No way! I had the same kind of visual going in my head when I wrote that chapter - the whole time I kept hearing that damn jingle running through my head from ear to ear - which isn't hard, considering there's nothing blocking the passageway from one side of my head to the other, lol!

i cant explain in detail what happened to father higurashi but to put this simply, he's not around anymore. i'll be explaining this is in detail in the next few chapters.

kagome isnt trying to kill herself. she feels suffocated by the responsibilities of regaining the family honour and trying to escape the reality of losing her father and killing in general. kagome is not a natural born killer. she may have the skills for it but she does not have the complete mental block that her father was able to achieve. this guilt and remorse for killing plagues her. she is at war with what she thinks is right and her determination for regain the family honour.

Was inspired by a chat where we discussed authors having Sesshoumaru call Kagome darling and whatnot. For me, having him acknowledge her as a miko is endearment enough.

kagome is hardcore but all the fighting that she has ever been doing has been for training. it is very different to fight a duel where there are rules to keep the fight clean and the participants alive in most cases. fighting for life/death is much more gritty and jarring. there is no honour...just survivors. this would be kagome's first time seeing a gruesome death up close and been actively involved in killing someone which i hope explains her reaction a bit more =) thanks for reviewing!
