I am sorry, but i will not accept that ending. it was extremely well done and it works. BUT I hate the fact that you seem to have this vendetta towards Inuyasha. What is it with you liking to torture the poor guy?

Also. I would like to say that I did in fact love your fic and read it start to finish in only two days. I will also save it to my memory (in my head not my comp) and reread it at some point later on.

for the sake of my sanity when that day comes the last few paragraphs i will take as Inuyasha was having a nightmare and then waking up to the reality of his son. for it would be much to cruel otherwise.
Rumiko would be scandalized that you did a much more reality based version of her own works, Congrats

sasha- Tue 04 Dec 2007
I dont care what anyone says, that ending was absolutely beautiful.
Maybe this sound a bit dark, but i thuoght it was a sweet ending. Anyone whos ever been in that state of depression thats so deep will be able to agree with me that; when your that far gone, the only thing that feels real anymore IS the fantasy. When your 'awake' is depressing. Reality is the true nighmare, In your sleep, and your fantasies is where you truly live. Atleast he was able to make his fantasy so tangable he could dive in it and live 'happily ever after' ....
Congrats to the author, truly you are amazing. I usually check this site for updates on storys I like every week or so; with this it was nearly every day. To get me that hooked I deffinetly a feat, and the only other author who's bben able to do that is elle6778. I had to read a few of her storys before I was totally hooked, yet on your first try you've hypnotized me, wow.
Thank you, and I hope that we may have the honor of reading another one of your storys soon.

Good God. It's Donnie Darko all over again. Talk about Psychologically f-ed up ending. I'm literally staring at my computer screen with no idea how to respond. I can't say I'm upset with the ending, as it's got a heaping helping of emotional gravitas and the concept is absolutely stunning - in more ways than one - but it does pain me that Inuyasha can't get a break. Interestingly enough, he's imagining people who are definitely real, who he's never met, unless you're insinuating that the entire canon story of Kagome falling through the well is also Inuyasha's imagination. That makes me sadder than I've ever felt before...my beloved cat, Hamwich Gamgee the Camper (I know...how the hell do I get off questioning your naming practices??) could keel over right now and I wouldn't be as traumatized as I am about this ending. Still, for creativity's sake, it's very well done, very conceptual and beyond the point of being original, especially in the IY fandom. Still, a girl can't help but hope...

This is the most depressed I've ever felt after reading a fic, but again, I can't say I wasn't impressed.

And referring back to Donnie Darko, you need to listen to the song "Mad World" as redone by Gary Jules specifically for that movie. It's the summary of this story.

rowdysgirl- Mon 03 Dec 2007
oh, you are bad on just so many levels i can't even begin to count them!!!!

However, you made a very good point that a sweet, happily-ever-after ending wouldn't work as well as the bitter ending you chose. and this is still a classic...don't put down toilet paper or kleenex either, how do you feel when the roll is empty and you're needing some? both are extremely important forms of paper and, in my not-at-all humble opinion, are sure signs of how civilized our society is. that and flush johns.

but now you owe us a sequel. it doesn't have to be long, but now we need you to bring a pretty girl out the damned well so the story can begin!!!! or perhaps we should all just realize that this story occurred before the manga and anime. yes, that's how to deal with it. humans love they happy endings.

it's still a good job and you have a right to feel proud of yourself!

Demonlordlover- Sun 02 Dec 2007
I read the first chapter and knew if I wanted to retain my sanity I'd have to wait until this was finished to read through.

Fantastic story. The angst was entirely believable. Sometimes I dislike angst simply for the reason that it seems forced. When it plays out in a realistic manner, I'm an instant fan.

The characterizations were wonderfully filled out so that their motivations were never in question.

Abi, as a character, was a great addtion and I loved that you paired her with Inuyasha. The relationship between Kagome and Sesshoumaru was well-done and even better was the healing between Inuyasha and his Taiyoukai brother.

All in all, a wonderful story, and I thank you for sharing it with us!

Well.... yeah that's pretty much all I can say. I liked your story until the epilogue. I kind of wish I had skipped that part. Don't get me wrong. This was very well written with a lovely mix of angst, humor and action. I just think you laid it on entirely too thick there at the end. They could have not led fluffy, happy ever after lives, without it all being a fantasy. That hurt my heart love. Otherwise, Excellent story!

