Leaving Behind the Days

The Beginning

She glared at him with her steely blue eyes, pushing away the silver haired male away whenever he neared her.

"Stay away from me!" she screamed her raven hair flying as she stood before him.

A wind swept threw the field as the two stood facing each other. A raven haired beauty and a sliver haired demon. He neared her again, only to suffer the fate of her hand connecting his face. "Stay away from me!" She gritted out again.

He stopped his advances and touched his red tinged check. 'She hit me?' he asked himself, bewildered.

He moved swiftly and grabbed her wrists, "Do not touch me," she only looked down.

He took this as an act of submission, and he lessened his grip on her arms.

Her eyes were closed, and her mind flowed with raw power that he could not sense, she drew at that power, letting it flow threw her, burning him.

Yelping, he let go of her arms, and rubbed his hands. Burn marks graced is hands. She had attempted to purify him? No, it was a warning, and his senses were screaming for him to run for it.

Instead, he, being the brash person he was, lunged at her lithe form. She only smirked, and only when he collided with a barrier did he realize that she had expected that.

"You just couldn't let it be, could you Inuyasha?" she spat his name, as if it were poison.

"Well, get you're precious Kikyou to detect the Shikon shards, because," she said, "I won't and you need someone you love, as you so happily pointed out to me multiple times."

His face contorted in a painful sigh, as if he were confused, "I love...." He trailed off, as if trying to figure out the truth.

Kagome's face softened considerably, "Inuyasha, when you think of love, who comes to mind?"

"Kikyou." He whispered softly.

"Yeah," she said, smiling gently, "I want to think of that special person when love comes to mind."

"But-"

"Inuyasha, I need someone who loves me, for who I am, not who my incarnation is."

"It hurts so badly though," he said, lowering his head.

"It hurts me to, it's so painful, but this is what I want,"

"Why can't you discover it with me?" he asked, glancing at her.

"Inuyasha, please just let me do this." She said, pleadingly.

He nodded in understanding. "You will always have a place in my heart Kagome."

Turning around, she gripped her bows tightly to her, and with her last words, she walked away to her own destiny, "I love you Inuyasha."

It flowed to him in the wind, barley letting him catch it. It made his heart ache for her, with a burning that made him want her like he had never done before.
