CONCRETE ANGEL

Hey this is sad but kind a happy please enjoy. Don't hate! read till end.

She walks to school with a lunch she packed

Nobody knows what she's holding back;

Wearing the same dress she wore yesterday,

She hides the bruises with the linen and lace;

oh

Kagome got up to her alarm clock. Her body ached her mother had not been very nice to her last night, not that she ever was. Around her friends sure she was the mom everyone could ever want but behind closed doors only Kagome knew the true her. She only showed the true her to Kagome.

Kagome sat at her dresser, applying layers of make-up; she will never let her brother know or tell any of her friends what their mother does to her . She put on the same uniform pieces she wore yesterday, her green skirt and sailor top, they were the only ones that didn't have blood on them, the rest her mother was working on. She made sure to wear a dark shirt under her uniform and a pair of dark tights, her legs that had finally healed yesterday where bruised up again. She ran to the kitchen and took a pack of pizza pockets and a juice box from the fridge and threw them into her bag.

She walked to school and caught up with her friends.

"Hey guys!" she said putting on a happy face.

"Hey are you okay, we heard what happened to Sesshoumaru." Eri asked.

"Ya I'll be fine, it's kind a weird though knowing that when I go to hang with Inuyasha he wont be there, damn drunk drivers! They took away an innocent live! My Sesshoumaru!" she yelled and started to cry.

Eri put her arm around Kagome's shoulders and tried to comfort her not noticing when Kagome winced form a bruise she hit. When they got to class they all sat down in there seats.

The teacher wonders but she doesn't ask,

It's hard to see the pain behind the mask;

Bearing the burden of a secret storm,

Sometimes she wishes she was never born;

Her teacher walked buy handing out there tests from yesterday Kagome smiled when she seen she had gotten a big fat A.

"Good job Kagome!" her teacher congratulated her while looking at the side of her face where there was a bruise. She wasn't sure if she should talk to her about it or not, putting it at the back of her mind and got on with class. It couldn't be serious if Kagome was so happy all the time.

Kagome thought later during class, 'I hate keeping this damn secret; why mom must you have to be so mean! If I'm so bad all the time why was I even brought into this world, this life has no purpose. Not with Sesshoumaru gone and out of my life. God, how I miss him, I wish; if I could have only one wish, I wish he would be back with me!'

Through the wind and the rain,

She stands hard as a stone in a world that she can't rise above;

But her dreams give her wings and she flies to a place where she's loved.

Kagome came home later an hour before her brother and knew it was not a good thing, her mom came out with a bat in her hand.

"Kagome! You have been very bad to her brother, he is so kind yet you take advantage of him, you should know better! You must be punished" she yelled and swung the bat at Kagome, the bat hit her knees, but Kagome would not yell form the pain, no that would give her mom pleasure. Her mom swung the bat again hitting her in the stomach causing Kagome to gasp for air but she would not fall.

"That is enough for now, go to bed we will deal with this later." She said as she heard her son Souta come up the front steps.

Kagome nodded thankful for her brothers timing and went upstairs, she went into the shower and after 5 minutes she got out too tired to stand any longer, she put on a pair of pajama's and fell into a peaceful sleep where she was with her father and Sesshoumaru.

Concrete Angel

Somebody cries in the middle of the night,

The neighbors hear but they turn out the lights;

A fragile soul caught in the hands of fate,

When morning comes it will be too late.

Kagome got up in the middle of the night and started to stare through her window thinking of her last moments with Sesshoumaru.

*flashback*

"Kagome, I Love you, will you stay with me always? We are graduating soon and I would like to know-" he paused as he bent down on one knee and pulled out a small box he opened it and continued, " will you marry me?" he said taking the ring out knowing she would say yes, his eyes confident as ever.

"Yes I will Sesshoumaru! I love you so much!" she said and he put the ring on her ring finger and picked her up spinning her around, he then leaned in and gave her a kiss full of passion. After spending the rest of the afternoon together he walked her home and left, not hearing Kagome scream as her mother started to hit her with a pan.

**End of flashback**

Her mom came in to her room with the bat again, "Kagome get away from that window, that is no place to be!" she walked closer and swung the bat at her arm. Kagome heard as sickening crack as her arm broke and fell limply to her side.

Her mother then hit her in the other arm but not breaking it. Kagome couldn't help it, she screamed and screamed praying that someone heard her. But no one came she turned her eyes to the house at which her window faced, they just turned out the light. She wanted to yell "No get help I'm going to die!" but all she could manage was a yell of pain as her mother hit her over and over again. Kagome felt something inside of her and swore that her soul had finally broken under all the pain.

By the time her mother finished beating her Kagome only managed to gather two breaths of air and seen her brother run in looking terrified, "Souta! Call the 911! I love you tell Shippo, Sango, Miroku and Inuyasha I love them to!" she managed to get out and she closed her eyes her breath leaving her as she thought of all her friends.

Shippo, she was looking into adopting him she would go and see him almost everyday he was young only three years old and he had started to actually call her mommy. She was going to go and adopt him tomorrow. Sango her best friend since she could remember, she didn't get to see her today; she was most likely skipping with Miroku. Miroku her perverted friend but still she loved him, and Inuyasha he was going to be her brother in law if Sesshoumaru hadn't died and he still was her best friend.

The police arrived first and they ran to her room, examining her body with sad eyes they lifted her onto the stretcher that the doctors from the ambulance had brought in and putt a blanket over her entire body. She was gone, she was never coming back, and they went to Souta and asked him, "Who did this?"

"M-Mommy did!" was all he said breaking into tears.

They picked him up and brought him to the living room where his mother sat waiting for them to leave calmly, and they noticed not a single tear came from her eyes.

They handcuffed her and brought to the station after they brought Souta to the neighbour But still Souta looked to Kagome's picture for hope.

Concrete Angel

A statue stands in a shaded place,

An angel girl with an upturned face;

Her name is written on a polished rock,

A broken heart that the world forgot.

Everyone was gathered around Kagome's grave morning, except that is her mother. Her mother didn't bother coming, she didn't care.

Kagome watched as they all gathered around her grave, she looked at them all staring at her grave as the priest went on reading from the bible. She read the rock that was under the statue, it held her name, birth and death, and she turned her head and realized she was berried beside her love, Sesshoumaru. As she watched she could see the emotions flashing over all of her friends and family, confusion, wondering, how did they not notice, why didn't they bother to ask her what was really wrong when she came to school limping.

Kagome turned around and walked into a mans loving arms, Sesshoumaru. She smiled at him. And he whispered, "do not worry Souta will be fine." Her smile grew bigger and brighter at this and he smiled.

"I've missed you! I stood strong all that time, for you. I love you," she whispered as a happy tear fell from her eyes.

"You made me even more proud of you, I love you to." he said in her ear and brought her hand up to his face. "You didn't take it off? Thank you." he leaned in and captured her lips in a passion filled kiss, as they kissed a cloud formed at their feet and slowly they where in golfed in it and disappeared. And she knew this was where she went in her dreams, with her love Sesshoumaru to a better place where no one would kill him and no one would beat her. She stayed strong for him. For their love. For each other.
