Part One: Meet and Hate

" Ms. Higurashi," a young voice said

Kagome turned around and looked at her students and smiled

" Yes, Haru," she replied

" Is everything the matter, you seem kind of out of it so to say," he said

Kagome smiled and said, " Thank you for your concern Haru, but I am fine. Welcome class to Japan's feudal history. My favorite part of Japan's history."

Kagome began to lecture and felt her heart pound deep inside her. She felt connected to this type of history after all she tried to remember why it inspired her to teach this segment and linger on it half the year.

Once classes were off she walked down the halls of her old high school and admired the new age look the school took on. She remembered all it from each nook to each closet that the janitors placed they're equipment in. Kagome walked downstairs to the office to sign out and turn her id in.

" How was your first day Ms. Higurashi?" the office attendant asked

" It was very relaxing," Kagome said

" You must like it here after all these years you attended this school," the attendant said

" Yes, I do and I love Tokyo in general," she said

" Be careful Mrs. Higurashi they'll eat you up if your to nice to them," A deep voice said

She turned around and smirked at the teacher dressed in a nice shirt and tie. He looked at her and straighten up as he placed his id on the counter.

" They're like beast, first they approach they're prey then they attack it, Rip it to shreds. You have to make sure to read their eyes before they attack," He said

" And how would you know?" Kagome said

" I've been teaching for 5 years Ms. Higurashi I live and breath the dark side of high school students," he said

Kagome smirked and looked at the attendant as the young man walked away.

" Mr. Hagemu, he's the chemistry teacher," she said, " A real hot shot."

" A real ass," she said, " He's just a teacher who doesn't know the area. Where did he come from?"

" An all boys school just outside Tokyo," the attendant said

" Really, well he doesn't know this school like I do. We'll see who survives," she said, " I'll see you tomorrow."

Kagome walked out and walked to her car. She got into her car and took off and caught every red light and got behind a real show off. He gunned his motor and took off as soon as the red light turned green. She rolled her eyes and drove off and then stopped at a local café. Kagome parked and got out then walked in and quickly ordered.

" Hi Ms. Higurashi, what can I get you," A student she taught said

" Hi, Karen, I'll take my usual," she said

" Alright, that will be it?" she asked

Kagome nodded and said, " Yes, oh Karen do you have Chemistry with Mr. Hagemu?"

" Yeah I do why?" Karen asked

" Is he a show off?" she asked

" He's really dreamy, Ms. Higurashi and really cool. I have an A in his class, most the girls do," she said

" Figured that much," Kagome said, " Thanks Karen."

Kagome paid and got her tea then went to sit down to sip a little of her tea. Kagome looked over papers and smiled at what she saw. Then she heard a voice a familiar voice that really rubbed her the wrong way.

" Well, well, Ms. Higurashi," The deep voice said

She looked up and saw Mr. Hagemu and then turned some graded pages over.

" What can I do for you Mr. Hagemu?" she asked

" Ah, so you knew me all along," He replied taking a seat

" Did I say you could join me, I'm in the middle grading papers. I didn't know you until today. So please could you leave me alone," Kagome said

He smiled and stood then walked off.

" See you around Ms. Higurashi," Mr. Hagemu said

Kagome rolled her eyes and finished up then went to her car. She found a note on her windshield and she picked it up.

" Thanks for coffee," She said, " Signed Mr. Hagemu."

She crumbled the paper then got into her car. She started her car and drove to her apartment. Her neighbor as usual playing his disgusting music, so she fought back. She turned up her surround sound classical music. She then turned the hot and cold water on in her bath, then showered quickly while she waited for the bath to fill up. She then got into the bath and relaxed.

" Ah, this feels so good," she thought, " after standing all day."

As soon as she soaked for an hour, Kagome got out and made a fast dinner. She ate whiling listening to her music, then walked out on the balcony. She sat out and heard the sliding door shut next door.

