The Lake of Two Souls by Shikura Harunai

Kagome's Two Souls

"Wow! Look at the huge lake!" exclaimed Kagome. The huge blue lake stretched out like the ocean. Sango and Kagome was visiting the most beautiful lake known to mankind. "I never knew I would be able to visit such an awesome place!" Sango said, while looking at the lake with eyes that seemed to be entranced by such an amazing sight.

"Well, we should be going now, I mean we could visit here any time we want." Sango started to walk away, and Kagome did the same, until she stopped to look at her reflection. When she smiled the reflection returned the smile. Kagome looked at the reflection carefully and saw that the eyes in her reflection was blue not brown. She reached out to touch the reflection when─"Hey, Kagome! Hurry up, or I'll leave you behind!" Kagome quickly stood up straight and ran after Sango, leaving The Lake of Two Souls.

*class bell rings*

"Well, that's the end of class for today, everyone!" exclaimed, Ms. Shitakuro. "Remember to study for the big test tomorrow, I know you will all do your best!" With those words, everyone left the classroom. Kagome yawned, and stretched like a lazy cat. When Sango was leaving, Kagome caught up with her and asked, "Do you mind going to that huge lake with me?"

Sango seemed to think about the request for a moment, then said, "I don't see why we shouldn't go. But could you give me a reason why we should go back there?" Kagome thought about it, and finally spoke when she chose the best words to say. "I think I saw something.. different there." Kagome said as she closed her eyes. "Well, what are we waiting for? Let's head out!"

***********************************

"Huh? Ok, I'll be right there." said Sango as she hung up on her phone. "Sorry Kagome. I have to go. My mom says that I have to help her with something. See ya tomorrow at school!" Kagome looked at her friend and waved a good bye to her. She then looked at her reflection in the huge lake. Her eyes, it was blue. Her reflection looked so sad, as if it was torn apart from somebody, it had.

Kagome reached out to touch the reflection. When she touched the water, the reflection seemed to come inside her.