At first I thought OMG. After the initial shock, I think you are correct. This story had many dark aspects, such as Rin constantly throwing herself off of high places to end her re-existence. A happy ending perhaps would have seemed nonsequitur in a story filled with one terrible thing happening after another. I thoroughly enjoyed the read and I congratulate you on the successful completion of your dark tale.

snowbird- Sun 02 Dec 2007
Well I'm sorry to say I have to agree with those that are disappointed with the ending. For me it took away the enjoyment of the story. I'm sorry to be so negative, but I could have cried. For my part, I plan to back up and ignore what's wrote after he falls asleep. Sometime in the future, I plan on reading it again because it is a good story, but will stop at where they fall asleep. luna- Thu 29 Nov 2007
awww that little talk between the baby and inuyasha was just so intense and wow, actually the whole chapter was intence especially the whole birth it just seemed so intimate and everything you would expect out of a birth between two people in love.

swasdiva- Tue 27 Nov 2007
Oh my God, I have a crit.

Please tell me you did not name their child "Puppy". He won't need to be hanyou to get his butt kicked on the playground with a name like that. Man, I know I'm being harsh, but that's like naming your kid "Baby"...

*swasdiva's imagination is suddenly wearing black leather and dancing like Patrick Swayze* "Nobody puts Puppy in a corner..."

Alright, I take it back. It's pop culture gold. Katsu can even yell that in a fight! Koinu will no doubt grow up to be gorgeous, and he would definitely be like the wind through some lucky bitch's trees (sorry, Dirty Dancing reference). And now that I look at it, there are phonetic similarities to Kohaku...

Speaking of Katsu, what does Katsu mean, anyway??

Alright, all extremely evil crits aside (I'm being very mean today, what's wrong with me?) this chapter was the DEFINITION of ASTOUNDING. It seriously was publish-worthy. I have never been so in love with Sesshoumaru as I am with him in this story. I've watched him mature from a youkai boy to a man, and more of a man than his up-on-a-pedestal father ever was. How fondness over the memory of a blanket can do that to me, I have no idea, but it was so tender, and so *wise*, that I can't help but feel a pang in my heart. Of course, Sesshoumaru would never, especially at you point you've placed him in his life, ascribe to being wise, but isn't that what makes a man wise in the first place, his humility? Who would've ever thought you could associate Sesshoumaru and humility so easily. You've done it. That scene made his character more tangible than I've ever encountered. Kagome was amazingly written, too, but her insight and tenderness is somewhat taken for granted, I guess. All in all, the way you've let them grow together is nothing short of transcendental. Certain questionable naming practices aside (maybe it's a family name? I got stuck with one of those...), this is a satisfying end to en extremely emotional journey.

Well done...*many hugs and many smiles*

Jean- Sun 25 Nov 2007
You did a great job describing the intimacy between Sesshoumaru and Kagome as Sesshoumaru revealed some of his childhood memories. Giving birth can make you shed your modesty and inhibitions rapidly. It makes sense that during such a private time Sesshoumaru would be able to shed his most troubling secrets to share with his wife. In the end, they become so much closer. The pup's name, it means "puppy" doesn't it? If so, that doesn't sound very demon-fearsome. Perhaps that was just a term of endearment.

snowbird- Sun 25 Nov 2007
I liked the birthing scene. It was touching and intense. It seems Sesshoumaru was finally able to make peace with his childhood. I like the bond they have. They know their love for each other without having to say the words. Like the old saying "actions speak louder than words". Can't forget Inuyasha. He was absolutely hilarious with Kagome. I laughed so hard, I almost choked. Also, it was a very touching scene him bonding with his new nephew.

Oh Inuyasha I love you. You are such a funny, sweet jerk. I really had a good laugh at him being made the chief polital advisor. Won't be too many arguments from the council members with him around. Yes, I agree. We could do with him being unloaded on Washington DC. You talk about cleaning house! It was so sad and sweet the talk between Sesshoumaru and Sun about Rin's mortality. It's too bad she couldn't take on his lifespan when they mated, but I guess that means a person can't get everything they wish for. He will just have to be strong and enjoy her while he can. I'm glad that Sesshoumaru finally feels happy with his life. I regretfully have to agree with the ending of this beautiful story. As far as I know, all questions have been answered and problems solved.

