Such an "ok, time to move on with my life" approach would have been both unrealistic and ill-fitting to the characters - and I really don't like unrealism and OOC:ness.
I find keeping a ryokan fitting to them as well, that's why I decided on it. 
Anyway, thank you for reviewing Chain once again and sharing your thoughts!

The very next chapter will actually focus on Kagome and Sesshoumaru.
I'm glad to hear you think I managed well with the last 2 chapters - there was a lot of different things I needed to include, and it was a bit of a challenge to me.
As Kimiko is the only parent Yoshimaru has ever known, I didn't want him to resent her as well. I think he would reflect those negative feelings towards someone else, possibly again to the parents that had abandoned him. The workings of a human mind after all are anything from simple, so who can tell anything about the workings of a demon mind.
