The Beginning

He stood tall behind the glass window of his office. The only thing that separated him from his vast empire, as he liked to call everything that surrounded him. A country's economy was not only based in the business of its people, but from the strategically use of power by the hierarchy, which in this case was him.

He liked his office; its location on the 34th floor, the altitude, the glass panels and the luxurious decoration were just another exposition of his persona; HE had built it inspired on his ego and his position in society. In it he felt atop of the world. He was just like a God, observing the pathetic mortals and their meek problems as something underneath him. He was, after all, untouchable.

"WOMAN GET OUT OF THE WAY OR I'LL CALL THE COPS!"

"FORGET IT, BASTARD, IM NOT GOING TO STAND BY AND OBSERVE HOW YOU DESTROY OUR CITY'S HISTORY for a MAN´S SELFISH NEED!"

"I'm standing here in front of the former CTI where a brave young lady stands between a demolition company and a classy architectonic construction in the middle of downtown. The terrain that has been bought by the Taisho corporation; the multinational investment company who paid an exuberant amount of price for the terrain in which this edifice stands is part of the area destined for the construction of the highway that's going to connect west and east(...)"

"Damn, the media is here!"

*RIING*

"Inuyasha here."a handsome man with dog ears atop of his head said as he answered his ringing cell phone.

"Little brother, I see you are on T.V. Why do you have to go around destroying the company's image? You're late for our meeting, so stop fooling around and come here immediately. Miroku should already be there. He is going to take care of the problem."

"Sesshomaru, I can take care of this problem.....dammit. The bastard hung up!"

Sighing he directed his attention to the problem at hand...a young woman hugging an edifice.

"LISTEN WENCH. I HAVE MORE IMPORTANT MATTERS TO ATTEND TO RATHER THAN TO STAND BY AND SEE YOU ACT FOOLISHLY, SO PLEASE GET OUT OF THE WAY, OR I WONT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR INCONSEQUENTIAL DEATH!" Inuyasha yelled while walking towards the demolition truck. "NOW GET OUT OF THE WAY, OR ILL DRIVE RIGHT THROUGH YOU!"

"FINE WITH ME!" a woman with long black hair and piercing blue eyes responded as she extended her hands in a possessive manner around the building.

"Inuyasha, what have I told you about handling the ladies?" a low, and seductive voice interrupted the whole ordeal. "She's ALL yours, Miroku. Just get her out of the way so I can go back to my office. We are already late for the reunion, and I don't want icicle man scolding me about how a wench got in my way!" Inuyasha scowled.

"Mrs. Higurashi I presume?"

"Ye..yes???"

"hi, I'm Miroku Monikuwa Legal representative of the Taisho corporation. I have heard so much about you..."

"Thank gods someone civil appeared!" She said, glaring at the man identified as Inuyasha who just feh´d .

"Mr. Monikuwa, I presume you are aware that the demolition of this building violates the 1993 convention of historical patrimony, plus various articles of civil law??"

"Yes, Mrs. Higurashi, however, if you come with me we can discuss how the Taisho corporation has managed to obtain permission for the tribunal of..."

*BAAAMMM*

The sound of bricks breaking stopped everyone in their tracks.

"....No....you destroyed it....!" Higurashi said, as she fell to her knees.

"Oi, Miroku, we are late, lets go!" Inuyasha said, as he climbed on his jaguar.

"Mrs. Higurashi, I'm sorry if this building had any emotional significance to you, but what's done had to be done. Taisho international is very interested in adjoining your outstanding law abilities to its board of legal representatives if you're interested Here is my presentation card with my office number. You can call me and I can arrange everything. Until then, I'm honored to have had the pleasure of meeting such an enchanting lawyer." he said as he took her hand and gently kissed it. "I would have wished to prolong our encounter but I have a meeting to attend to.."

"So you dragged our asses from all the way across town just to make us complete your unresolved business??"

"language, dear brother"

"Up yours, Sesshomaru!! Geez, I got work to do! Remember that father left me in charge of the forest subdivision of TC.. Feh, he should have trusted me more and entrusted me Taisho Corp. instead of such an inefficient bastard!"

"Inuyasha, I'm not tolerating any more insult on your part...."

"Then get a fucking assistant, Sesshomaru!! Let her do the job that's too "Undemanding" for you to handle, and stop being such an ass!" Inuyasha said, as he left the room slamming the door of his brothers office.

"Perhaps he is right, Sesshomaru. You should get yourself an assistant. I can offer you some beautiful specimens to adorn your office.."

"Perhaps, but forget it, Miroku. I'm not paying some stupid wench just to sit around. I'm looking for a QUALIFIED assistant not one of your dolls."

Higurashi, Kagome dragged herself home with the weight of the world on top of her shoulders. The weight of having lost...again to the most despicable unethical and unorthodox company in the world, Taisho International.

For the last two years since she graduated from law school she had been fighting for the rights of those who had the misfortune of standing in the interest line of the multinational company, and after all of the encounters, trials, and strikes she returned home, alone and with a heavy heart... "Well, at least I didn't have to bail myself out of jail this time." she thought sarcastically, as she picked up the phone and started her nightly routine.

"Yes, Mr. Chow, it's Kagome... Can you send me a number 5 and hmm...how about 2 number 1s? No, no, no. Make that three number 1s and two number threes...Yes, that's all. Yes its all for me, thank you"

She waited as her order of Chinese food came, scheming. What would her next step in the case Higurashi against Taisho corp. be...?

"Well, I've encountered the vice president, the legal representative, the board of representatives to no avail... " she thought aloud while picking up her chopsticks and grabbing a nearby magazine, her face immediately lighting up. "Well, Mr. most wanted bachelor, Sesshoumaru Taisho, CEO of Taisho corp. I guess the time to cross our paths has come..."