Jean- Wed 21 Nov 2007
Sesshoumaru is so clueless about pregnant women--stretch marks, the marks of pregnancy, the final pressure on the belly button. That scene was quite amusing, as he was thinking that he should keep his mouth shut. I liked the way you dealt with Rin's mortality. Sesshoumaru's advice was very wise.

Also, I agree with you with the fluffiness. I think when Sesshoumaru acts as Rin's father it is totally cute!

faye- Wed 21 Nov 2007
Good chapter. I've been thinking about death a lot lately (we will all face death), and reincarnation (it's something I believe in as a Buddhist). But with youkai, I'm not sure since they are considered "immortal" they do seem to age (like totosai) so I would guess they aren't totally immortal like gods, but they just live and very very long time. Well anyways, I've truly loved reading this story and I'm excited for the end. I hope you will continue to write for us in the future!

swasdiva- Wed 21 Nov 2007
Alright, for a completely nonsequitor intro, I fell over howling at the hiliarity of your comment to snowbird. Actually, what's more funny, or perhaps tragic, is that I would hands-down vote Inuyasha into the presidency over any of the dingbats currently running. Alas, you have to be born here in the US, and Inuyasha's Japanese...not to mention two-dimensional...sigh... (though you would never guess that with the way you write his personality)

Another amazing chapter, and I most appreciate, again (geez I feel like a broken record sometimes!), the realism you always manage to capture in moments where most people go off the deep end of melodrama. I'm speaking of the Pregnancy Conversation. It was so true to life that I could imagine actually having that talk with someone in the sanctity of our bedroom, in the tiny moments when the most important things are spoken in whispers. It was very stirring and honestly, the fact that Sesshoumaru is starting to embrace his inequities and share them with Kagome makes me love him more. You've realistically made him into a man who would have that talk with Sun, and it doesn't seem unabashedly OOC. His progression to that point of understanding was very natural and heartwarming. Huh...never thought I'd associate Seshoumaru with heartwarming, but there you have it.

Speaking of Sun, I adore his and Rin's interaction, even the underlying sadness and maturity. I guess, the beauty of it is that he's taking his moments with her for all they're worth, even in the face of inevitability. That's a good, good, good boy, and I love you for giving Rin someone like him. Squee!! =^^=

I'm gonna cry a big fat tear when this fic is over. I mean it, the proverbial fanfic "Single Tear" will trail down my cheek, in extreme slow-motion, even. That's a feat. I feel like there's something else I wanted to gush about concerning this chapter, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was...OH YEAH! I appreciate how you worked in aspects of that pregnancy article you read (that's what I'm assuming) and you pointed out the physical manifestations of being pregnant, AND made Sesshoumaru marvel at them. Ah, the wabi-sabi of it all...the beauty of imperfection. That's what I wanted to tell you, yeah...Good stuff!!

And BTW, I'm glad you enjoy my biblically long reviews. ^^ I've never been known for being succinct, especially when I'm enamoured with something.

I had mixed feelings about this story in the beginning. I first began the adventure with showers of tears for a lost taiyoukai with a broken heart. Things began to brighten for Sesshomaru when Kagome entered his life and then Inuyasha was ripped from him bringing many more tears. The theme has a darkness that has left me almost hesitant to read on, wary of more heartbreak for them all. Even Rin's bleak outlook on the world left me feeling sad and despairing for the bright loving girl that had experienced so much pain in her life. The amazing thing about your story, though, is the unexpected happiness just around the corner. Each tragedy has somehow been transformed into a triumph. Rin and Inuyasha were brought back through bursts of imagination that left me breathless. The little glimpses of joy made it all worth it. Small bits of well placed humor and happy occasions kept pulling me to the next chapter. It really has been an emotional ride. Bringing Sun in to guide Rin back to the world of the living was incredible. I love him! He's a wonderful character. You have done an outstanding job bringing this story together, and I very much look forward to the remaining chapters. Thanks for the read!

God bless Inuyasha. I mean, seriously, could he have entered that council meeting in any better fashion? That would be a Hell No. Who needs diplomacy when you have a presence like that. I absolutely loved that scene!