" Good evening," a voice said

She looked over and nodded to her neighbor. He walked over to a telescope and looked through it.

" Wonderful beauty," he said, " They say that the gods put them up there so the people could see during the night."

Kagome nodded and looked at the stars and smiled. She then looked over at her neighbor. He was a young man a little older than her, an astronomer and doctor that worked down the road at the research labs of science. He had long black hair that was pulled back, a little rough, but very handsome. He always wore a t-shirt and jeans every night when he came out to look at the stars.

" Found anything new at the research lab," she asked

" Plenty, I just can't tell you," he replied with a smile

Kagome chuckled and said, " Of course top secret right."

" No, I can't tell you because I don't know," he said with a grin

Kagome smiled looked at him and he smiled at her.

" You're a teacher right Miss," he said

" Kagome," she said, " Kagome Higurashi."

" Ah, well pleasure to meet you Ms. Higurashi," He said, " I'm Inu, Shoutei."

" Inu?" she asked

" Yeah, well that's a nickname I took awhile ago. Dr. Inu Shoutei," he recited

" Doctor that's really cool," she said

Inu smiled wrote down something then looked at Kagome.

" If I may ask Ms. Kagome Higurashi, can I ask you for a drink inside," he remarked

" A drink sounds lovely," Kagome said

She waved and walked inside, then walked next door to the right. She knocked on the door and Inu opened the door to let her in. He invited her in and Kagome looked around his apartment. Star maps laid all over and special equipment beeped.

" I'm sorry it's a mess I was just doing some research," he said

He folded some maps and made a place to sit then poured some wine.

" So tell me what do you teach?" he asked

" Oh, I teach Japan's history," she said, " At the local high school."

" Ah, little monsters," he said, " But they're all good kids."

Kagome smiled and sipped the wine and looked at Inu.

" It seems like years since I've actually sat down to drink," Kagome said sipping the wine

Inu nodded and poured another glass for himself then one for Kagome. Both started a dialogue finding wonderful information about each other. They could only laugh and seem to become attracted to each other. This would be the start of a new love affair.

The following morning Kagome got dressed and ate breakfast. She grabbed her coffee to go and got into her car. She saw Inu walk out and get into a nice car, which carried all his scientific maps and equipment. She chuckled then headed to school, she saw a parking spot and was about to pull into it, when a silver car pulled into it. She honked and saw Mr. Hagemu get out. He straighten his tie and smiled at Kagome. She found another spot just outside the school's parking lot. She walked towards the school and a car drove by splashing mud all over her. She growled and screamed, then walked into the building.

" Ms. Higurashi," the attendant said

Kagome saw Mr. Hagemu standing there socializing with the Physics teacher, a pretty young woman with short black hair. She wore a business suite often and called herself Kagura. She walked over and slapped Mr. Hagemu and he jumped back.

" Well, if it isn't Ms. Higurashi, Mrs. Chin; this is the new Japanese's history teacher," he said

" Pleasure to meet you Ms. Higurashi. I hear so much about your class from some of my students," Mrs. Chin said, " My husband teaches Japanese history at the local college. Did you take his class?"

" Mr. Rihito Chin, Yes, I did," she said, " Very intelligent man unlike some pig head men."

Mr. Hagemu looked at her and smirked

" I happen to be very intelligent," he said with pride

" Only in your mind," she siad

The bell rang and the all went to class. The students watch Kagome teach with such a gifted way that they understood. She passed a knowledge test back out and smiled at them. They truly were happy to be in her class. Towards the end of her day she had decided that it was time to seek revenge on the fine Chemistry teacher.

So, the Warring State's era was reopened in school against two warring subjects. Chemistry and History started the war of the present time of Japan. Day in and day out the two warring teachers continued to leave devilish notes and take each other's spots in the parking lot. They both despised each other and continued to for the longest time.

