This fic is done to the song Hello by Evanescence. However don't start song until I say. This is the first fic that I've posted but not written, sadly my first one sucked. Please Review. You have no right to flame unless you have written a fic. Please tell me what I did wrong so I can fix it. And if you don't like the parings find a chat room and complain there.

The laughing girl happily swung on the swing being pushed by a man around the same age as her. He smiled softly at her, though his attempt to give her a heartfelt smile failed. Who could be happy when the person they loved was dying. He couldn't help but be surprised when she turned her head to him and smiled, completely happy, at him. How could someone who new that death was immanent be so happy?

Higarashi Kagome had been diagnosed with cancer six months ago and only had a few days, if that, left. She had asked to leave the hospital, saying it was depressing, even though her time was shortened by the decision. And so he had taken her away. With no family to take care of her she stayed with him always. He rarely went to work anymore, opting instead to spend peaceful times like now with her.

"I love this sesshou-kun ." Kagome said quietly. " Its so wonderful."

"Hn." He murmured in reply.

"I wish I could stay like this forever." She continued.

"Tell me," he asked, "How is it that you stay so happy."

" Don't know, I just do."

"hn." He replied again, slowing the swing down and finally grasping the chains and staring with her into the sunset.

"I miss them." She whispered. He knew who she was talking about. Her entire family, mother, brother, and grandfather, had died on their way to the hospital. When she heard she immediately locked herself in her room, a futile attempt to lock it all out. They had called him after many failed attempts to help her.

"One always does." Was his soft reply.

"Does it have to be so painful." She asked.

He sighed. "I do not know."

"But I suppose it won't last much longer."

"Hn."

"You always were good at sentimental conversation." She said sarcastically.

"Hn. Aren't I." Was his equally sarcastic reply.

"Sure you are. When you have a sentimental conversation without saying 'hn' people will inhabit Mars." She laughed back.

"I believe they are trying to do that." He said.

"Really?" she asked

They sat in comfortable silence for awhile, admiring the beauty before them.

"It looks like it's going to rain." He stated.

"Really?" was her only reply.

"We should be going." He stated.

"Why?" she asked.

"We could get wet." Was his answer.

"So." She replied.

"You are a strange girl." He stated with laughter in his eyes.

"Hmph, am I?" She asked, indignantly.

"Come here." He said picking her up and settling her in his lap. He leaned against a bench. The dark, rain-filled clouds were above them now.

(A/N Start song) They sat in silence enjoying each other's company and warmth. He looked down at her when her breath hitched and became labored.

"Kagome?" Sesshoumaru questioned as rain began to fall. "Are you ok?"

Kagome groaned in pain and fisted her hands tightly.

"Kagome, tell me what's wrong." He commanded.

"It... hurts." She groaned out. He immediately pulled out his cell phone and called for an ambulance.

"Hello please state your name, problem and where you are now." The operator asked.

"My name is Okaida Sesshoumaru a girl named Higarashi Kagome is having some sort of an attack. She suffers from an unknown cancer. We are in a park on the corner of Hashem and Lidia. Please hurry!" Sesshoumaru pleaded.

"An ambulance is on its way." The operator replied.

"Thank you." He said and hung up "Hold on, Kagome, help is coming." He said in a dispirit voice. He looked into her eyes, usually filled with the fire that is life, now clouded over with pain and tears. Her eyes pleaded with him to do something to help her, to take away the pain. For the second time in his life, Okaida Sesshoumaru, son of the president and the vice president of Okaida industries, felt helpless.

It was new, the last time having been when he was but a child, and most definitely not welcome. He especially didn't need that feeling now.

He watched as the last of her life drained from her eyes and the paramedics shocking her with the defibrillator, trying to bring her back. He sat, stunned, drenched, and empty. She's gone that thought along with many others crammed into his head. Why? Why him? Why her? Why now? Why ever? Why live?

Why live? If it was just going to be taken away, why live? Should he find out? Kill himself on the spot just to find out the answer to a question? No, that would not do. Kill himself to see her? Would that be what she would want? What would she want?

He looked up. One of the ignorant creatures of this world was asking him if he wanted to go with her. He got up and stepped into the back of the ambulance.

What would she want? He pondered this. His feelings aside, she would have wanted him to live. But that was not so simple. How could he live without her?

He thought of what his life had been like before she had come into it. He could have laughed. Could have, but couldn't now He wondered how he could have lived. He had no one. He had opted to stay in an apartment in Tokyo instead of with his family. His father was always consumed in his work and InuYasha only came by to tell him the really important stuff. But there was Rin. No, Rin had been short lived; literally. Shortly after he found her she had been kidnapped and killed. It hurt then too. But not this much. No. The only thought on his mind then was vengeance, and he got it. Perhaps he should seek vengeance for Kagome's death. Could one kill a god? Maybe he should try. No. That would mean dying. He already knew he couldn't do that. He'd silently promised Kagome he'd live, it was her unspoken request. He looked up from his face at the sound of screeching. Were the gods punishing him more or were they giving him his sweet release. Apparently the latter.

The car had slid on the slick road and crashed. Sesshoumaru wasn't horribly wounded Just enough to put him in a coma for a few days. But why would he want to live? He had found his escape. So many burdens, so much grief, all bestowed upon one man. Who would have the will to live?

He would get to see her. That beautiful smile so full of happiness and her eyes full of the fire of life rekindled there. He could see her now, standing in front of him in all her glory. He said the only thing he could:

"Hello"