This entire chapter, and the one before that I somehow missed (urk!), were amazing, as always. You still have this enlightening knack of making this story about inner feelings, even in the midst of battle. during Sesshoumaru's fight with Hoshi my focus was on Sesshoumaru's conviction. The same holds true for Sun's brave declaration (that poor, poor, poor boy)...again Sesshoumaru's reflections stole the scene. I don't know how you make such sweeping settings intimate, but you do it everytime, and it lends this story a credence that's lost in many epic SK fanfics. No matter the gravity of the scene, I feel like I'm engaging on a private moment, and sharing in the growth of these characters.

Sun is one of my favorite OC's ever. His personality is similar, though not identical, to what I image Kohaku would've been had he had a chance to live a somewhat normal life. Sun's gentleness, combined with his raw power, makes for a very interesting and accessible character. Go Rin!!!

I'm very eager to see how you wrap this story up, even as I'll bemoan my loss of such timely updates (seriously, woman, how the hell do you write such great stuff so damned fast!?!? *_*). I'm especially glad that most of it will be devoted to SK moments, even though I really, really want to see Katsu in action. Hoshi's search for allies was quite amusing, discovering they were all favorably impressed with either Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, and/or the Miko. The brothers' search for allies was funny too, as they didn't think they would necessarily find any. As for Rin, something drastic was needed to make her want to live again. The drive to mate and reproduce is there for a reason. Perhaps Sesshoumaru will be happy that Rin has an interest in life again, after he gets over the anger and shock of the facts behind her reason. Nice chapter; well written and told delicately considering the main subject. It has never ceased to amaze me who otherwise rational, intellegent people can lose all vestage of sense once their hormones kick in. Rin is no different from any other girl her age even 500 years later. The consequences aren't thought of until it's too late.

Rin has become a very edgy character in this story. You take the time to show her pain and the desperate measures she seems willing to go to in order to make it stop, even just for a little while. I fear for her, which only shows that you've managed to make her a thee dimensional, believable person in an otherwise fantastic setting.

Very nice indeed!

i find your twisty, twiney, turny imagination absolutely fascinating; even when i predict the next action and am correct, you manage to make it new, clean and sharp. like you're telling me: 'yes, you got it, but it isn't quite how you thought it would be - look again!' there is so much sweetness in your tale, but it isn't sweet. the characters take so many bitter actions, but it isn't bitter. you display their pain, anger, anguish; their joy, laughter, then sorrow; they are real people, 3-dimentional, emotional, irrational; and i hope none of them move into the condo next door to me... i couldn't deal with the drama.

it is interesting to see how you've dealt with the various self-destructive behaviors of your characters. i have seen some similar behaviors in people i knew. i am impressed with how well you've resolved so many of their issues. i look forward to the next chapter.

i was recently given a good piece of advice....don't second guess yourself. there is a story in your soul that screams to be told. tell it, get it out. this story holds true to what i know of japanese history, heck in most of the world at that time girls were sold as early as age 6 to procure land and power. even today females are used as barganing tools, sold into sex rings and such. your dipliction of rin and sun was just wonderful. no pain, no assumptions, just a raw need for two people to forget thier troubles and just feel. well done!!!

Ho ho ho ho ho Rin tsk tsk tsk ... I really did love this chapter. I feel like Rin, as well as Kohaku, would have some serious issues when they grow up. I am sure that dying and in kohakus case killing a ton of poeple could have serious effects on ones sanity. This was scadelicious! i love it.

swasdiva- Mon 12 Nov 2007
I KNEW IT!!!!

Um...yeah...

Again, I'm daydreaming about your story and going through the possible scenarios of who Kagome's child would be. I went through the whole Touga thing (waaaay too cliché and blatant), the Ryukossei thing (hey, he did kill people and is connected to the Inu fam) and all the others you had Kagome pick through. Then, BAM. There he was, smiling in my mind, a Kohaku with white hair. Great choice, I think. Interesting, because his soul and Rin's already shared a deep connection, and it's very poignant that they could form a familial bond. Rin as Kohaku's big sister...wow. They've both seen the other side of death (even if, being reincarnated, he doesn't remember) and I'm sure the connection will again be intrinsic and solid. It'll be interested to see his personality in this life.

I think the Rin scene was well done, and I'm not really squicked at all. You gave very valid points as to why Rin wanted it to happen, and frankly, yeah she's a tad younger than when I did anything adolescently stupid, but I also never died several times over. I like this Sun kid, too. For some reason he reminds me of the soft-spoken main character kid in Super Bad (ever seen that movie?). Cute, clumsy, lonely, afraid, but able to make good decisions when he needs to (in the future maybe).