" Oh, you should have seen his face Ayumi, his car was full of mud," Kagome said

" Sounds like this Chemistry teacher is really working on your nerves, but you know Kagome. You need to stop you two are only going to hurt each other more," Ayumi said

" The bastards got to learn that I don't mess around," Kagome said

" Just make sure this doesn't get you fired," Ayumi said, " I can understand little jokes, but not big ones."

Kagome nodded and stood up from Ayumi's desk. She bowed and walked out the office and saw Mr. Hagemu walking towards the office. She narrowed her eyes and both stopped side by side.

" You'll pay," he whispered, " Pay well Ms. Higurashi."

Kagome narrowed her eyes and walked off.

" When," she thought

Part two: Dreams that were so Familiar

One month past and Kagome woke up from another startling dream. She breathed deep and took a sip of water.

" Who was that? Why am I having these dreams," she thought

Kagome sighed and looked at the clock. It was almost time to get up, but she wasn't feeling well. She was feeling weary like she was struggling and couldn't breath. Kagome walked to her bathroom and washed her face. Her eyes met a set of eyes in the mirror that seemed evil then they vanished and a set of golden eyes met her, followed by a figure of a young man with dog ears. She gasped as she reached up, but the image vanished.

" What's going on?" she whispered

She reached for the phone and called Ayumi, and as she did she felt ill and faint. She fainted just as Ayumi picked up the phone.

" Kagome?" Ayumi said, " Kagome?"

Hours later she opened her eyes and saw a machine next to her bed side. A nurse walked in and checked on her.

" Dr. Shoutei will be in," she said

" Dr. Shoutei?" she whispered

" Yes, dear, just rest," the nurse said

Kagome closed her eyes and flashes occurred and she opened her eyes to see Inu standing there with a chart at hand.

" Ms. Higurashi we meet again," he said pulling up a seat

She looked at him and he took her blood pressure and checked her over.

" What happen?" she asked

Inu looked at her and said, " Just a reaction, some memories of your past are trying to come forward. Your lucky that someone came and got you."

Kagome shook her head and leaned back.

" I don't understand, all I remember is seeing a dog like man appearing in my mirror calling my name. He vanished just right as I was calling my boss. I then fainted and woke up here," She said

" Have you been under stress," he asked

" No, not really," she replied

" Perhaps your activities that you watch at school," Inu suggested

Kagome shook her head and said, " No nothing. I don't remember really being under stress. Can I leave?"

" You can, but I want to see you in a week to see how your doing. I believe there is away to help you recover what memories that have been lost," He said, " I want you to get some blood work done for me."

" Alright," she whispered

He looked at her and she stared at him. She tilted her head and slightly pictured the dog eared man. Her eyes widen and she covered her mouth.

" He looked like you," she whispered, " I don't know why, but he had silver hair, gold eyes and dog ears. Then there was someone in the back who was human that looked like him, but you."

Inu looked at her and grabbed her hand. He then lifted her hand to his lips and kissed her hand.

" How about this I do a little research for you about what you saw and see if I pick up anything," he said, " I'll meet you for dinner Saturday night with results at the nice Skyline restaurant."

" Alright, I'll be there," she replied

Kagome returned home and laid down on her couch trying to figure out why she was having the past come to her.

Kagome wore a white night gown and her hair was down. She walked to a part of the shrine where the old well was. There she opened the door and saw a bright light come out of the well. There appeared the dog eared boy. His clothing tattered, he was beat up and bloody, weak and tiered. She came to him and he walked to her then fell into her arms. She gently fell onto the ground and held him, she let him rest on her lap and suddenly he became human.

" Kagome," he whispered, " Don't forget who I am and why I have become who I am now. I will return to you soon, much like I am."

" I don't understand, Inuyasha why are you leaving me," she whispered

" Because I made a promise to two lovers. I would die as the half breed for her sake and return human to live with her in her time," Inuyasha whispered, " You may not recognize me at first, but I will be there."

Inuyasha fell into a deep slumber as his body slowly vanished away. Kagome felt tears in her eyes and cried out.

