Revenge by Iridescent

Planning

That was it. Inuyasha had ran away to Kikyou for the last time. Kagome watched him run off to her, watched him hold her. And she cried. Cried for the last time. She tasted her tears of heartbreak for the last time. And she swore revenge. *** DAMNIT, MIROKU! Kagome watched in awe as Sango pounded Miroku into the ground. Miroku had been spying on them taking a bath again, and Sango had finally had it. Kagome guessed that everyone was getting revenge this week. She giggled at her own crazy thoughts. She herself had came up with a way to have her revenge, She wasn't she it would work, but she figured what the hell? She'd never know until she tried. She had came up with her crazy plan on her birthday, the day Inuyasha was suppose to be with her. After all, it was her day...not Kikyou's. But Inuyasha must've thought it different. Her own anger and pain had led her to revenge....her pity for Kikyou turning into envy. She realized this is just how Kikyou wanted her to feel. Kikyou had confronted her, telling her that Inuyasha was hers. And Kagome had snapped. Enough was enough. Her heart had been broken too many times, and she was angry. What did Kikyou have that she didn't? Inuyasha. Beauty. Power. She could answer that question herself. But...Kagome thought she looked decent enough.. and she had power...not lots, but a decent amount..and...love isn't supposed to be based on power or looks, right? She sighed. Who was she kidding. No one would ever have her, and her plan for revenge would fail. But..then again, was she really trying to get revenge, or win Inuyasha back? Either way, if she could just make herself seem powerful enough..and beautiful enough...she was sure it would work. The only problem is, would Sesshoumaru have a ningen? That was her plan. She would make Inuyasha jealous by getting with his brother. She hoped he would feel....how she had felt when he kissed and embraced Kikyou. She wanted him to see what it was like. And maybe, just maybe...he would kiss her...and hold her...instead of Kikyou. If she could prove she was good enough for the great Lord Sesshoumaru, then he was sure to want her instead of Kikyou. But...in her mind..( and she was sure in Sesshoumaru's mind as well ) she wasn't good enough. In her mind, no one would ever have her. And she despised herself for what she was, who she was. A voice sobbed within her: "Look at you, look at what you've become, you're uncharitable and peevish, people dislike you because you won't listen to the advice given you by your own better half." How she would love to listen. But it doesn't work. No one knew the better Kagome, no one knew how she was on the inside. On the outside she could she was cheerful, she was an amusement of some sort. She's light-hearted and strong. But the deeper Kagome, the one no one ever saw, was far too frail. Kagome tried to make everything a joke, turn it into something she could laugh about. Smile about. But the Kagome within was so much better, deeper, purer. She tries to hide the indifferent, know-it-all she is on the outside. She tries to show who she really is, the quiet, pure Kagome. But she's afraid to show it, if she acts serious and quiet, everyone would think its some joke, a comedy not to be taken seriously. Then she'll be in a bad mood, and get snappy, then sad, then she'll turn and twist her heart until the good is on the inside and the bad is on the outside. She never really shows her real feelings. No one knows that side of her. But if she did, they'd laugh, not take her seriously, think her sentimental and ridiculous. Kagome knows who she is, how she is on the inside. BUt that side of her never shows except when she's alone. She knows how she wants to be..how she could be..if..there were no other people living in the world. That's why..she needed someone. She loved Inuyasha, but she was sure she could get over him. But she needed him, she needed someone by her side, someone who would accept her. Even if she wasn't who she so wanted to be. She always thought if she could find that one special person, he could free her better side. And when she was with Inuyasha...well, that's when she felt like she could actually be herself. When she was with Inuyasha...the good Kagome surfaced. Of course, it would disappear as soon as it appeared. But nevertheless, it was there, even if it was only there for a moment. And she was positive that if she could get Kikyou out of the way of their relationship, the pure Kagome would take over. That's why, even though it did pain her to do this, she had to find a way to make Sesshoumaru fall for her. Or at least, pretend to. Maybe she could bargain with him...she could always tell him that if he did this one thing for her then she could give him the Tetsusaiga. But then again, he was so arrogant, he would probably think he could get it on his own if he wanted it bad enough. Why should he help a ningen? Or worse, why should he agree to let a ningen help him? It would damage his pride.

Then a thought struck Kagome: She knew a little ningen girl followed Sesshoumaru around. Kagome knew she must be at least a small bit of trouble, being a ningen and all. If Kagome agreed to look after her and care for her, would Sesshoumaru agree to help her? There was only one way to find out. Tomorrow, Kagome was going to find Sesshoumaru. Tomorrow, everything would change.