I loved the part with Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru, too. While I expected Kouga's appearance (but not a little red-haired Kouga-spawn!! Squee!! So cute!) I appreciated the Akitoki cameo and the mention of the bats and other characters we've seen throughout the series. The brothers' introspection was well-written, too. I adore how you've shaped them into true brothers.

All in all, it was another great chapter. I can't wait to see how Sun reacts to Sesshoumaru and vice versa (that poor, poor, stupid boy!!). Of course, with Sesshoumaru's line of thought concerning a hanyou's place in the world, perhaps he wouldn't completely oppose Sun and Rin together (aside from the fact that they're both so young). And just thinking of Sesshoumaru as a mentor of sorts...*shudder*...oh Sun, you have no idea what you're in for, do you?

Better take a pack of that Opium...

Still lovin' your story. Just let me know when it comes out on DVD. ;)

I bow to your wisdom and respect how you handled a touchy subject. You detailed more of Rin's background than any other author. I can understand how she was wise beyond her years. You are right about girls becoming women much earlier in their life than todays females. I was thinking with the mind of a modern female. You'll have to forgive me. I'm 57 and should know better since my own mother was married and pregnant with me at the age of 14. I sometimes forget that she was once a child-woman. I agree that sometimes young people searching for something that's missing in their life will make foolish decisions. I think we're all guilty of that sometime in our life. Also, I think this was the beginning of a healing for Rin's soul. So again I bow to your wisdom and it was tastefully done. Also, I'm glad you've decided to keep him in the story and am excited that their mated. Abi is a blessing in disguise for her understanding and helpfulness. I'm so glad Sess and Inu are finding out how well liked and respected they are and collecting all kinds of allies. Yippeeee! I eagerly await the next updatel.

Because of this, I don't want to see a lengthy war. Sess and Kag need some peaceful, happy time together. I felt so sorry for Sess and his last night with Kag. They don't need to be apart for very long. I hope I caught it correctly that Kag is having a son. Usually re-incarnations are many years apart for Inuyasha stories so it could be someone she knows of and not necessarily met. Maybe Touga? Someone that powerful did not go through life without his fair share of innocent deaths. Oh and wow! Inuyasha's son is the heir! I guess because his mate had the first male pup? I'm glad he's with Abi. He needed her stabilizing force. And Rin! She really does have mental issues. I hope this mystery boy helps her come to grips with her problems and NOT SEXUALLY. She's only 12. I don't think you would write such a thing anyway. Hopefully, she and Kag can become close again as she slowly moves into womanhood. Oh dear me, it seems I'm writing a book so I'd best shut up and wait for your next update.

....

BWUAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!

Sorry...*tear! snort!* I just...oh, irony, how I've missed you. Such a short line, and it carries so much power: hilarity, poignancy, revelation. I can't wait for the next chapter, just to see Inuyasha's reaction. I for one wouldn't know how to feel. I mean, centuries of your life are peeled away to reveal an acceptance you'd never thought would come. It's...baffling, for lack of a better word. I really can't wait to see it.

Other than that, yet another great chapter. The Rin twist was good and completely unexpected, well, not so much that she's still struggling with depression, but rather who she met. I'd just like to repeat that he was practicing the Wind-Scar WITH HIS CLAWS...

WTF?? Other than that, I'm glad she has a chance to examine the essence of her fears and sadness. There's a Resmiranda fic entitled "Wolf Like We" (wow, shameless plug and it's not even my fic...) with a similar take on how she deals with her fear of wolves (along with another well-known IY character...*cough*). If you can't beat it...well....uh....fuck it. So to speak. Of course, that's not quite what I'm expecting here. The root of the situation allows a very tangible means of her to face her fears, whether through romantic potential with this boy or just getting to know him, having a physical outlet for everything quaking inside. I welcome any opportunity for Rin to be at peace.

And yeah, I figured it *would* be silly to let such heavy concepts dangle in the wind with a convenient little epilogue. I was thinking more along the lines of what characters you were specifically focusing on and if, since Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha had come to some sort of understanding, your story was over. I'm particularly glad you're continuing and covering such a broad range of leery topics. Again, as I always stress with your writing, it makes it that much more real.