" Come back!"

Kagome sat up and breathed deep, she wiped the tears from her face, then stood up.

" Inuyasha," she whispered, " Who are you?"

Kagome walked onto her balcony and breathed in the air that circled her. So did memories, voices she could not place, but her own. Pictures flew into her mind.

~~~flash~~~

" You what these memories to be go Kagome, it is something that can not be reversed," Kaede said

" I want them gone. I want to forget the past. Inuyasha is dead and I can't die with him," she cried

" Then what will you do if Inuyasha is reborn," Sesshomaru's dark voice said as he held his wounds

" Then I will rebuild my memories with new ones," she said

" Wench he died for you defeating Naraku," Sesshomaru growled grabbing her by her shoulders

" I have too," she whispered, " How can I get over death if I must remember it."

Sesshomaru's eyes widen and he drew Tokijin. He placed it at her throat and she looked at him.

" You show no fear, but there is fear," He said, " Very well then. Death shall be forgotten, but replayed in your mind when one day it resurfaces."

Without another word he pulled Tokijin from her throat. Then with one thrust he thrust Tokijin into his heart. Kagome, Sango, Shippo, Miroku, just stood there. Kagome shook her head.

" You idiot," she said, " Why?"

Sesshomaru pulled Tokijin and looked at her.

" One, day this will all resurface and life will....be...." Sesshomaru stuttered then closed his eyes before he could finish

" Sesshomaru," she whispered, " What about life?"

Tears fell from her face, her once enemy of her beloved died for death and to help restore the balance of hope. She turned to Kaede and knelt down.

" Let me forget this," she whispered, " Let me see Inuyasha and Sesshomaru again in a new life."

Kagome fell to her knees and tears fell.

" Who are you Sesshomaru, Inuyasha," she whispered

The next two days Kagome pondered over the dreams as she stared at her lesson book. The feudal era made her dwell on the past and she closed her eyes.

" All my pain, started here," she whispered

A knock came on the door and Kagome looked up and saw Mr. Hagemu. He walked in and placed a couple of freshly picked pink roses.

" Here, I'm sorry Ms. Higurashi. I heard you were ill for the last two days," he said, " I feel guilty for everything."

" It's not you fault, you shouldn't," she whispered, " I just became ill."

Mr. Hagemu looked at her and then knelt down.

" Would you like to go to lunch with me, I don't have another class for another hour. I know you don't either," he said

"Ah...sure," she said

Mr. Hagemu helped her up and they walked out. He helped her into his car then got in. He drove off and went to the café where they ordered lunch.

" So do you have a first name or do I call you Ms. Higurashi?" he asked

" No, my name is Kagome," she replied, " What about you?"

" They call me Sess," he said

The name echoed in her mind and little flashes in her mind occurred. She thought and tried to place the name. Had she heard it?

" Kagome," he said grabbing her arm

" I'm sorry," she said snapping out

" Are you sure your ok?" he asked

" Never better," she replied

Sess and Kagome talked for the whole hour as they ate. They returned just in time for their classes. Kagome felt better, but the flash of that person in the past reminded her of Sess. Had her dreams been telling her something.

Part 3: Sess/ Inu/Kagome the connection begins

Inu looked at his computer and studied it. He found on images that Kagome has mentioned. He printed them out and ran them through a machine to analyze them, but the readings were out of line.

" Dr. Shoutei, someone's here to see you," his assistant said

" Tell them I'll be there," he said

He saved his work and got up, walked out to see a man standing there in nice clothing.

" Can I help you?" he asked

" Ah, Dr. Shoutei," the man said, " I need a favor."

" Who are you?" he asked

" Sess, Hagemu," the man said

Inu nodded and said, " Pleasure to meet you, but what can I do?"

" I have been running around all day finding a doctor who can tell me about sleeping disorders," Sess aid

" Sleeping disorder, well there are plenty, I would have to analyze you first," Inu said, " Is there anyway you could come back."

" I'm afraid not. My schedule is booked. You see I'm a chemistry teacher at the high school," Sess said

" No need to explain come this way," Inu said

