Tea Time
Chapter One: Spilt Tea
In her life the biggest decisions she would have to make were what food and clothes she would bring and what tests she would make up, not whether or not she would keep his baby. Swollen now to eight months exact, keeping track of time is easy when all you can think about is the night when it happened. Depressed and shuffling ones feet around in her mother's, empty at the present, home Kagome reached into her mother's tea cabinet pulling out sleepy time tea.
"beep, beep, beep"
Hands dropped the tea bag as they brought themselves up to her now pounding head; she already had a border line headache. The microwave made those awful, annoying three beeps, sending her dormant headache into an active state. Pulling herself through she picked up the tea bag, pulled her cup out from the infuriating loud device and proceeded with making her sleepy time tea. After ten dips of the tea bag she added milk and sugar, sipping her steamy hot cup of tea. Just as she shuffled over to the couch she was previously residing on and about to sit down when the door bell rang.
"What now" Irritated she stopped what she was doing and with the cup of tea still in her hands she made her way to the door, which just like the microwave became her enemy. She made a 2 second stop to put her hair behind her ears and take in account that she was still in her pajamas. Unfortunately with the pregnancy so far along she stopped worrying about what her appearance looked like. With nothing to lose she opened the door silently wishing it wasn't Hojo or some solicitor. What she did see caused her hands to become slack as a loud crash of the tea cup seemed to echo through her head, hot liquid of her precious tea spewed everywhere. One word, one name she had come to fear and in hopes of hiding came to her own time but now that one name whispered from her now parted lips,
"Sesshoumaru"
Sesshoumaru looked into her deep pools of orbs seen by himself in person so long ago. She was his desired mate yet some how she escaped him. He had no idea how she survived these many years but he knew for sure that she was Kagome and not a reincarnation of HIS Kagome. He took a minute of his time to study her features as he remembered them, same liquid brown eyes full of emotion, same raven hair smooth as silk. Something changed however, the present state of her largely swollen abdomen, this puzzled him greatly for she was not with child when she disappeared and if she had, his son or daughter would be at least 500 yrs. Old. He took a deep breath and smelt no presence of an offspring which would be nearly impossible. A plausible thought entered his already busy mind, what if she met someone else and created the child that resides in her.
His eyes focused back on hers as she asked him to enter her home. She scuttled on past him, fear radiating of her in waves, 'why is she afraid of me?' He continued to watch her movements until she vanished into the kitchen, he followed.
'Why is he hear, why is he hear, why is he hear? What in the name of god am I going to do! He's obviously from this time because of his clothes. Why did he search for me? Why did he wait until I'm almost done with my pregnancy? Is he going to take my baby? Does he know it's his?' Millions more of questions leading up to each other made comfortable homes inside her wreck of a mind. She had to get away from him, "Please come in." 'WHY DID I SAY THAT? I don't want him to come in, bad kagome, bad bad Kagome!' She let him in after a slip of her manners then hurried into the kitchen, she needed a towel anyways for the mess she made and a new cup of tea.
She reached into one of the drawers for a dish towel when her emotions went into override and caused her to leak tears. 'I'm not suppose to cry, I'm not suppose to cry." Again she started to repeat such sayings to herself till a familiar presence was felt, she choked out what she desperately needed to know, "Wh...why are yo...you he...here" She quieted her choking sobs and turned her tear streaked face towards him to repeat her question, "Why are you hear." It came out more like a plea instead of the strong voice she was trying to do.
"I told you I would never let you go." He stated in his monotone silk voice, "Now a question for you, who is your new mate?"
She frowned and looked into his piercing gold gaze, "New mate?"
He narrowed his eyes, intensifying the atmosphere and made a curt nod.
'He thought I had a new mate, what do I do? He doesn't know about the well then. Maybe I could compromise.' Finally clear thoughts echoed themselves through her terrorized mind. 'Compromise then.'
"Tell you what," She stood completely up with her back straight and wiped her fresh tears away leaving her eyes a tad bit red and puffy, "I want to take a bath, hang around and we'll talk." She stared back until he gave recognition to her compromise and nodded again.
In the bath, Kagome seated herself into the steaming hot water, letting all her troubles evaporate. But sadly Sesshoumaru kept popping in her mind along with what he reminded her, "I told you I would never let you go" His words echoed themselves through her body creating shivers even though she was in hot water. She hated that saying, he would say that almost constantly. Memories flooded back, she promised herself she would forget yet her old story unfolds itself through her mind sending her back into her past, their past.