Would this count as Season 2 or Season 3? I swear to you I feel like I'm watching prime time TV. I didn't think you'd continue into another complicated story arch, but I guess it's to be expected considering they're stil playing Swiss Family Robinson and the West is crumbling. Though I guess "playing" is not the opportune word, here, is it? Again, I am utterly amazed and impressed that you manage to root this story in such realism. You have this deep understanding that fairytale elements do not a compelling story make. Even in an otherworldly setting such as this, the emotion and motivations are painfully real. I think that's the major reason why your story has become so popular, because your readers can relate to the characters' feelings. (Okay, so I've never exactly taken back a kingdom that was owed to me, but hey, I've had some big presentations at work...yeah...) And I present you the Fanfiction Medal of Brave Writing for not backing down on Rin's pain and having everything turn up sunshine and roses when Sesshoumaru officially adopts her. Considering what she's been through, major depression is a given. Kudos on exploring that issue and not backing away to rush the Deux Ex Machina happy ending.

I must say, though, that even though I have a healthy appreciation for the angst, I do hope there is some sort of hopeful resolution for all involved. And I want to see Katsu and future SK baby speak!!! (That is, if it fits into the story, natch. T_T)

swasdiva- Mon 05 Nov 2007
I could not have imagined a better resolution. You didn't *just* have Inuyasha lumber his stubborn way out of hell, nor did you *only* have Sesshoumaru forge his stubborn way into hell (notice Sesshoumaru does not "lumber"). Neither was the quintessential Hero, the proverbial Savior. They worked *together* and reached for each other blindly, working only on the barest of senses and the most ardent faith that the other was there. In all honesty, have we ever seen a more striking example of how much alike these two are? Neither sat by and *let* Inuyasha's death happen, and in the end their tenacity (since that's a little more positive than stubborness) literally pulled them both to safety. The moment Inuyasha was through the barrier and all they could do was stare at each other, a million sentiments echoing in silence, I swear to you I lost it. These were tears of joy, though. It was simply too much of a beautiful scene for me to keep my praise inside. I must admit, though, that I was counting on a Touga cameo, and you didn't disappoint. When I really get into a story, I tend to spend countless hours slacking off...er, I mean... imagining what future chapters will be like. So Touga was in my daydreams, and I was glad to see he made it into reality. Even though I know you have another chapter to go (I'm guessing an epilogue of sorts?) this resolution was pitch perfect. I adore this story and will definitely look for your future work.

I don't know why she had to tell them, but I guess it is very "Kagome." The loss of the pup is tragic, especially since it appears that Sesshoumaru would be accepting of their love child/pup after all. I think Inuyasha and Abi would be cute together, and he does resemble his father. That's karma, for Inuyasha to be in the position of being looked at by Abi and sometimes she sees Inu-no-Tashio and sometimes she sees Inuyasha.

BeautifulDeception09- Sun 21 Oct 2007
Aw Sesshomaru And Inuyasha Have Figured Out That Abi Likes Inu ... I Coulda Told Them That A Couple Of Chapters Ago ... Goshness Why Does Sesshomaru Have To Cause Kagome So Much Grief ... He Needs To Be Understanding!!! Yay! Blood Bond Thingy Well Sort Of ... Well Can't Wait To See Whats Going To Happen Next ... Update Soon Please!!!

rowdysgirl- Sun 21 Oct 2007
i am in awe of you. you rip my heart out with the pain, love and sorrow these people feel and then i remind myself that this is just a story and the people aren't real... but you make them seem so very real and you leave me crying.

Bahirah- Sun 21 Oct 2007
Awesome, simply awesome. I love the latest chapter!!!

BeautifulDeception09- Fri 19 Oct 2007
Okay So That Chapter Kinda Brought Tears To Mi Eyes ... Poor Kagome And Sesshomaru And Inu And The Unborn Puppy ... Thats Sad ... Well Update Soon Please!!!

I love how you are the first author out of all the stories I've read, that has brought out all the brother's issues for them to finally settle things between them. I just hate it was done with such a high price. Why could her miko powers not heal her extremities since they were able to heal Sess and give him his arm back? And will she be able to regenerate her finger? I hope she's not bitter at Sess when she awakens and learns of her miscarriage.
This is truly an emotional story and you have pulled my emotions deeply into it from the beginning with Rin's death and each time Sess would reflect back on his memories of her. I have shed more than one tear while reading this story. You are an artist. Never give up this talent.

