Yeah, me too. I'm not one for dark stories and unhappy endings - I think the only stories I've written along those lines are If You Fly Away Tonight, The Fall of the House of Taisho, and this years Halloween tale, The Second Heart, which is an original Ghost Story by yours truly. But as for Ever the Lotus - happy endings abound!

Yeah, I wanted to do something different with youkai than the usual hiding in society with disguises for Illumination. I thought this worked well!

I hope so! Not Quite the Last is going to be a three-parter, and mostly about Satori and her past. But that's just me - I like to give my characters in the story happy endings, so... anyway, hope you stick with finishing out Windows on the West - though we've still got a ways to go.
