Sesshoumaru, The Emotionless, Feels Affection by Shikura Harunai

The Truth and InuYasha's Death

Kagome was furious. She couldn't believe that InuYasha still had feelings for that wench. She just couldn't stand him any longer. She stood up from where she was, and walked to the Great Lake of Sadness and stared out at it.

Later, InuYasha found her and sat down next to her with a heavy sigh. Kagome knew it was InuYasha and she ignored him. He asked softly, "Why are you doing this to me, Kagome?" Kagome, getting pretty mad about this thing, replied calmly, "Funny, I'm the one who is supposed to be asking that question." Then Kagome looked into InuYasha's eyes. And for the first time, InuYasha looked directly into hers. In her eyes he saw extreme fury and sadness that told him that she could never forgive him ever again. With another sigh, InuYasha left her.

She felt a lot more relieved since she couldn't be comfortable with InuYasha any longer. She wept thinking about how lonely and alone she would be without InuYasha. Little did she know that two golden eyes were watching her from a tree. She stared out into the Great Lake of Sadness. Then she cried until she fell asleep.

The next day, she couldn't keep her fury and sadness kept up all in her heart, so she went to InuYasha and said, "Since you're back with that wench, I supposed that you wouldn't want to be disturbed. So I'll... leave." InuYasha never imagined Kagome saying such a thing to Kikyo, so he shouted, "Fine! It's not like I care! Just go find yourself someone else!" I will, thought Kagome, as soon as I start my search.

InuYasha had done this kind of thing before, but he regretted this time the most. He made Kagome leave. He couldn't do anything else but stare at Kagome leaving.

Kagome took a deep breath before stepping into the quiet darkness, and she also whispered, "Good-bye, forever, InuYasha." And walked into the forest. While she was walking, she felt something dashing behind her very quickly. What was that? she asked herself. Oh well. It's probably nothing, and kept walking.

She's been walking for a while now, about 4 miles. She decided to take a little rest. How big was this forest? She sighed, and thought about who her new companions would be. Lost in her deep thought, she fell asleep. But someone has been watching her. This person had golden eyes. So, my little brother betrayed this girl? thought he, well, he's going to pay for it. He gracefully landed on the ground quietly and took Kagome into his arms and ran off to his campsite.

She should wake up soon, thought he. About 20 or 30 minutes later, Kagome found herself in front of a fire, and saw someone she didn't know very well. She sleepily opened her eyes and asked, "Sesshoumaru?" Sesshoumaru replied, "You're awake, Kagome?" She nodded. "But you should go back to sleep," said Sesshoumaru. She nodded once more and fell asleep. Sesshoumaru couldn't help but to stroke her hair. When he knew that she was completely asleep, he felt a stinging pain on his side. The pain was so strong that Kagome woke up again, and asked, "Is something wrong?" Then Sesshoumaru replied, "Nothing is wrong. Just go back to sleep."

Then Sesshoumaru stroke her hair until she fell asleep again, and placed her head on the ground. Something happened to that hanyou, thought Sesshoumaru, but what? He ran through the forest very swiftly.

When he got there he picked up scent of his hanyou brother. Ugh, thought Sesshoumaru, this place reeks with the scent of my brother's blood! Then he spotted his brother's body, dead. Naraku must have done this, he thought, I shall now seek vengeance for my brother, Naraku. He decided that Naraku took the form of Kikyo, making it look like "Kikyo" killed him.

He ran back to his campsite. He there saw Kagome, aware that something happened to InuYasha. Now, Kagome just didn't care. She wanted to know what happened so she looked deep in his eyes, and asked Sesshoumaru, "What really happened back there, Sesshoumaru?" At first he decided not to answer, but her pleading eyes melted into his, so he couldn't resist. He told everything about what happened, as Kagome just looked into his eyes.

When he was done explaining, he was sort of surprised to see that she wasn't crying.. yet. By the time Sesshoumaru was looking at her, she looked into his eyes once more and asked in disbelief, "Is that what really happened?" He nodded at her question, and Kagome started to cry quietly in his shoulders. He wrapped his arm around her shoulder and said, "It's ok. I'm here.. with you." Then she nodded and cried herself to sleep.