Mel- Wed 17 Oct 2007
omg...this chapter is so full of emotion, the tears are welling up in my eyes. The saddness of Kagome losing the child, her physical condition, and the way it affected those dogs....such a great chapter. Wow...this is going on the list of all time favorites. Keep up the great work!

Faye- Wed 17 Oct 2007
aww kind of a short chapter! Poor kagome, I hope she recovers well. Inu and Sesshoumaru are chained together! No getting it on for Sesshoumaru and Kagome! Please update soon

Jean- Wed 17 Oct 2007
That was so sad! It's not like Kagome can regrow a new nose, fingers and toes can she? And I can't believe she would save Inuyasha first. He became a demon, an uncontrolled one at that and not the same as the half-demon she knew. Sesshoumaru is her love, her life, and the other being who completes her. How could she not save Sesshoumaru first?

rowdysgirl- Wed 17 Oct 2007
ohhh, you've torn my heart right out of my breast! what a beautiful chapter and a beautiful story. the whole thing flows so softly and then hits the heart like a sledge hammer. what a good job!

jen- Tue 16 Oct 2007
...just, damn... this rocks

sessholuva09- Sun 14 Oct 2007
I really love ur story!!!! expand!!!!

Mutnodjmett a.k.a judzea- Fri 12 Oct 2007
You have definitely been placed on my favourite author's list with this wonderful story. I will be patiently waiting for your sequel and I'm sure it will well be worth the wait.

I'm thinking that Kagome is going to have to make a choice because she may not be able to save both brothers...hmm, which one will she choose? Great ending to one story and lead in to its sequel.

Brilliantly done :-)
*hugs and smiles galore*

Wonderful chapter! ^^

Jean- Fri 12 Oct 2007
OMG Kagome has to save both of them by herself? And, this is the end of the story--well part 1 anyway. I am completely hooked.

rowdysgirl- Fri 12 Oct 2007
oi gevalt! such drama! you really need to stop writing things that make me cry. and what a way to end... i know that you are going hear about that!

your English skills are really quite good. oh, there are a few things i noticed, but for the most part, i've been so caught up in the story my mind autocorrected and i stopped seeing your errors. the mind can do that; ain't it amazin'? however, it is always good to put English majors to work, it saves them from horrible fates: my best friend majored in English and minored in philosophy and now she's a llegal secretary! hanging out with lawyers! oh the shame...

back on task: this is such a good story. you have a great concept and you're doing a wonderful job of writing it. i just love this story, but i don't know how much more crying i can take!

swasdiva- Fri 12 Oct 2007
I honestly thought the last chapter was going to be the end, you know, one of those poignantly open endings that promise some type of...well...reconciliation!!! But lo and behold, you're ready to turn that vague concept into a full-fledged sequel. I couldn't be more excited, strike that, practically falling off my seat in suspense!

You've done something amazing with this story. Lately the berth of S/K stories seem doomed to repetition and cliché, but this fic took a completely unexpected, completely *heartwrenching* turn with the exchange of Kagome and Rin, and how such retribution dredged up old memories and ripped open old wounds. You have quite the way with ripping apart emotions as well, as I was brought to tears many times! Reading this fic, I think I need to invest in Puffs tissues. Seriously. Your writing style lilts through fine threads of deep sorrow and fragile hope. There's a beautiful melancholy to it, a rhythm that's quick but reflective. I really love the way you write, and I can't wait to read Reconciliation. I'm sure you've got a buffet of angst just waiting to be served!!

Faye- Fri 12 Oct 2007
Oh, cliffhanger! I guess if you didn't write a cliffy it wouldn't keep us coming back for more though! Maybe Sesshoumaru and Kagome can warm each other up with all that sex that was mentioned earlier *wink*wink* lol! Great job

jen- Thu 11 Oct 2007
this is freakn' awesome man! i love you! you must write more! do it now! RAH!!! srry. i had a moment. i'm done.

shon_7- Thu 11 Oct 2007
Very well written. I like it a lot so far, update soon :D

Jean- Thu 11 Oct 2007
Great battle with unexpected twists. Sesshoumaru's thoughts on Rin and Kohaku were very heartwarming. I was surprised that Inuyasha actually used the wish to become a demon. At least this will bring about a reconciliation of some sort to the brothers and perhaps the issue of a full blooded heir can be Inuyasha's problem.

