::::Kagome::::

I stared at the bloody battlefield in awe, in happiness, in completion. In triumph. Oddly enough, it was Miroku who had dealt the finishing blow. Sango had used Hiraikotsu to hit Naraku at me, letting me, and surprisingly Kikyo, hit him with sacred arrows, making him stumble back so Sesshomaru could blast Naraku at Inuyasha, who used Bakryuuha, before Miroku had sucked him up inside the Wind Tunnel. It had seemed so quick, so fast. We had come on to Naraku strongly, and he didn't have time. But in reality, we had battled for hours on end. I walked slowly towards the middle of the field. There sparkled the tainted Shikon Jewel. I hesitantly picked it up. It flashed with a brilliant pink light. And there it sat innocently in my palm, pulsing gently in time with my heartbeat. I felt power come towards me and I held out my hand in shock. Miko energy burst forth, shielding me from Kikyo's arrow.

" The Shikon belongs to me, reincarnate," Kikyo said stoically. Sesshomaru raised his brow, but deemed the problem not worthy of his attention and left.

" My ties to the Shikon Jewel and Naraku have been severed. It is no longer my problem," He said.

" Please Kikyo. If you just return the after life, you still have a chance for redemption. Your time is over, I'll guard the Shikon for you. I promise," I pleaded. Kikyo shook her head and raised her bow.

" No. It is you who needs to go to the after life," the undead miko fired. I dodged with grace and raised my bow like a baseball bat.

" I'm sorry Kikyo-san," Kikyo's eyes widened, and her eyes filled with tears of regret and sorrow as I swung the bow. A wave of power crashed towards the priestess and Kikyo met death for a second time. My head was bowed. Miroku stepped beside me, his hands set in a prayer position.

" May Kikyo-sama rest in peace," he said, his violet blue eyes shut. Inuyasha sighed.

" Don't worry about it Kagome. It had to be done," the hanyou stated. Sango nodded in agreement. Shippo hopped on my arm. I raised my head and looked at my companions.

" C'mon guys, lets go home," I said brightly.

::::Dawn::::

We finally reached Edo and stumbled into Kaede's hut wearily. The adrenaline had worn off, and were tired. I plopped down and the others collapsed around the fire. Kaede smiled, heer aged face wreathed in happiness.

" Ye defeated Naraku," she stated. Miroku unwrapped his air void. It was gone, only leaving a long, thing scar horizontally across his palm.

" Yes Kaede-sama. I would say he is gone," Miroku replied. We all grinned happily.

" Ye all should get some rest. Ye will need it for thy festivals," Kaede said. The group looked at each other. I was the first one sleeping.

::::One Week Later::::

The festivals were finally over, and everyone was happy. Now, no one knew what to do.

" I need to rebuild my village," Sango said.

" The roads are calling to me, as well as Mushin is getting old," Miroku sadly said.

" I need to find my fox clan," Shippo clung to me.

" I live in another time," I looked around, tears in my eyes.

" I need to keep protecting my territory," Inuyasha's ears pinned themselves to his head. It looked like the end of the strange group of misfits. Kaede looked at us all.

" Aye, it is true, that ye all now have separate goals in life now, but ultimately, all ye goals are the same. Perhaps ye should all meet here once a month, to stay together, ne?" Kaede suggested. I smiled weakly.

" I think Kaede-chan is right," I said. " But I need to check up on my family. Then I'll come back, we'll spend one more week together before..." I trailed off. Everyone nodded.

" So, who wants to come with me to the well," Miroku stood.

" Why, I would be glad to spend some time alone with you Kagome-sama," Miroku grinned pervertedly. Sango and Inuyasha stood.

" Hell no bouzo!"

" Houshi-sama, you are not going anywhere alone with Kagome-chan," Sango growled. Shippo jumped on my shoulder. Kirara mewed at her mistress. I grinned. 'Some things never change' We set off towards the well, arguing the who way. I laughed, and I suddenly appreciated all the things I had. We stopped at the well. I looked around at my friends, then back at the well. I took in a deep breath.

" Be back in three days guys!" I waved. I grabbed the rim and leapt in. I didn't feel the familiar grasp of the magic, suspending me in the air. I screamed in pain and fright. Inuyasha looked over, concern shining in his eyes.

" Kagome?!" The half demon jumped down. My tear filled eyes looked up at him.

" I-I c-c-ca-can't g-g-get th-thr-through," I stuttered, the dam breaking. Inuyasha bent down and picked me up, before leaping back up. I clutched his haori and sobbed for all I was worth.

" Kagome-sama?" Miroku looked at me in worry. I sniffled.

" C'mon, let's get back to Kaede's" Inuyasha murmured. Sango nodded. The group took me back to the village.

::::Three months later::::

I sighed and looked at the area. It was large and grassy. And there was a forest nearby. I had chosen the perfect place, and the large inn looked homey in the field.

" And now for the finishing touches," I muttered. I took out a sign and hammered it to the ground. Higurashi Inn it read. A place of rest for everyone. I smiled at my handiwork. Of course, I had help. Along the way, I had met up with some young boys around my age, along with girls and small children. I had told them of my dream and they offered their help for a place to stay. I immediately agreed.

" We did great you guys," I smiled at the minors. I was dressed as a priestess, and a small reputation had grown about the priestess that helped all.

" Well, the orphanage is in the back, the inn is in the front, along with the bar installed inside, plus a small shed with our tools in it, correct?" I asked. " Oh, and the dojo next to the inn." The boys nodded. I hugged them.

" Thank you so much. Now, let's go check out our work," I stated.