He guided Sess to the back and there a large machine which looked like a full body x-ray turned on. Inu looked at Sess and Sess made a slight face.

" What's a matter tight spaces scare you?" Inu said

" Yeah, it's been fear since I was 17," he said

" Don't worry it's really not as tight as it looks," Inu said, " It's safe."

Sess walked to it and Inu handed him a medical gown. Sess walked to a spare room and changed. Inu set the machine and Sess got in, the machine closed and started running a scan. Inu looked at the computers and became confused. He saw the same images that Kagome had. He then walked to a room and a hologram appeared of Sess' brain. He placed gloves on and took a closer look. What he saw was not what he believed he saw, he opened up a new string of memories. A life that began 550 years ago. He looked at Sess in the machine and then at the brain waves.

" This is amazing, It's close to Kagome's," he said, " He suffers the same way she does. How is it possible that someone like her can have the same memories?"

The machine stopped and Sess got out and looked at Inu. He walked out and removed his glasses.

" Your suffering from a memory serge just like another patient of mine. She has memories similar to your own. But the strange thing is that they both can date back 550 years ago, during the warring states era," he said

Sess looked at him and then turned away.

" My past, what about it?" he asked

" It doesn't exist, just the past of 550 years ago," He said

Sess looked at Inu and said, " That's not possible."

" Not scientifically it isn't," Inu replied

Sess pondered and then shook Inu's hand.

" Thanks Dr. Shoutei," Sess said, " I'll do some research on my family."

" I'm sorry I wasn't any help," he said

" No, you were more help than you think," Sess spoke

He then walked off and Inu sighed. He walked back to his computer and looked at the images. Had he been correct about calling such a delicate matter a memory serge? He saved the file on Sess and placed it on his continuous research. Same images as Kagome had taken place, but 550 years. What was the connection, there was something missing, but what was it?

" Dr. Shoutei," a voice said

Inu looked up, seeing a young doctor with a black business suite and a lab coat over it.

" You must be Dr. Lang," he said standing up

" Yes, that's me, Kikyo Lang. Your new research partner," she said

" Well, then it's good you're here I wish to ask you a favor," Inu said

Kikyo walked over and sat next to the computer, where Inu showed her what he was doing.

" I want you to do this for me. I'm trying to figure someone's past and memories that they hold," Inu said, " Two I have already tried this on have the same back ground. Ms. Higurashi Kagome and Mr. Hagemu Sess. They have past I can't understand."

Kikyo looked at him and smiled.

" Then let's make a break through," she said

Inu walked off and returned, he slid into the machine and Kikyo started the machine. Just as Inu described she read deep with in his mind. Images appeared and she looked closely at them.

" Welcome, back Inuyasha to the world of the living," Kikyo whispered, " This time I will have you all to myself and alter fate for my reincarnation and your brother."

By Friday Kagome was ready for the weekend and ready to meet Inu over dinner, even though he lived just next door. Kagome looked out the window on her lunch break as munched on a fresh green salad. Sess walked past her room holding a bag, he knocked on the door and she looked up.

" May I come in and have lunch with you," he said childishly

Kagome smiled and nodded and Sess walked in. He sat the bag down and smiled at Kagome as she ate her salad.

" Don't you eat anything more than just salad?" He asked

" I live on salad, but I do eat other stuff. What's in the bag?" she said

" Stuff, that's eatable," he said

" Well duh!" she exclaimed

" I bought two pastries and coffee," He said, " But I'm afraid there's none for you."

A smile creased his face and she gave him a look. He handed her one and some coffee. She reached over and kissed his cheek then opened the pastry bag.

" Tell me Kagome why do you like these pastries?" he asked taking a bite of his

" Brings back childhood memories. My mom use to take me to the bakery down the road every Friday to get a pastry of my choice," Kagome said

