singing...and I could actually get famous and things would be much easier in my life.." Kagome sipped her drink paying and heading off to get ready for tomorrow.

How wrong was she....her life...was just about to get harder..

~* Black Metalmark's note ~*: Okay that's the end of chapter too. Yeah is Sesshomaru or Kagome seem of character sorry about that. Later on they're get into character but this was the first chapter though. Thanks for reading!

* Namie Amuro- is a hit J-Pop diva extraordinaire, who reached her peak in popularity in the late 90's with hits such as "Chase the chance."
