Yes, all the kids are Sesshomaru's. Often times in China (I know this Japan but when it comes to concubines, I use China's version always) the emperor (or Sesshomaru in this case because he is lord of the West) would have hundreds of concubines and even more children. Sesshomaru, as we've has hundreds, but as we've heard with Dai, not all are allowed to have children. Machi and Dai are two great examples of this where Meiko is an example of a female that can have children.

As for the copulation and blood of childbirth, you have a dirtier mind then even I do . That was just a saying among the concubines, not what he actually does though I wouldn't be surprise if at one point he'd done that.

A: Yes, it's true that Sesshomaru did recommend Hikaru. Even though, Sesshomaru would give his blessing, but being an overprotective brother that he is. Sesshomaru will want to fight him; not to the death, but to measure Hikaru's strength. Sesshomaru will want to make sure that he's not giving his blessing to someone who can't protect his sister and to deem him worthy of her. She'll do the same to those bitches who want to become his mate; for the same reasons. His mother would probably give him her blessing. Inuyasha had just met him might want to fight him. just because he wanted to.
Traditions are also against their mating simply because he's not royalty and she is. However traditions are also meant to be broken. Only time well tell.

I know, right? That was one thing that annoyed me about the manga - the character pairing is supposed to be Inu/Kags, but anytime something looks like it's going to happen between them, here comes the clay doll disrupting things. RT is so inconstant - she gives Miss mary sue Kikyou plenty of play time and several kissing scenes, but not the supposed main pairing! I really wish the manga would have paired Kagome and Sesshoumaru instead. And as for Kouga, that moldy wolf-pelt was good for only one thing - and that was making the two-timer jealous so he would know what it felt like. Not that he showed up as often as that damn whey-faced Kikyou, though.

A: No one really needs a confidant, especially in this story. It's just a ploy. Sesshomaru had a suspicion what Inuhime is trying to do, but even he can't read his sister's mind. Yes, Sesshomaru is doing the same thing as she's doing to him. He wants her to be happy. He knows that Hikaru fancies Inuhime, but traditionally someone below their ranks aren't mate material; meaning that nobility mates with nobility; royalty mates with royalty. Since Hikaru is Sesshomaru's general, he wouldn't be able to mate with her; until Hikaru says 'screw traditions' and makes a move.

Q: What's the point of this exercise?
A: The point is to have them talking and spending time with each other, otherwise they wouldn't be together.

Q: Is this a western tradition?
A: No, it is completely made up. Like I said before, it's just a ploy.

Q: So if the guy doesn't get the girl, the girl gets banished and dishonored, but if the girl doesn't get the guy nothing happens?
A: No, you misunderstood. if the guy doesn't have the girl, then the said girl won't get banished or being dishonorable or vice versa. You see, the dishonorable thing is when the said girl, that had mated with the said male, goes to cheat and deceive the male. Sesshomaru being a dog demon could sniff out a lie in a second, plus he would know if the unborn pup would be his or not. Her family believed that she brought dishonor upon her family and they disown her. I know that sounds harsh, but in this story it's just the way it is.

Review for today: Yes, Sesshomaru has many children. As for the inu mating thing, I personally don't like the thought of 'mating'. Though they are dog demons, they are not dogs. They have their own youkai culture but it resembles human culture of the time as well. Japan was not a monogamous place and sexuality wasn't seen as a big deal, at least at that time in history. They had no problem with homosexuality, multiple partners, etc. So yeah, there's an explanation.
