Well...I'll try to explain. Sesshomaru 'lend' Jaken to Inuyasha because Inuyasha asked for it. The truth is that while Sesshomaru does not agree with what Inuyasha does/want he is more like... that's HIS problem.

Jaken didn't provide the body. He just provided the information as to how to pass Kikyo's soul to a new/alive body. I always think of Jaken as a wizard/magician.

Jaken...however felt bad. He's gotten close to Rin, and he was sure this would make Kagome very sad...but he had to do so because Inuyasha was his new Master...for the time being. Something like that... Besides...if Inuyasha wants Kikyo...Kagome would end up hurt sooner or later...
