sad yet beautiful

I know I already left a review for this, but seriously...This fic has been on my mind all day, I think simply because it seems more realistic than many of the others I have read. I especially keep thinking back to the short dialog between the two, where they both admit being ashamed but unable to stop.
I guess I just wanted to reiterate that I loved it. ;) LOL.

So Kagome chooses to stay in the feudal era and ends up leading another kind of double life, only this one is personal. How terribly sad. Very well written.

I know this won't be continued, but I can live with your decision because my mind has already written the novel. You gave us readers so much to work with: palpable angst and just enough backstory and dialogue to make the possibilities endless. It could very well be a spin cycle of betrayal between this triangle, a revolving door where each person inside is painfully close but they never touch on the emotions and regrets that should be addressed. There were subtle hints with Sesshoumaru's last words that his feelings for Kagome border on affection or tenderness, but she's so broken it's almost as if the stories of him she's plotted in her head are what she's really in love with. In a weird way, it's an interesting parallel to her childish crush on Inuyasha, but maybe I'm all wacko and reading too deeply into things. Actually, strike everything I said, I felt their connection to each other, Sess and Kag, natch, was more honest, no matter how little they said, than what Kagome ever had with Inuyasha. Regardless, this was an excellent piece that went beyond tearing me to bits. I'm literally floating fragments of emotional lint right now. Stellar, angst-ridden work!

I loved it! It's very sad, but poignant. Excellent. :)

The feelings in this hit so close to home I can see myself in her shoes even though I've never been unfaithful. You never know where your life will go, and it is only so easy to forget where you once loved when that person doesn't even pretend to the emotion.

Thank you. Validation in fanfiction. *S* You're one of the few people capable of making that happen.