Sess smiled and then thought back to what Inu had told him that he had no past within the past 24 years. He found something that he thought was his past 550 years ago. He then looked at Kagome and wondered why she knew of her past if she too had the memory of only 550 years ago.

" Kagome, do you have strange dreams?" he asked

" Yes, plenty of them," she replied, " Why do you ask?"

" I'm just wondering cause I have had a dream about a girl that I knew that looked exactly like you," he stated

Kagome looked at him and wondered if he had the same dreams she had and if so maybe he tell her who she was dreaming about. They both met each other's gaze and stared at each other. Suddenly the bell rang and they snapped out of the stare. Sess stood up and bowed, then left the room. She was left to wonder why he stared?

That evening Sess went home to his apartment. He sighed and looked out his window then heard a knock on his door. He walked to the door, then opened it, there his eyes widen to see a young woman, with long brown hair and a short black dress. She smiled and bowed.

" Sess," she said

" Rin," he said

She walked in and stood in front of him and then walked around him. He shut the door and turned on his heels to look at her.

" It's been quite sometime Rin," he whispered, " Why are you here?"

" I came to see you. Aren't you happy to see me?" she spoke

Sess walked over to her and took her coat. She turned around and looked at him as he just stood there staring at her. She smiled and walked to him and then kissed his cheek.

" How could you come back after what you did to me?" Sess asked

" I know I was wrong, Sess please I came to say that I'm sorry. I know your mad after I set you up at our wedding," Rin whispered, " But can't you see that I'm here to ask for your forgiveness."

Sess turned away and then looked her. She got closer and pressed her figure on his lips. She unbutton his shirt and pressed her lips against his own. She kissed him and he wrapped his arms around her. It had been 3 years since he saw her, she was beautiful and very well dressed. She had done well for herself after what happen.

Sess kissed her back and soon took her into his bed room. He turned off the ringers of his phone and turned off any disturbance that might occur. He then smiled at Rin as she laid on his bed ready for him. He couldn't resist the love he still had for her, he kissed her before they made love. As the hours past and they both fell asleep in each other's arms , Sess laid awake stroking Rin's soft skin. He wasn't thinking about her, but thinking about the dreams that consumed his spirit. He closed his eyes and pulled Rin close.

Inu looked at the results as Kikyo locked up. He stared at the his test, Sess and Kagome's test. They all had a past of 550 years, but Kagome's alternated several times, but for periods of times her past remain in the past of 550 years ago. He sat down and Kikyo walked in the lab and looked at him.

" Dr. Shoutei?" she questioned

" You may leave Dr. Lang," he whispered, " I have a little more research to do."

" Very well," she said

Inu tapped into his computer and pull up Sess and Kagome's files. He couldn't understand what was going on.

" Why?" he thought, " Are these things related?"

Inu turned off his computer and walked out of the lab. He got into his car and started it up. He took off and headed home where he saw Kagome standing by his door.

" Kagome," he said

" Inu," she replied

He walked to her and looked at her. She seemed to be alright, but why was she out by his door?

" Is there anything the matter?" he asked

" I don't want to be alone," she replied

Inu stared at her and Kagome walked to him and kissed his lips. He closed his eyes and kissed her back. He dropped his things and wrapped his arms around her, she then wrapped hers around him.

" Hold on a second," he said

He unlocked the door and grabbed his things then tossed them to the side. He looked at her and pulled her to him. They kissed lightly, but then it became more. Inu guided her into his apartments as they wildly kissed. He shut the door and continued to kiss her, then guided her into his room where they went deeper and further.

By the early morning Kagome opened her eyes and saw Inu laying next to her. She smiled then slipped out of his bed and gentle hold. She dressed and walked to her apartment, there she watched the sun rise from her balcony. Kagome breathed deep and tears fell from her face. She had no idea why she was crying, but she knew she would one day find out.