Faye- Thu 11 Oct 2007
wow! I love your death of Naraku, I haven't read chapter 525 of the manga yet, but I want Naraku dead soon. After the death of Naraku, I certainly hope the manga doesn't just end and there is more character development at least. I can't wait to see what happens next and how inuyasha handles being full-yokai.

Jean- Thu 11 Oct 2007
There are some heavy questions being asked and some unasked. This is an intelligent group that, as you say, is becoming like a family unit. The dynamics are very interesting.

Sirinya- Thu 11 Oct 2007
YAY you updated. I wish there was more chapters to keep me from going crazy.

I tried to ignore this cause well authors are allowed to write what they want.. but Tomatos arent native to Japan and wouldnt have been grown there during the Sengoku era >_>;.
Its been bugging me for a while and I didnt want to pick at such a small thing but it wouldnt leave my head... Sorry :x

BeautifulDeception09- Mon 08 Oct 2007
I Love Ur Story!!! I Realli Am Enjoying It ... This Story Is So Cute But Sad At The Same Time ... Poor Rin ... I Miss Her ... Update Soon!

Mutnodjmett a.k.a judzea- Sun 07 Oct 2007
This story is making me more excited as I await the next chapters. You're wonderful...I like Abi and the way she interacts with Jaken, Kagome and Sesshoumaru.

Update soon.

*hugs and smiles*

Aimee- Sun 07 Oct 2007
"Ugly hanyou are made from ugly youkai and bizarre sexual misadventures by human women.” Abi explained. "

"Jaken thought someone was torturing you with all the noise you were making last night." Abi added."

Those two bits make me crack up, I've read that part about three times now and they still make me laugh.

Bahirah- Sat 06 Oct 2007
I just wanted to tell you that your story is one of the most intriguing, original, and throughout stories that I have ever read. I stayed up to 4 am reading all 9 chapters! However I do have a recommendation. A good part of your sentences are a bit confusing. I suggest you team up with another fanfic writer, so they can help you clean up the diction of your sentences. It'll help you express the feelings and events in the story a lot better.

But dear God, don't let that deter you. I'm restlessly waiting for your next chapter. Until then.

Faye- Fri 05 Oct 2007
bah, cliffy >.> o noes, disaster! Can't wait to read more

rowdysgirl- Fri 05 Oct 2007
innovative and brilliant, simply brilliant. there are some errors, missused words here and there, but the concept and the telling of the story are both exquisite.

Mutnodjmett a.k.a judzea- Thu 04 Oct 2007
Great story! It was well written. have one question...did I miss something...why couldn't Sess bring Rin back to life with Tensaiga?

Update soon...love the plot twists.

*hugs and smiles*

Inuzands- Thu 04 Oct 2007
So I normally don't review, but I found this fic at work today, and then couldn't stop until I read it all. You've written this in such a way that it really sucks a reader into the story and gives us quite a vivid picture. I also like how the grammar and punctuation are quite accurate ( a little peeve of mine). I very much look forward to reading more! :)

JBella- Thu 04 Oct 2007
NO!!!! I got to the end of the chapter, and went to hit the "next chapter" button...and there wasn't one :(

Great story! Read chapters 1-8 this morning, which means I'm -way- behind on my work. But you're doing an amazing job, keeping a good balance of humor, romance, drama, etc. I really like your explanation of how and why Sesshoumaru is feeling all the things for Kagome he swore he never would for a human, and how you've tied it up with his feelings for Rin. Kagome's awakening into the the most powerful miko has been so realistic, not an all-at-once burst, but a gradual, more natural changing. You've made Jaken likable while still keeping him...Jaken, lol. You even made me feel sorry for Kikyou, not making her exactly a victim, but definitely putting a new perspective on her motives and thoughts. And poor Inuyasha *sigh*. As for Abi? Perfect OC! She's gonna be one of my favorites, I can tell.

I hope you update really soon. Looking forward to that next chapter!

cocoke5- Thu 04 Oct 2007

Wow, you totally have me hooked! Is Sesshoumaru going to get his arm back when he gets his sword, like in the manga? I can't wait to find out what happens next!
