The Binding Of Lonely Hearts by AngelAnita

Chapter 1

The Binding Of Lonely Hearts

By: AngelAnita

Quick Summary:

This story is a new, fresh idea I had. I've changed certain things, such as making Kagome, Sango, and Rin all the same age in the "modern" world. It's a regular high school to learn normal courses, such as gr.9 to 12 English, gr.9 to 12 Math, Sciences, etc.

Kagome, Sango, and Rin are all Goths in their last year of high school, and seem misplaced among all the "perfect" and "idealistic" girls of the modern times. Mean, completely cold hearted, and emotionless is their outlook, but will that change when they meet "them"?

The three girls, hating boys and "girly-girls", are beaten in their own games.

A certain special demon and a few exceptional others, however, have different "plans" for the girls, and for themselves, such as saving the past, and showing them the kind of love they've never had.

Who, what, why, and anything else, I'll leave for you to ponder.

I hope you enjoy what I have to offer.

Disclaimer: I do not own Inu Yasha, or any of the characters from Inu Yasha. Although, having Sesshomaru for a little while wouldn't harm me.

Quick Author's Note:

I AM VERY AWARE that the original plot and storyline of Inu Yasha has been greatly changed in this chapter, and in many chapters to come. I have made things this way purposely. If you don't like it, then don't read it.

PLEASE NOTE!!!!

SENTENCES IN MINI QUOTES 'ahhh he's beautiful...' (that was an example) ARE WHAT THE CHARACTER IS THINKING, and is NOT said out loud!

Thank you!

Please enjoy the chapter!

Chapter 1

Kagome walked into the school with Rin and Sango by her side. People were staring at them, but it had become a normal part of life after only so long. It didn't matter where they went; they were always stared at for their black eye make up and "unusual" choices of clothing. The hardcore rock and alternative music such as Slipknot, Korn, and Linkin Park that was blasting from their cd walkman's headphones always seemed to attract attention, too.

Their faces held no emotions, making them look cold and pale. Their eyes were so devoid of feeling; they looked dark. In fact, they looked so dark that if one stared long enough in them, they could drown in their depths.

The girls' "fashion sense" was anything but pretty.

Kagome always wore black or dark blue baggy pants, whether they be jeans or otherwise, and baggy black concert t-shirts with their favourite artists' names on them. Black skater shoes were a necessity. (A/N: Skater shoes are shoes that are wider in width than normal shoes.)

Kagome always had a chain or two linked on her pants, and kept her hair down in a messy look, mostly because she didn't bother brushing it everyday. It was too long to deal with, and what for? To impress who? It wasn't like she gave a damn. Her hair's natural hair colour was a darkish brown, but she dyed it black to "match" her look. Besides, she'd never liked her brown hair anyway.

Rin and Sango's look was similar, but somewhat more subdued. Their look wasn't limited only to black and dark dark blue, like Kagome's. They could tolerate forest greens, and occasionally dark browns. Some white articles had come into their possession over time, but it was extremely rare that they would wear them.

One of the many strong things they had in common was none of them could handle tight clothes, or the colour pink.

It was disgusting when they walked up stairs in school seeing the girls' thongs coming out of their jeans right in front of them. The worst being when their asses were pushing against the seams of the pants so tightly that the pants looked as if they would rip at any second. Kagome always secretly wished that their pants would tear right down the middle and the females would undergo extreme embarrassment.

Pink was completely out of the question. It was girly, too flashy, and looked so...gross. Every time they saw the girls in the full pink sweat suits or track suits it made Kagome, Sango, and Rin gag. It always looked so fucking horrible. The worst part being, the guys actually liked these clothes on the girls. The guys must be retards too, the girls agreed.

Kagome stopped and looked at the clock above the office. Because of her mind wandering, they would be fifteen minutes late. Kagome looked at the girls and the three of them shrugged. Who really cared that they were late? The teachers were too afraid of them to do anything about it, the principal included.

Continuing their stroll, they found their classroom and walked in, unheeding of the teacher currently reading something out of a "Grade 12 Advanced Math" textbook.

Kagome was much more interested in reading the ancient books in her home about improving miko powers than math books. The miko books were around six hundred years old, and they had stayed untouched in the house from generation to generation.

Although it was a legend everywhere else, Kagome knew she was a miko. Sometimes, when she fully focused on her inner strength, she was able to make small flares of energy and shoot them out at a target. Reading these books, she knew that one day, she would be able to fully control and use her powers whenever she pleased.

With that thought in mind, she started reading the miko texts. They were all at least five hundred pages long, and in total there were around ten texts. The books taught different methods to properly and safely use miko powers. She had to be extremely careful when reading, because the books were beyond fragile.

Hearing the teacher droning and interrupting her thoughts, Kagome mentally sighed and zoned out again.

'We're only here in stupid high school for you, mom...because this is what you wanted for us.'

Kagome smirked at that thought, the closest thing she ever did to a smile since the accident. She stared across the room at one of the girls that was studying her math book.

The girl could feel Kagome's staring, and looked up. Kagome made her eyes look even colder, if possible, and fear radiated off the girl.

The fear in the air was so strong Kagome could smell it.

The girl, who was probably only around fourteen, asked to be excused out of the class. She ended up running out of the classroom as if it were on fire. She was mortified.

The three girls looked at each other in acknowledgement and continued their antics to annoy people. Rin began to tear a paper slowly into shreds, and when there was nothing left of the paper, she started on a new piece, making minor noise, but it annoyed some nonetheless.

Sango loudly and quickly tapped her pencil on the wooden desk, making people raise their heads to see where the source of noise was coming from. The teacher looked up, but decided not to say anything. When she had gotten tired of doing that, she began to draw random words and scribbles with the pencil on the desk. At least it took up time, and gave her something to do.

Kagome, bored because the girl she was "torturing" had run out of the room, began to poke the boy sitting in front of her to annoy him. She didn't pause until he turned around and asked her to stop.

"What you gonna do about if if I don't, kid? Gonna tell the poor little old teacher on me?" she whispered slowly, with malice so that only he could hear. She continued to poke him.

"N-n-no-th-i-ng..." he said stuttering hesitantly, his body shaking a little as he did so.

"Good," Kagome whispered back.

Satisfied in knowing she had scared him too, she stopped her "physical abuse" and lay back in her chair.
