Chapter One

Chance didn't seem to be in his favor that day. Nothing had seemed to go right. Instead everything was tending to go wrong. At that moment Sesshoumaru would have traded his life for a break from the chaotic word around him. He had thought that he would get a break, but when he stepped out of the woods he knew that fate must have been sick today. Yes fate must be sick, or out on maternity leave. That was the only plausible excuse he could come up with.

He knew that things were definently not in his favor when he heard the dreadful sound of his half-brother, Inuyasha's, voice.

"So I was wondering if-" Buy Inuyasha was cut off when he saw the towering figure in front of him. Kagome and Cassious, a transportation demon, stopped in their tracks at Inuyasha's silence.

Nope, thigs were definently not going well for Sesshomaru.

"Well, well. What are you doing out here, Inuyasha?" Sesshoumaru's voice was smug and a small smirk played on him lips.

That had Inuyasha's chin rising. "Looking for the Shikon jewel shars. Why do you care?"

"Dear brother. Why wouldn't I?" Sesshomaru questioned.

"You never have before."

"Your right." Sesshoumaru admitted." I didn't then and I don't now." His deep, rumbling laughter belted out into the night.

Inuyasha trembled with rage.

Kagome watched both of them warily.

Cassious, well, Cassious was just plain scared.

It was obvious that the events that followed were unpreventable. Inuyasha launched at Sesshomaru. They fought in a whirl of color. Cassious and Kagome were on the sidelines watching. In a split second both had made a decision. Cassious gathered his power and began to chant silently in his head. There was only one thing to do. Send Sesshoumaru away.

The second that Cassious released the blast of energy, Kagome hurled herself at Sesshoumaru. The burst of green energy caught Sesshoumaru and Kagome in it's path. In the next instant, they were gone...
